Blakwood (alias Ben Watts) is a French DJ & Producer - Based in Strasbourg - member of electronic rock band Kings Love Jacks

As a drummer, Ben first met music by jazz, funk & progressive rock. Later, the Detroit scene works as a revelation. 
His first release, "Ma Fleur", came after years of DJing around his hometown Strasbourg (Ososphère, Nordstern Basel, Le Rafiot in Strasbourg...). The track is remixed by Wareika, Ruede Hagelstein & Gordon (Infiné). 
« Overcome », his second release, has been selected by Agoria in his mix for french Magazine TSUGI (Summer issue 2013).

His new project "Blakwood", now meets KOMPAKT Records, with his remix for Silent Ones (Fr) & My Vision Records with the track "Afrikan", remixed by Sasse & Ed Ed.

With club scene since 1995. First as techno and underground clubber. Started creating first beats in high school with his Amiga. Through 15 years of music education, tons of listened track, finally decided to start djing and year after producing some of his own.
As a DJ active from 2011. For over five years he worked for his name, being now well known in his home town Lodz, Poland, very heart of Polish underground music scene. Played in all major clubs as DOM, Bagdad Cafe, Glow, 6 District, to name few. Also invited around Poland. Now based in Manchester, UK.
As a producer started to release in 2013. So far he made his mark by seven original EP’s. His tracks was also appreciated on two mixtapes.
Works as a film score composer. Actively looking for new music approaches in fields of dance-theatre and movies. For more then 15 years as a professional choreographer and dancer he is very familiar with this field of creation. Widely experienced, he finished more then ten artistic projects on international dance and theatre festivals, composed original soundtracks for 5 dance companies and few movies. Made bunch of smaller projects in his home community and around Poland.
When you add to all this mashup great follower of jazz, especially in version proposed by Amon Tobin for example, you can imagine how versatile his possibilities are.
Thats why its hard to name one genre as his favorite. More interested in emotions, energy and rhythm layers, that suck in audience and give them trip, that they won’t forget for a long time…
