‘17 years of Mainframe Recordings’ album. The LP features an eye watering 18 tracks, all of which provide a snapshot into how the imprint has evolved over the course of its expansion. Including newcomer artists who Mainframe are currently investing in, as well as those who Mainframe have had play at their raucous club nights, there’s a host of tastes catered for. And with a name like Disaszt at the helm, the album, the label and its events have been in good hands. 
Tracks like Ripple’s ‘Stranger’, Wingz ‘Definite’, and Halflow’s ‘Progressive ID’ set the mood, showing the talent which Mainframe have at their fingertips when it comes to the fresher waters of drum & bass. Then Mainframe frequenters Dubape, Phentix, Alibi and Smooth pull you into their expert riddims throughout its track listing. Breakpitt & Tenchu offers something different throughout the soundscape of ‘Flashfreeze’ whilst Picota & Kumbh’s ‘Contact’ continues the moodier vibes. Tobax’s cutthroat style is prevalent throughout ‘Overback’ and the head honcho Disaszt returns with Dorian for ‘Boom’. Tuff Gee & Carter’s ‘Pimp Ride’, Manta’s ‘Childhood Memories’, Salaryman’s ‘Soul Reminder’, Akov’s ‘Afterlife’ and Counterstrike’s ‘Fearless’ finishes the exclusively new tracks but there’s more to come, with a VIP treatment of TR Tactics and The Clamps ‘Maggot’. 
As an album, it’s a formidable collection of tracks. But when looking at Mainframe’s vast history, they would need such an LP to pay homage to their legacy and ‘17 Years of Mainframe’ certainly delivers. So, sit back and begin your journey through the album, which is sure to bring back memories from the best club nights over recent times.

Incorporate - Optic

Sevillian producers Picota & Kumbh are about to make an appearance on Program for another release. Having spent the past five years slowly growing their arsenal of music they graduated onto the Program moniker through their single ‘Sacrifice / The Mummy’ and continue to be part of the label’s expansion with their forthcoming output.

The two fresh selections presented by Picota & Kumbh, ‘Déjà Vu’ and ‘Bass Flow’, provide another glimpse into their vast, complicated manufacturing. ‘Déjà Vu’ opens with an encompassing mesh of production, which leads into tidal like breaks, whilst ‘Bass Flow’ ebbs between its levels of throbbing bass alongside jazz-inspired instrumentals. So once again it’s time to get with the Program… One which leads the charge for artists breaking the norms of drum & bass production.

Australian based producer Dead Zodiac has made his name through an array of releases on renowned underground platforms, including Lifestyle Music, Santoku, Kill Tomorrow and Formation Records. 

He’s initiated a lot of interest which has ruminated around Protocode, a label which has not only become a centralized part of the Australian drum & bass scene, but also the wider market, seeping its influence throughout every crook. 

Through DJ sets and a stream of high-calibre releases, Dead Zodiac has risen amongst many of his counterparts and has become an imprint amongst underground drum & bass outlets.

Emerging into the Perth underground bass music scene in late 2014, Ellictt quickly set a high standard for female DJs in the industry and established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the Drum & Bass community. Her track selection combines euphoric dancefloor anthems with timeless classics and rolling basslines, whilst incorporating a fast paced mixing style, keeping any Drum & Bass enthusiast on their toes. 

Ellictt’s signature mixing style has seen her perform at major venues across Perth (Metro City, Villa Nightclub and Metropolis Fremantle) often before Drum & Bass heavyweights including Drumsound & Bassline Smith, A.M.C, TC, Fred V and Grafix, Danny Byrd and Loadstar. She’s also played alongside local industry legends such as Pendulum, ShockOne and Flowidus, and has taken to the stage of Perth’s largest music festivals (Future Music Festival, Breakfest, Touch Bass and Southbound).
