Finding a rich seam in stark minimalism, soundsystem pressure and fractalised rhythm, Cassius Select is at the vanguard of contemporary broken beats and punishing low end.
 
This new Select transmission comes correct on Bruk, prodding at the same bold dance futurism already laid down by Siete Catorce and FFT, whilst sounding nothing like either of them. ‘Dread Percent’s swelling pads and dislocated MC shards are a foil for the ruff angles of ‘Fish Tek’. ‘Mess Mutual’ teases and stalks at a lower tempo and then twists up another set of bars over a bed of alien drone, laying the groundwork for the massive, grime-licked hooks of ‘Shake Like Me’.
 
Hinting at the anthemic while remaining steadfastly cool and deadly, Cassius Select’s mutant brand of club has the space and versatility to slip between scenes, doing damage wherever it lands.

The fifth transmission on BRUK comes from Chewlie, a breakthrough artist from Switzerland adept at sculpting tense, sharply defined atmospheres with eerie amounts of space and dreadful amounts of bass. Following up on her 2022 Creature LP for YUKU, this eight-track deep dive explores nervous hallways of dislocated rhythm with a UK soundsystem attitude and a subtle but striking approach to sound design.
 
In contrast with the strident melodic tones of Creature, Chewlie demonstrates her versatility as a sonic artist (alongside her established work as a graphic designer). Understated moodiness is the key here, resulting in powerful heads-down immersion heaters with stand-out moments to make the floor fall in line amidst meditative, patient pauses in between. In the field of leftfield dubwise club music, Chewlie’s voice strikes out with purpose and poise, slotting into the firmament of BRUK as another natural misfit in the many-sided bassweight landscape.

With Echoes Of Tomorrow, Titta ventures beyond the boundaries of terrestrial communication. This marks his second sonic encounter with Humanoid Gods, yet the signal he now emits is more intricate and more layered, as though something deep within him has finally aligned with the inner constellations of my universe. His four compositions are far from mere tracks. They are spiritual schematics, cartographies for the exploration of liminal states of consciousness. IDM dissolves and reforms like dreams slipping through the fingers of wakefulness. Downtempo pulses with the rhythm of a heart untethered from time. Broken beat architectures fracture and recombine like shards in a temporal feedback loop. Dub emerges as an electromagnetic force that permeates everything, oscillating between presence and dissolution.

Parallax explores the shifting boundary between human intuition and algorithmic logic, a space where two perspectives converge and blur until the center is lost. Composed through a hybrid system of voltage-controlled hardware and digital manipulation, the five tracks apply FM synthesis, granular processing, and bit-level degradation to rigid electro structures. Sequences are shaped by modulation instability and clock drift, gradually disrupting pattern integrity and simulating a loss of systemic control. Precise yet disrupted grooves hint at a deeper malfunction, as if something is corrupting the system from within. Parallax is the gap between the human who creates and the algorithm that imitates.
