Mama Snake is the reptilian alias of Sara Svanholm, a Copenhagen-based DJ/Producer whose slithering beats are every bit as cunning as the name suggests. She’s an integral part of her city’s scene and a card-carrying member of collaborative ‘mixed media channel’ Amniote Editions alongside names like Celestial Trax, Hadone and D.Dan. Her full-blooded sound leaves no room for misinterpretation, it is thrilling, primal and overwhelming in the vein of the most compelling main stage techno. There’s a raw practicality to the music too, perhaps a function of her second career as a medical surgeon; Mama Snake wants to create a communal feeling through her work, and there’s the human touch. These rumbling rhythms might sound formidable, but they’re there to bring people together and get both bodies and progressive ideas moving. DJ MELL G emerged through 2020 livestreams, quickly gaining recognition. She launched JUICY GANG RECORDS in 2021 and has since toured globally, blending electro, techno, and breakbeat. Performing at top venues like fabric and Golden Pudel Club, she’s also collaborated with artists like DJ GODFATHER. Her debut LP, "ISSUES," reflects her journey and commitment to mental health awareness in the music industry.

Friday Island is back with its penultimate release of the year from cross-border prog duo Pete B & Rianu Keevs, featuring stunning remixes from Dowden and Andrés Moris. Pete and Rianu have been smashing it this year with high-charting releases on Prognosis, Critical Elements and JourneyDeep, and this release is bang on the sound we’re trying to push here at Friday Island.

First up is the original mix of ‘Unfamiliar Place’, a deep, dark and moody 4am heads-down vibe inspired by labels like Zero Tolerance and Plattenbank, combining growling bass, eerie pads and ominous vocals to devastating effect.

Next up is a remix from rising star and production genius Dowden who delivers an absolute monster of a tune, departing from his usual deep and melodic vibe with a darker mood that stays faithful to the original but adds raw, gritty bass, heavy percussion and an edgy detuned synth that absolutely slaps.

Finally, Argentinean prog producer Andrés Moris offers his interpretation – a driving, techy track that maintains the eerie, dark mood but takes us more into sci-fi territory with an aggressive robo bass and groovy drums guaranteed to lift the energy on any dancefloor.

Friday Island is a new progressive house label inspired by the magic of the early 2000s but with an eye firmly on pushing the future of the sound. Friday Island’s mission is to make music for dark sweaty rooms and those cosmic 3am dancefloor moments when you forget where you are.

Max Durante began his professional dj career in 1987 in Rome. As one of the hinges of the 90's rave generation, his sound and his presence have been fundamental for the early Italian Techno scene. He has played on the best Italian Raves and played at the best European clubs, Rave and Festivals since 1991. Well respected as a DJ, thanks to his great mixing abilities and as a producer for his great and powerful record productions.

October 1991 Max and the twins D'Arcangelo organized  one of the biggest Italian Rave, the  PLUS 8 RAVE. They led  for the First  time in Italy, the Plus 8 Records with Richie Hatwin,  Speedy J, Daniel Bell, Cybersonic ...

In the same period in 1991 along with the twins D' Arcangelo  he create the first Italian experimental techno band called ‘’Automatic Sound Unlimited’’. They create in the 90’s the dark side of techno !
This  sound  changed the vision of techno, opening new ways,  reaching a new style, mixing techno with  electro using industrial tones .
This dark sound was different  from the well-known techno, as it was based on a perpetual and continuous research .
They were precursors of a sound projected to the future: The experimental techno, that nowadays we call it industrial techno !

Sonic Groove label boss Adam X named him a true legend and innovator of ‘Industrial Techno’ in the early 90’s.

In the Last 20 years Max has toured Europe non-stop and co-produced electro bombs with artists like Anthony Rother , Keith Tucker and Aux 88 to name a few.

Over the years he has built and developed his own personal show, showing off his true character, his energy and charisma together with his superb technical mixing skills, creating sounds ranging between hypnotic, dark, industrial, acid, electro / EBM and techno.
