MOLT‘s second outing consists of five cuts, firstly Stavrogin’s thunderous technoid jungle rework of DYL’s contrastingly introverted original; weaving intricately layered noise and percussion over huge hitting sine-kick pressure. DYL’s other o­fferings on this side channel early drum & bass, with chunky, filtered breakbeat rhythms and vivid, colourful yet bleakly detailed, arrhythmic sound design.
Flip the record for DYL’s o­ff-kilter broken techno floor-rattler Transfer, opening with soul-swallowing suspense — its deep subs and catchy delayed kick-rhythms evoke imminent danger. To conclude, Stavrogin brings erratic, sub-heavy melancholia with his second piece meshing luscious chords with stuttered kick sounds upon dashes of layered bass.
In line with MOLT‘s first edition, vinyl copies of Second Phase include ten locked groove loops for use creatively as sampling or DJ tools, this time assembled by @blanca .

For our final release of the year we are thrilled to share this conceptual EP ‘An-Xileel’ from two aliases’ of Naarm based artist Daniel Jakobsson; Eastern Distributor and Jörmungandr.

The world building for this release came through a necessity for escapism for Jakobsson. Across this release, he takes you on a vivid journey through Black Marsh, a territory that sprawls through tranquil yet wild swamplands into densely breathtaking rainforests.

Within this captivating landscape resides the Argonians, reptilian humanoid creatures who call Black Marsh home. The EP delves into the world of the An-Xileel, a mysterious anti-imperialist political faction among the Argonians. With sharp, obsidian eyes gleaming with ancient intelligence, they are dedicated to purging the former colonial influence and restoring the homeland to its pre-foreign rule state.

Opening the release, 'Sap Speaker' by Eastern Distributor sets the tone with a frenzied and energetic vibe, establishing the EP's atmosphere. Throughout the track, the crisp percussion maintains a sharp presence amidst the focused and intentionally immersive synthesis. The inspiration for this track stemmed from the swamp environments.

Moving on to Dam Dweller, the composition features cold, dark percussion alongside psychedelic sweeps that plunge the listener into a profound low-end groove. This groove undergoes a gradual evolution into a 4/4 eruption, accompanied by the delicate touch of gentle pads and strings. The inspiration behind this track draws from the water and cave systems of Black Marsh.

Dam Dweller gracefully concludes, paving the way for Sand Shaper, a mellow yet robust track. With a focus on organic instruments, a gliding bass, and bowed strings, Sand Shaper captivates with hypnotising atmosphere and polyrhythmic percussion. The inspiration for this piece lies in the territory's sandy shores.

Root Mender brings the tempo back up, radiating positivity, vitality, and life. Thick sub-bass tones resonate through the body, and purposeful drum programming slice through the ever engulfing ethereal pads. An amphibious croak pulses beneath heavy kicks, accompanied by soothing vocals. Strings and acid basslines elevate the track, marking it as the EP's highlight. The inspiration for Root Mender is drawn from the tree homes of the Argonians.

Concluding the EP, Tree Minder adopts an introspective tone. Minimalist percussion and sharp automation contrast with angelic pads and echoing sounds. Flutes, bells, and bows collectively paint the spirit of an alien world, mirroring the hope brought by the An Xileel to the Argonian people.

A confused yet perfectly coordinated flock of flashing black and gray birds creates fractal formations in the overcast sky. They reflect your feeling, your face in the face of the truth about your energy´s origin is blurring in the surging cloud mountains of consciousness. You feel every wing beat. Any abrupt, perfectly placed change in direction. How a thought, an emotion, an intention or the complete detachment of those ripples through your being like dominoes falling in time lapse. No longer held together by this ominous force you see flashing through the gas, water and dust mountains containing all the secrets of soul you yearn to uncover, free from the dust just to, again, see nothing but reflection reflected back anew creating recursive tunnels. Tumbling mechanical thunder rolling from your heart into every smallest extension of your system. Your mind is a magnificent storyteller, so you may feel, hear, experience a thousand in a single beat of your wings. A recollection of stories that were never yours yet enduring forever, everlasting, perpetually transiting through you.

The Gods Planet (TGP) is back with their 13th release, featuring previously released tracks by the label heads Claudio PRC and Ness, now remixed by fellow Italians Luigi Tozzi and Alan Backdrop. 

Monument premieres Luigi Tozzi's remix of Claudio PRC's Night Shift, a track that was part of his debut album 012, released with TGP earlier this year. 

TGP 013 will be out in July.
