Sketches of the Heart (SOTH) are personal essays, stories, writings and memories that have been sketched deep in my heart that I want to share with the world especially my siblings, friends, women of color, and children of immigrant parents. The sketches will reveal my thoughts as a child of war refugee parents, first-generation to attend college, a Hmong-American woman, a higher education educator, and an advocate for a world free of violence.

I hope these experiences will resonate and offer a ray of hope and inspiration.  I also hope my stories will offer clarity and pushes you toward beginnings and conclusions of your own so you can live authentically.
