Musicians from diverse backgrounds and different home countries are very much a product of the modern world of dance music production. Leading by example, Gullen and anders. are one such pairing where Spain and Norway join forces to create an impressive debut release on Proton Music complemented by an outstanding remix from Ukrainian mastery.

A man with a passion for the rock music genre, the witnessing of RJD2 as a teenager, opened up a whole new world of possibilities for the young Gullen. Suddenly, dance music became a new avenue supported by sibling curation of important albums. A man used to putting in the groundwork by playing in the clubs of his Barcelona hometown, Gullen hit the production trail in 2014 as he immediately found success with original work signed to Blendwerk, Mind Field and Animate Dummy. Furthermore, a high-profile remix for Traumwelten would see Gullen reworking Norwegian artist, anders. 

anders. himself is no stranger to the production limelight. An active 2015 has seen the young producer establish himself within the upper echelons of the techno arena with a clutch of impressive original productions. Thus, the "Uglens", "Helmelicious/Snus" and "Badeland" EPs have graced such impressive imprints as Traumwelten, Axon and Parquet and picked by Solee to feature on the latter's "Amsterdam Dance Event 215" compilation.

Joining forces for the first time, the "Nostaw/Marzo" EP is a sublime melodic journey through emotive phrases and elegant riffs. "Marzo" presents itself with beautiful piano melodies and haunting phrases. Subtle vocal undertones can be heard in a backdrop that is a welcome addition to the melodic techno genre with its analogue modulation and intelligent counterpoint. "Nostaw" continues proceedings with sumptuous bass motif that acts as a springboard for delayed keys to bounce across the upper frequencies. Mirrored melodic lines then emerge through the course of the six-minute voyage; pronounced hi-hat rhythms supplying urgency.

A single remix comes from Ukrainian master craftsman, Mondkrater. A man with prodigious talent, and former member of the Mode B production outfit, two original EPs in the shape of "Mercury" and "Icarus" hit the Proton catalogues in 2015 to impressive support from across the globe including Stephan Bodzin, Microtrauma and Ryan Davis. Backed by additional work for Klangwelt, Traumwelten and Visceral, Mondkrater's profile rises apace.

Reworking "Nostaw", a thumping techno beat makes its presence felt in the opening phases as echoes of the original, filter into the listener's consciousness. An exquisitely crafted work that develops from subtle bass and percussive groove, Mondkrater's remix evolves into wondrous stepped arpeggio joy as filters open up to create new counterpoint melody in a highly impressive work.

Timmo’s debut Drumcode release ‘We Beat On’ carries a flow through out that gives Timmo his own unique sound that has captured the ears of many highly revered techno DJ’s around the world. Timmo uses hypnotic sounds and phrases whilst he always maintains a thumping techno beat that underlies all the tracks within this EP to maximum effect. Furthermore, there is a ghostly feel amongst Timmo’s tracks that really provide him with his acquired sound, the pads in ‘Canvas’ are a beautiful reminder of this. Timmo also uses strong synth stabs to full effect that juxtapose against the drums to help create the tension and aggression that is present within techno.

Alan Fitzpatrick is back with a three-track EP that encapsulates what Alan’s Drumcode sound is all about. Hard-hitting drums that fire down onto the dance floor like cannon balls. Check! Intense key patterns that are as twisted as they are uplifting. Check! Beautiful melodies that seamlessly interlock with each element. Check! Big-sounding, infectious grooves and killer hooks generously sprinkled with the infamous Fitzpatrick magic over the top. CHECK! In short, this EP is everything we have come to expect from Alan over his long history with Drumcode (this is his 10th EP as a solo artist!), but still his sound remains fresh and super-charged for 2014.

Activist of the French underground techno scene for more than ten years and with releases on prestigious labels such as Mobilee, Correspondant or My Favorite Robot, Nhar is an artist who needs no introduction. 

We're very proud to release his new EP on our humble imprint. 

If Nhar spiritual roots are firmly anchored in a futuristic kind of techno informed by science fiction and new technology, his heart is definitely beating at a much more human pace; his music tinted by the torments and heartaches of human beings. 

Nostromo and Kartveli, the two originals pieces presented here, are futuristic and melodic, enveloped in synthetic pads and strings. They diffuse a warm analog sound and could easily soundtrack a journey on a spinner - those flying cars floating on the night skies of Blade Runner. 
Melodies and vocoders collide and swirl over vintage drums machines and discoid bass lines as you are dreamily watching landscapes of the future through your window. 

The remixes continue with the dreamy robots vibe of the originals while stepping up the energy. 

First, we find Canadian producer Fairmont who takes on Kartveli. 
Another artist who needs no introduction, Fairmont's work is not completely far off Nhar's productions, in the sense that both artists have a real love of melodies and dreamy electronic textures. 
His remix tones down the airiness of the original and adds a mean metallic snare, boosting the driving feel of the track and turning it into a peak time monster. 

Nostromo is revisited by Tunnel Signs who accentuates the techno side of the original with the addition of a disturbing siren and steady beat, it all gets very bleak and darker, especially with the introduction of lethal EBM bass line in the second half of the remix. 

To close the EP and send us to dream of electric sheeps, Franz Kirmann brings a futuristic twist to his ambient and reinvent Kartveli as a romance between a human and a Nexus 6 replicant.

Featuring two tracks ‘Conjure Dreams’ and ‘Conjure Floyd’, both are peak time monsters that introduce two very different elements. ‘Conjure Dreams’ utilises a groovy, melodic bass that is reinforced using tight thumping drums to shatter any dance floor into the universe. ‘Conjure Floyd’ builds into a more ‘heads down’ techno vibe with a very interesting breakdown. Bang! Here's my new album for u!

It’s been 7 years since "7 Dunham Place“ - my first electronic album. An artist album isn't just a compilation of club tracks. It’s a concept that allows experiments, that opens up spaces for narratives, and allows the artist to go really far. At least that is the way I see it. I put everything into it, it was all or nothing. Martin Buttrich and I packed our studio and moved to Brooklyn in 2006. That album is a musical document of my time in and experience of Brooklyn, it sums up a period of my life, and for me it was a natural conclusion.

After "7 Dunham Place" there weren’t enough stories for an album. I was in the mood for straight, banging club tracks - for singles. I’d say that my "Toxic" EP from 2012 marks the end of that period. It was the time when I built my studio in Düsseldorf, and loose stories and ideas slowly intensified and condensed.

We invited guests to jam with us, rock the drum machines, synths and old, raw gear with us. Guti, Miguel de Ipola, Kobe aka Pimp Jackson, Chevy, my old hip-hop crew with whom I used to share stinky hotel rooms and tour buses in 1995. All the dots connected. What was meant to be warm-up sessions with guests, instantly became the sound I was looking for and the soundtracks to these new scenarios.

Then the features came...

There are strong bonds with all artists involved and everything unfolded naturally. I danced to Neneh Cherry's music when I was hip-hop kid, and I still do. Pulshar is one of my favorite bands who's two albums we released on my label Desolat Music Group. With Just Blaze, it was like two hip-hop guys working on something completely different, something harder, and it instantly worked. Jaw is not only that crazy guy who shares Tunisian roots with me, but his voice is special and fitted perfectly. Behind Mr. Techno there is Chris Liebing, super warm and funny guy with whom I share a lot, but whose artistic expression is quite different than mine, so here the opposites collide. Miss Kittin is a long time friend, and it was only her who could have completed that one song. Last but not least there is Giggs. You can’t ignore him if you look out of the US hip-hop box. He is unique. When I met him in London and played him the album, he was totally diggin’ it, he understood where I wanted to go with it, and I had him on board.

There have been so many changes around me since my first album that has become the narrative for "Underground Sound Suicide", and in a way I used music as a transmitter. It comes from the heart and is a testimony of who I am now.

Ultra Music's got my back on this one and the album will be going through the team there. They believe in it, and I'm happy to have them on board. Also here paths are crossing again. David Waxman from Ultra and I know each other since my early gigs in NYC in the early 2000s. Now we write this exciting new chapter together.

Miss Melera is back in action on the influential Chapter 24, with a brand new and brilliant EP that features two great originals as well as Editions from Dave Seaman and Jonas Saalbach.

Miss Melera hails from Amsterdam and has been honing her craft over the last decade. She is a radio regular as well as a touring DJ who plays the finest clubs and festivals around Europe and the Americas. As well as this, she has proven her studio chops are slick and compelling and has released EPs on labels like Parquet and Einmusika before now.

Her first cut here is Magenta, a robust house roller with grumbling bass, dark atmospheres and icy hi hats rolling on top of the groove. It’s a broody back room track with lush synths that subtly uplift the whole affair and keep you locked.

Anyone who approaches Techno music with intelligence and finesse is exactly in the right place with C.7even, because the young Frankfurt-native has her craft down to a tee. She found her way intoelectronic music back in 2009, shaped by many musical genres. Contrary to many others, her style is constantly evolving and driven by the passion to constantly reinvent herself.Groovy-melodic, mystic- hypnotic, straightforward-uncompromising- this is what she embodies, but she still has always a clear vision    her mind of the story that she wants to tell through the medium of electronic sounds. “A DJ set has to make sense to me, Im no fan of the approach to just step behind the decks and blindly improvise my way through my playtime- Im always aware of what it is that I want to convey to my audience. That moment, when you ignite that spark in your audience- when the dancefloor really lets loose and people follow your leadership- that feeling just cannot be bought, that’s why I personally prefer longer sets (4-5 hours or more) over short and compressed playtimes. You can unfold and spread your wings so much more, and the connection between you and your audience gets so much deeper and more intense. In terms of own productions, C.7even doesn’t have anything official under her belt yet- but she doesn’t have to, because good stuff takes his time and her sets more than speak for themselves.“im really not a patient person, that’s why I might need more time than others to complete projects. Luis Junior returns to microCastle for his third appearance here and he provides the first interpretation of 'Aquatika'. The Spanish producer was one of 2010s brightest stars in electronic music. He gained an immense following over the course of the year for his unique and fresh production style that combined melodies, modern day techno sensibilities and an uncanny knack for creating unrelenting, infectious grooves. 'Colache' and 'BG' both for Bedrock and his remix of Cid Inc &amp; Lank's Coronal Mass were 3 of last year's biggest crossover tracks, all which earned support from John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo. 2011 only saw Luis grow even larger with his remixes of Monaque's 'ID' and Infusion's 'Love and Imitation'. Both tracks earned huge worldwide support and massive chart success on Beatport. 2012 has seen another huge success for Luis with the release of his newest production 'Alibi' on his newly founded 'Mooseeka' imprint. For his 'Aquatika' interpretation Luis has once again stripped the track down to its bare bones and delivered a melodic techno rework with a huge cavernous presence that comes with his trademark pristine production. Brazilian producer Andre Sobota had a fabulous 2011 with top notch productions on Mesmeric and Proton. He makes his microCastle debut here and provides the second interpretation of 'Aquatika'. The 23th release on microCastle and first for 2012 comes from a new signing to the label, the Brazilian producer Daniel Oliveira aka DNYO. Daniel is a São Paulo born composer and DJ who after a string of extremely well received remixes for Proton, Vapour and Flow as well as appearances on Anjunadeep under his Danny Loko alias makes his microCastle debut with his 'Aquatika EP'. There are two originals included on the package as well as remixes from Luis Junior, Andre Sobota and Barry Jamieson.

The 'Aquatika' original is a swirling blend of character rich, grainy textures and a pulsating energetic drive that's backed by a deeply emotional theme. It's an amazing journey through a range of melancholic motifs and haunting moments that your dance floor won't soon forget. Already being supported by Hernan Cattaneo and Charlie May 'Aquatika' looks set to be one of the most emotionally satisfying records of the year. The second original on the package is the now highly sought after 'Belvedere'. After being played by Sasha at Ministry Of Sound DNYO's 'Belvedere' began to generate a huge buzz in the electronic underground for its dreamy and heavily textured melodic sounds. The lone interpretation of Belvedere is provided Barry Jamieson who has been on the music scene for over two decades. Barry has remixed Madonna, New Order, Depeche Mode, UNKLE and Seal, to which he was co-nominated for a Grammy. But his experience doesn’t just lie with mainstream artists, as he also worked on remixes for the likes of BT, Bedrock, and Breeder. But of recent, he has spent the last 8 years working alongside Sasha and Charlie May, recording and mixing, especially on the two ground breaking albums by Sasha; Involver and Involver 2. His work with Sasha has seen him working on remixes for The Doves, Damian Lazarus, Little Boots and Hybrid. Not to mention that he was co-owner of Fluid Recordings and one half of Evolution. For his 'Belvedere' remix Barry has brought the composition much closer to the dance floor with a rock solid, mid-set type groove that's accented by all the character laden sounds and lovely gargling synths from DNYO's original.
