Elif continues to show her endless list of talents; The Turkish label has enlisted the free spirited talent to compile their latest VA ‘Harabe Nightmares II’.

In a tumultuous year, Elif has been a shining light. From her ABRACADABRA residency which provides escapism and connection at a time we need it most, to stellar original releases on Stil Vor Talent, A Tribe Called Kotori, and remixes on Anjunadeep and AKASHA, she’s used this time to truly focus and flourish. Whether she’s writing a track or creating a set, it’s a compelling journey that draws you in. So it’s no wonder she’s been entrusted with compiling the latest Harabe Nightmares compilation.

The track list features a diverse range of both emerging and established talent, plus Elif and Marat Mode team up on the driving cut ‘Koan’, where a catchy riff meets a building synth top line in a colourful rocketing crescendo.

‘I was thrilled to be asked by Cagdas (Anatolian Sessions), a fellow Turkish producer, to compile this VA’ Elif says. ‘I loved having the opportunity to curate music that I like playing from producers I love and want to support. It took a couple of months to compile and was so fun and so satisfying that it made me consider starting my own label in the future! Harabe is an exciting emerging imprint that I'm happy to be a part of. I am in love with each and every track on the compilation and very proud of all the artists who contributed.’

The Turkish label has been bubbling up since it launched in 2019, releasing heartfelt music that defies typical genre norms. ‘Harabe Nightmares ||’ will join a back catalog of quality and consistency from this indie imprint.

The fifth edition of 'Terra Incognita' releases comes up with five excellent tracks, where each of those has a message to deliver.Dutch producer Helsloot, who performed a line of successful releases on This Never Happened, Poesie Musik as well as the remix for Bob Moses, starts with the deep anthem called 'Why Now' featuring the voice of Marcel Young.Matteo Bruscagin is the Italian producer with the releases on Solomun's Diynamic and Guy J's Lost Found. His 'Heptagram' track, which recorded with Duane Hobson, is full of emotions: bright strings work, smooth vocals and dramatizing moments all the track evolution give us the atmosphere we certainly feel.'Free Love' by Nick Scofield is a track opening the curtains of pianos and the vocals leads, which we feel in love with. With the prior support of HOSH during his Cercle set, this tune is definitely worth its' attention and being in the release.'Apus' by our Ukrainian artist 8Kays goes deep, tense and 'festival-thinking'. The sensational breakdown makes its' opening even brighter, so we're happy including and welcoming her to this editions.German duo Moonbootica completes the package with 'Nightfall' - the powerful and dynamic track, which definitely should find the audience.Enjoy these for your weekends!

PASSENGER 10 takes us places. The virtual globetrotter is not tied back because of pandemics and other restrictions, our passenger stands above the law and even makes the rules. When Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown traveled through time in an old DeLorean it seemed to be a science fictional idea to travel back or further in time. But even this barrier didn't stop Passenger 10 from taking us places and sometimes also taking us back in time.
This week he unlocks the world of the Native Americans and invites us on a musical journey through the tribes of the ancient North American people. We are visiting the tribe of the LAKOTA who were living mainly in the area of Nebraska, North and South Dakota. Today the tribe still counts over 115'000 members who are spread all across the united states.

"  An artist with a growing reputation within the underground dance fraternity, Sebastian Sellares makes his Meanwhile debut with his "Dunes at Dawn" EP.

After a 2018 debut for PHW Elements, Sebastian Sellares has made increasingly sizeable waves with his smooth and unique musical style. Already seeing his music signed to an array of high-profile imprints including onedotsixtwo, UV and Or Two Strangers, Proton Music's "Zen State / Jinsei" was a further notable highlight in October 2020 including remixes from Matias Chilano and Bedrock's Nick Muir.

The title-track opener is a gloriously atmospheric offering that builds gently over a rhythmic foundation of rolling top-line groove and pounding beat. Filtered pads soon enter the fray followed by atmospheric birdsong effects and rippling arpeggiated synth line that resonate with the "Dunes at Dawn" title. Rising to a spine-tingling zenith at the mid-point alongside deep, captivating bassline, the second half continues the rich melodic collage creating a sumptuous start to the EP.

Continuing the powerful rhythmic basis of the opener, "The Stars Above" scintillates with its chugging rhythmic vibe and syncopated bassline pattern. Evolving through subtle percussive urgency, dreamlike pads float across the mid-range beside steam-powered white noise waves, before intricately programmed synth plucks complete the foundations. Before long, undulating arpeggios glitter in delayed patterns as counterpoint phrasing adds emotion and guile to create a contemplative offering.

"Nocturne" completes the musical triptych, revelling in a subtle melodic hypnotism that blends acid-tinged loop with flowing analogue motifs. Panning the stereo spectrum with plucked phrases, a magnificent combination of counterpoint melodies rise and fall across a nine-minute magnum opus that results in another string to Sellares' increasingly powerful bow. 

Three new tracks from Sebastian Sellares illustrate a sparkling display of sonic brilliance through the "Dunes at Dawn"."

PREMIERE: Sebastian Sellares - Dunes At Dawn (Original Mix) [meanwhile]

'A welcome returnee to Proton Music, Matter has a host of powerful original and remix material to his name, both under solo and collaborative guises, making him a firm favourite with the label faithful. Through his "Pronoia" and "We Are Dust" EPs, the Australian shone a light on his creative talent in 2016 and 2017, while collaborations with fellow Melbourne resident, GMJ, have seen the duo light up the label with a trio of original EPs. Remixes of Dousk, Embliss and Michael A have shone a different light on Matter's talent as he now returns with a typically impressive sound, characterised by a whip-cracking kick and rolling groove. A trademark bassline full of power and emotion muscles its way across the low end as subtle melodic touches hint at elements from Molosh's original. A glorious progression, layered with textured pads, form the perfect foundation for the piano so redolent in the original to take its rightful place at the centre, as arpeggios from the Matter arsenal wax and wane across the top. Building to a rousing crescendo at the mid-point the sequence hits its stride again in the third movement to incredible effect.'

A truly talented artist with huge following and global appeal, Alex O’Rion continues to go from strength to strength within the world of underground dance. With his work spanning some 15 years of commercial releases, the Dutch master is a welcome returnee to Meanwhile with a stellar quartet of original tracks.

A regular across the industry’s finest purveyors of modern and cerebral progressive house music, Alex O’Rion has constantly found his music featured on such esteemed imprints as Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat, Guy J’s Lost & Found and Nick Warren’s Hope. A regular visitor to the upper echelons of the Beatport charts, over a million Spotify streams in 2020 and 4,000 followers points to broad appeal and wide-ranging support.

Now returning to Meanwhile after a trio of remixes for label head-honchos GMJ & Matter on June 2020’s “Gauntlet” and February 2021’s “The Path”, Alex O’Rion now returns to the label with a devastating 4-track original EP of unrivalled quality.

The “Echium” title track is a blistering sub-bass monster that drives along powerfully on a bed of ticking hi-hats and chest-thumping kick. Building in momentum, smooth pads and effortless synth lines flow across the 8-minute piece before revelling in a stripped-back breakdown. Picking up the pace again in the third movement, gorgeous harmonic overtones layer delicately across each other, borne of never-ending delay sweeps.

“Stranded” continues the powerful rhythmic narrative and otherworldly sonic landscape before a percussive loop provides subtle melodic phrasing. Shifting synth sequences bisect the left-right spectrum as waves of white noise fall against a rocky outcrop of percussive hats. Melodic lines continue to evolve in delicate patterns into the second half in a sonic palette of sheer bliss.

A sumptuous bassline groove propels “The Chase” through its hypnotic paces, accompanied by a chugging rhythmic backdrop. Simultaneously, gentle synth motifs pulsate in side-chained synchronicity as a rich symphony of sound swells into the second half against a plucked earworm phrase. The result is a dynamic and devastating club-friendly track that is sure to inspire a multitude of hands-in-the-air moments.

“The Serpent” ends the quadrilogy with its rippling sound effects that cascade in spiral patterns against a melodious foreground. Delicate percussive patterns marry with a deep resonant kick to provide a rhythmic anchor, giving freeform synth motifs the opportunity to express a meandering sonic voyage that reaches a powerful crescendo at the midpoint. Hitting its stride again in the third movement with additional melodic sequencing, the result is a charismatic end to an outstanding original EP."
