For AXR015, we welcome Dutch duo Binary back to Axon Records with a three track EP.

Opening the release, we have the EPs namesake, ‘About You’. Starting with an atmospheric drop, a bed of pads and melodic stabs give way to building toms and percussion, which break into a techy dance floor roller. With strong low-end elements and snappy drums, it’s a strong start from Binary.

‘Plexus’ is the second track on this release. This futuristic, techy and punchy track is quick to launch. Featuring plucky leads, rolling drums and pulsating basslines, it is guaranteed to rumble sound systems across the globe.

To close, Binary provide us with ‘Frequent’. Containing a modulated plucky bass line and driving top line melodies, this energetic dancefloor track is a powerful ending to this incredible EP.

Once again, Binary prove that they are at the forefront of modern Drum & Bass, and we are honoured to have them within the Axon Records community.

Bons - Hammer / Strike

Dirty bass constructions, pounding rhythms, and cinematic melodies characterize Bons' (https://soundcloud.com/bonsdnb) debut on the Hamburg-based label Insomnius Music. With 'Hammer / Strike,' the artist melds dynamic Drum and Bass and captivating beats into an exhilarating atmosphere.

Hailing from Novi Sad, Bons is an emerging talent in the Drum and Bass world. Inspired by his brother, he discovered his passion for the genre in the early 2000s. Since 2011, he has amazed audiences with DJ sets that skillfully intertwine Neurofunk with rolling and minimalist beats. His debut EP, 'Science Fiction,' released in 2017, caught attention, leading to releases on renowned labels. His signature sound is defined by the adept fusion of Balkan film samples and video game elements with energetic low frequencies.

In line with this symbiosis, Bons infuses his release 'Hammer / Strike' with a rich and enthralling vibe, coupled with celestial force. 'Hammer' blends pulsating pads, piercing lead sounds, and a deep, growling bass. Extraterrestrial lead synthesizers break through the storm, and the mission of the fully automated bass hammer is clear: to utterly destroy the dance floor! 'Strike' is an energizing track with explosive bass, an engaging aura, and an electrifying rhythm. It kicks off with dramatic pads and piano arpeggios, making room for the giant alien robot spider, currently binding synapses with slimy threads. Bons delivers two tracks that captivate from start to finish.

Prolix will be a familiar name to most hardened Drum and Bass heads, with a back catalogue that has seen releases on some of the most prolific and respected labels in the industry such as RAM, Playaz & Ganja Tek, VISION, Blackout, Renegade Hardware, Metalheadz, Viper, Virus, OWSLA/MTA and most recently signing exclusively to Shogun Audio. His unique style of production has achieved international recognition filling Prolix with the courage he needed to establish his own imprint in 2011; cue the birth of the mighty Trendkill Records. 

As his reputation has grown, Prolix has found himself collaborating with an array of top artists from across the genre such as Noisia, Misanthrop, and Icicle, as well as remixing the likes of Chase and Status, Ed Rush and Optical, and Black Sun Empire. 
It was with his work for Chase and Status that led to an introduction to d&b pioneer DJ Hype which began the conception of Ganja Tek for the sole purpose of releasing his distinct sound. Since then, Prolix' production has gone from strength to strength, securing radio support from several BBC radio DJs including Friction and Mary Ann Hobbs. 

One of his most seminal releases to date was the visionary crowd funded 'Project Trendkill' Album, a collaboration with Gridlok  which soared to the top of the download charts and into every self respecting DJ’s record bags the world over. Teaming up with Gridlok had previously come up trumps again, drawing the attention of RAM Records head honcho Andy C, with their debut 12" of 'Membrane' and 'Babylon' devastating soundsystems worldwide. 

Other landmark releases for Prolix include 'Crater' on Renegade Hardware with Nocturnal, 'Asteroids' on VISION with NOISIA, 'On Like That' EP with MC Coppa, and the 'Transcendent' EP on Trendkill featuring collabs with Misanthrop, Mob Tactics, Rido, Meth and MC Coppa again. 


Having toured America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Prolix is well known for his high energy, floor-filling DJ sets. As well as doing his own headline shows accross Europe, he has also shared the stage with some of the top names in drum and bass including Chase and Status, Subfocus, and Pendulum. 

With Trendkill continuing to gather a strong and dedicated following release after release, and since having signed to Shogun and releasing his smash debut single 'Nature of Rality', Prolix is on track to becomming one of the biggest artists in the scene.
