Tooflie is back with a new exploration of regional sound from all over the globe by the anonymous crew of edits lovers. The five different, but equally impressive, cuts on the fourth installment are deep dives into the sonic carnival of Brazilian favelas through the skillful reinterpretations by hidden talents. The A2 track ‘CBACA’ bolsters the signature baile funk raw energy with hard house rhythms and acidic melodic patterns. Stepping between the funkier side of electro and polyrhythmic panache, MWR - ‘man with refrigerator’ is tailored to take the dancefloor to a new level. The opening track starts with a minimalistic yet paunchy breakbeat groove on 'PDNCA' and continues the deepness through the heavy and raw low-end extravaganza on 'RTK'. Bringing the vinyl to a close, 'LAPA' goes full-throttle on haunting arpeggios and leaves things on a blissful note.

A steady and sure buzz has been building around Steve Young’s ‘Scarper’ project over the past few years, particularly since his acclaimed 2017 debut album ‘Warmer Squares’ and subsequent dancefloor favourite ‘E-Funk', which won over fans from Skream to Carl Craig with its genre-crossing appeal.

Marking a noticeable shift in direction and a new sense of focus, Scarper returns with four tracks of varying styles and influences. Drawing from dub, techno, breakbeat and rave, he mainly shoots for the floor (with a clear emphasis on bass weight), although as always, there is ample headphone fodder.

Opening with ambient intro 'Wavecrush,' Scarper moves through dub-infused downtempo with the Weatherall-esque chugger 'Metadub,' swiftly picks up the energy with the chunky beats and deep bass of ‘Metadome,’ and concludes with high-octane face melter 'Slab,' which throws tech-breaks, dark garage and jungle/hardcore vibes into the pot.

"$CRAIC is an Irish free form artist currently residing in Eora, Australia. As an up-and-coming producer, $CRAIC’s personality bursts through the hypnotic rhythms and soundscapes they create. Their experimentation with vocals, organic sampling and freaky kicks create whirling stories narrated at a fast pace. 

$CRAIC’s first EP, ‘PARTS’, will be released on November 3rd 2024. Each track on ‘PARTS’ is dedicated to an aspect (or part) of themselves. Five tracks, five unique characters which embody various combinations of feelings, beliefs and personality traits. Every track tells its own story through fast, dark rhythms, animalistic noises and woven melodies. Yet, the background ambience and space created in each cohesively ties the EP together. 

‘Clock lady’ is track #2 on ‘PARTS’ which gives us a taste of the 808-filled, delectable release inbound."
