Sylpcast 12 w/ Elmar [Maniac]

Elmar is a DJ based in Leipzig and works there as a sound and light engineer at "mjut". When he´s not optimizing sound and lights at the club, he likes to organizise partys with his crew "MANIAC". They are just starting to shape the Leipzig scene, better watch out for them!
Last but not least he curates partys with a friend for another collective named "SINOGRAPH".

In his set he builds a groovy atmosphere with 4/4 rhythms, focusing a percussive and minimalistic drive. In this range of sounds he plays around with different moods. He´s changing from deep to shaky, from funky to dreamy and the most important thing:
He always keeps the groove alive!

Elmar (maniac / Splinter Cell) is a DJ and producer based in Leipzig, DE. 
His sound varies around different electronic subgenres, approaching each of his sets individually to create a unique atmosphere. 

For Arrivée elmar recorded an exciting mix of deep, trippy, percussive techno and idm influenced productions. 
The mix represents his musical return to the roots of techno with a raw,  sounddesign-driven dramaturgy, focused on flow and energy throughout the set. 

He is part of the collective @maniac_org ; they are organizing club events in leipzig and have been quickly making a name for themselves in the city's techno scene.

Half a year ago he also started a label project with close friends called „Splinter Cell“ (@spl1nter.cell). Under their name, they are regularly releasing VA Compilations, EPs and physicals such as Tapes and CDs. 
They also have come together to organize a series of events, focused on seriously nurturing underground electronics through a comprehensive curation of booking, lighting, sound and atmosphere.

„I have to say it was a lot of overthinking for me on how to approach this mix. I wanted to record something that you could listen to in one take, with fluid progressions and a certain dynamic course. As I'm listening to a wide range of music styles, it was an even harder challenge to showcase what I like at the moment. 
Therefore I tried to give you a small insight into tracks I feel a connection to and which have had a heavy influence on my mood and musical self at the time.

@jochempaap - Ginger (Remastered 2021): I found this track a few days ago before meeting up with my friend @nuage-sonore-mlt-rec303 and instantly felt like this could be the perfect opener to a journey across multiple genres; as it is slowly building up in very calm way, paired with raw drums and oldschool sounddesign without setting to many boundaries on what follows after. 

@suelewig - Rose: Completely love this track with its pure, timeless and deep atmosphere. I got to know Sue Lèwig after the latest @splinter-cell-unit event in march. We had a great talk about the current state of electronic music and what needs to change for it to be a more sustainable and inclusive culture. I still think about it a lot.
Even crazier that the track has found its way on our label where we had the chance to curate a 14-track VA with tracks by flinta* artists from all over the globe. 
We are currently in the process of producing the physical CD release of this VA, so hit us up if you want a copy. All profits go directly to the artists.

@xupidx - stop being deep: One of the tracks I can’t get enough from. This production by xupid on @summerpup feels like a daydream and dayrave in one. I think it becomes very powerful when played at the right moment and can lift the whole dancefloor from true melancholy to ecstasy in the blink of an eye. 

@snckbites - unreleased: While listening to snackbites’s new music, I stumbled across one of the tracks in his folder. End of story, I literally have been playing this track since that day in almost every session and it gives me this certain “gritty but smiling“ vibe I only feel when listening to music with cutie snackbites. I’m excited for the official release <3 

@drivenbyattraction x @tadan127 - Dreems: A truly magical track to end with from a crazy forward-thinking album on @area127 by Driven By Attraction and Tadan. This has been one of my favorite tracks since it came out last december. It kept me going through a lot of difficult times and reminded me of how important it is to look out for one another.
