Manchester, UK’s Sony Synth delivers his new EP ‘The Cold’ in February 2024, made up of four original compositions.

Hailing from Ukraine but currently based in Manchester in the UK, Sony Synth has been slowly unveilving his spin on contemporary House in recent years, his productions employ a variety of influences and range from soulful and deep to gritty and acid tinged, finding a home in recent times on the likes of The Hague’ s spclnch, Chippy Chasers and Laguna Records. Here though Sony Synth delivers his new project as a self-released EP to kick start a new year.

Opening the release is ‘The Cold’, fuelled by choppy drum breaks, a vacillating sub bass groove and shimmering keys before the aptly title ‘Eclectic Electric’ shifts focus to shifting stab flutters, modulating synth melodies, airy chords and saturared bass, underpinned by a raw, swinging drum groove.

‘MD Blues’ is up next and sees Sony Synth employing acid bass tones, jazzy chords and playful synth twitches with sturdy, shuffled percussion. ‘Obscure Decisions’ then rounds out the release on a more classic house tip, merging crisp claps, bumpy snares and thunderous kicks with an amalgamation of dubbed out stabs and hip house vocal chants.
