@retrogott-numero-uno & @hulkhodn - Offline | Retrogott and Hulk Hodn are complete geniuses. They distance themselves from commercial rap and criticise negative aspects of their own daily life. They were the first artists in rap-music that completely convinced me. Especially ‘Offline’ is an amazing track which lyrically holds up even today.

@cuthead - Maputo Jam | Cuthead has always been an inspiration for me. His tracks are generously filled with samples and he is a true god on the MPC. ‘Maputo Jam’ was the first electronic track that I found and liked. Through its usage of dubby basslines and playful synths, it’s still an all time hit for me.

@fritswentink - Dwayne Young | Frits Wentink is also one of my faves. He’s mostly known for producing dub house. I always associate this track with good vibes and ease. You can find those vibes in a lot of his tracks which is why I listen to his music on repeat.

2 Eivissa - Oh la la la (Radio Edit) | ‘Gypsy Woman’ is known to most people and everybody probably had it as an earworm once before. This edit is my absolute favourite closing track. It perfectly completes a set and invites to sing along and lie in each other's arms. Whoever still doesn’t know this track should definitely remember it from now on.

Hip-shaking, infectiously groovy ghetto-tech, paired with electro madness is whats on the menu this time, served up by the elusive Cyan85. Hailing from the depths of eastern Germany, Cyan85 has emerged from this industrialised and cold environment with a sound that radiates pure dance energy. Using a variety of vintage-synths and drum machines, he creates a bouncy and energetic machine-funk that stands as a modern take on that classic Detroit style. His production process is one of improvisation at its core, which might help to explain his great versatility in music making, ranging from dreamy downtempo pieces to in-your-face bangers. This mix is a tour-de-force of ghetto-tech and electro, demonstrating that Cyan85 knows how to light the booth on fire.

With her fondness for vinyl, Hannie Phi from Leipzig taught herself DJing in the first lockdown of 2020, but has also been collecting records for a long time. She describes her sound as driving House Music mixed with Trance and Acid, now and then a touch of 90s Deep House and often interspersed with groovy dub sounds. 
 
In clubs like Mjut, Institut für Zukunft and Conne Island (Leipzig), Objekt Klein a (Dresden) and Ohm (Berlin) or at smaller festivals, Hannie Phi convinces with her varied Vinyl only sets. Born in Dresden, she is involved in a DJ-Training at Objekt Klein a, uses the experience she has already gained mixing with Vinyl and brings Flinta*s closer to DJing with records.

Harold Boué alias Abstraxion et Lion’s Drums, est un producteur et musicien français basé à Marseille.

Il a commencé à produire de la musique sous le nom d’Abstraxion en 2005, et a jusqu’à présent sorti plusieurs EPs ainsi que deux albums (« Break of Lights » sur le label Other People de Nicolas Jaar – 2013 & « She Thought She would Last Forever » sur Biologic Records – 2016). Son dernier EP « Black Vulture » est sorti en mai 2019 sur le label de Jennifer Cardini Dischi Autunno, avec des remix de Black Merlin et Interstellar Funk.

Sa musique n’a pas de frontières et défend une explosion d’influences et de genres musicaux. De l’Italo disco à l’EBM, de la early trance rave à la synth-wave, Harold joue toujours sur l’équilibre entre chair et machine. Pour son nouveau live, il utilise un GRP A4 modulaire, donnant une interprétation moderne au son euphorique des années 80 et 90 avec une approche chaleureuse et dancefloor.

Harold co-dirige Biologic Records avec son acolyte DC Salas, et a sorti des disques de Matisa, Glitter55, et Malcolm, entre autres. Il voyage à travers le monde pour des lives ou des dj sets dans des endroits tels que le festival Pitchfork ou le Berghain/Panorama-bar, et partage occasionnellement les platines avec des artistes tels que Roman Flügel, Jennifer Cardini, Budino, Chloé, Zozo, Alessandro Adriani…

Hyperactif dans la scène underground marseillaise avec des projets comme les soirées queer Mouillette, Laboratoire des Possibles et un prochain album à paraître en 2022 sur Dischi Autunno, les prochains mois d’Harold seront très excitants.

Xpresso Martina (Charlot van Heeswijk) is a queer newcomer DJ based in Berlin. When she’s not digging for music, she works as a freelance filmmaker and photographer.
Her selections are characterised by an energetic mix of contrasting genres within the realms of italo disco, new beat, house and progressive house. She is a founder and resident of the Berlin based R27 collective.

This mix for ÖND is a deeply personal one, tracing the roots of her musical inspirations. Starting at a groovy 112 bpm and ending at 130 this warm-up mix takes you through a selection of lighthearted italo, progressive and dream house contrasted by darker new beat and EBM tracks.
