This was done in a very short time but it was all the more fun and challenge to work on this - the brief was "slightly retro, uplifting, slowish", so I tried to make it sound like a bit of an 80s sci-fi movie endscroller track. Despite some serious micromanagement to fit the future visuals, I'm very very happy with the end result.

I originally wanted to make a faster, drum-and-bass-y version, but that just didn't work out - at one point I accidentally dropped the tempo to half and I liked the groove enough to finish it that way.
There are a couple of weird samples in there which might need explanation: Variform, as it is known, is heavily influenced by Imatran Voima's track "In/Out", which I decided to sample back into the a Variform remix, just to back-reference the original.

Upon the table lay all that they would need. The shakers sat propped within a chalice by the mantelpiece and they would not be requiring their assistance yet. The music began to echo coarsely through the dining hall as the pepper dj spun the sweet sound of love. This was a moment of perfect simplicity and the sound radiated between the warmth of the walls. Couples spun one another widely across the wooden floor and they cried to the heavens up above. 

Hysteric recently delivered an edition of the Ransom Note mix series. A master of the edit and a purveyor of all things fine and disco focussed he now appears on a new release from Edits Du Plaisir.

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present the official Generation 500 soundtrack! It's an Amiga module called "Generation" - and it´s made by none other than pROPER dISCO featuring dLx, Firefox & Danko!

It won the Amiga tracker music compo at Datastorm 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Amiga 500 was released 1987. :)

This is a song that can be played on a standard unexpanded Amiga 500. The soundchip of the Amiga is called Paula and has stayed pretty much the same since the first Amiga prototype, called "Lorraine", back in 1984.

If you are familiar with the demoscene (especially on the PC side during the 90s) you have probably heard this tune a thousand times because of its awesomeness.

I decided to try recreating it in Logic Pro X with some soft synths. Enjoy!

Hawkeye is one of the first video game soundtracks I ever composed. The game itself was the first parallax full-screen platform game on the Commodore 64 created by the Boys Without Brains (BWB).
