Too often the only thing we hear about #whistleblowers is that they're treated badly. On #WorldWhistleblowerDay 2022, we held this webinar with #AzeemRafiq to celebrate the positive achievements of whistleblowers and highlight how they help make the world a better place.

Azeem Rafiq - anti-racism campaigner and ex-professional cricketer who spoke about his experience speaking up about #racism in cricket, the positive impact it had and the victimisation he faced. 

Georgina Charlton BSc MBA - former whistleblowing #NHS Freedom to Speak Up Guardian who spoke on practical steps to take to protect whistleblowers in the NHS and elsewhere

Nicola Rabson - Employment Law Partner for #Linklaters, who spoke about how employers can create a whistleblowing culture that prevents victimisation

Mark Steward – #FinancialConductAuthority Executive Director of Enforcement and Market Oversight, who talked about the regulator’s view on the dangers of leaving victimisation of whistleblowers

World Whistleblowers Day 2022-Changing the World One Whistleblower at a Time

On 23rd June 2023 Protect and #Whistleblowing International Network (WIN) partnered to host the #Worldwhistleblowersday #webinar titled 'Paying People to do the Right Thing: The pros and cons of adopting US-style #whistleblower rewards programmes.' 

The online event was facilitated by Elizabeth Gardiner, Chief Executive of Protect and chaired by Anna Myers, Executive Director of WIN. Plus other speakers on the panel included Professor Giancarlo Spagnolo, Professor of Economics and Professor Wim Vandekerckhove, Professor of Business Ethics.

The discussion examined why a whistleblowing reward approach is common in the #USA , but largely resisted in #Europe, unpacking the pros & cons of such an approach.
