Monumental times have arrived for Steyoyoke Recordings, as they venture into unchartered waters. This new project accumulates for years of hard work and marks the release of their very first album titled ‘Equilibrium’. The Steyoyoke artists are united within a unique concept, that utilises the four classical elements of fire, air, water and earth, bringing you a creative expression that reflects a state of balance between art, music and the natural elements. Each track is an original production, however they are grouped accordingly to symbolise a particular element that represents the tracks sound and vibe. In its entirety, the whole album creates its very own state of ‘Equilibrium‘.

His version presents cinematic landscapes and an extra emotional touch to the track. With Sigiriya Piek shows he has no fear to explore new possibilities of structure and rhythm. Being a big fan of Drum and Bass, and other break musical styles, these inspirations reflect on this timeless masterpiece. This Sigiriya has been remixed by talented Dutch man Kid Culture, amazing producer and one of the best Dj that the Netherlands have seen, delivers here an analogue sound delicatessen, strong influenced by classic house and techno.

The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. Welcome back, old friend! It's been quite a while since Valencia-based producer Sylvain Soulier, better known as Darlyn Vlys first appeared on the Upon You Sweet & Sour Series back in 2010 and a lot has happened since then. Now, backed by releases on well respected labels like Sincopat, Terminal M and many others, it's time for Darlyn Vlys to make a big return, serving a massive TechHouse anthem for 2016. The original version of „Colours“ fuses big room TechHouse, a slightly proggy feel and ever morphing Acid references to a great, spiralling and well-enthralling effect, building up nicely before Forrest serves a killer vocal performance that is yet simple, powerful and fascinating, an anthemic array of words that a new generation of punters will never forget once they've heard them on a large rig. Instant classic detected. Our man Ruede Hagelstein strips down things a little in his remix, focusing on the techier, cleaner and more scientific side of the TechHouse spectrum and coming up with a hypnotizing minimalist Acid version backed by an effective two tone, Intelligent Techno-resembling bass and nice floating synth arrangements to be loved by tech purists for a reason. Finally the young German producer Tim Engelhardt is going deep with his version, focusing on gooey, all embracing sawtooth bass beauty and a crystalline, melancholia-inducing motif layered on top of  decent beat foundation gravitating towards uptempo realms for the small hours.

From the prolific mind of Turkish maestro, Erdi Irmak, 2014's "We Won't Sleep Tonight" EP for Intemporal Music illustrated why the Istanbul resident has been so sought after through a swathe of original production material. As "The Hit" now receives its own release on Yin : Yang, a pair of new remixes from Argentina and Hungary make their own contribution.

Robert R. Hardy needs little introduction to underground music cognoscenti. A prolific Hungarian producer, his work since a debut for Sound Vessel in late 2013 has produced a wealth of material signed to some of the finest modern imprints. Thus Stellar Fountain, Soundteller and Clinique has alone accounted for over a century of production credits as 2016 continues to provide a string of successful releases. Supported by such leading lights as Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Ruben de Ronde, Robert R. Hardy makes a very welcome debut on Yang with a typically impressive reworking of "The Hit". 

Taking a sumptuous percussive rhythm section and strong beat to form a central spine, Hardy has intelligently reimagined the melodic phrasing of the original to create a work resonant in the hypnotic themes found in Erdi Irmak's work while simultaneously creating an innovative new approach. The resultant effect illustrates why Robert R. Hardy continues to dominate the underground progressive scene.

A rapidly growing force within the underground dance industry, Mikhail Akulich, has hit the ground running with an ever-expanding portfolio of tracks under his Michael A pseudonym. Now returning to Proton Music, he presents the three-track "Symbol" EP.

From Mozyr, on the Pripyat River, Michael A has continued to reach far beyond the borders of his Belarusian homeland. An artist who is the epitome of modern twenty-first century production techniques, benefitting from the world of social media and dissolving global barriers afforded by modern communication techniques, Michael A continues to cut an impressive figure.

Owner of the celebrated Genesis Music imprint, the Michael A name has consistently found itself allied to a plethora of blue chip labels. A regular on the likes of Balkan Connection, Superordinate and 3rd Avenue, Mikhail's work has also featured on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, with the February 2017 "Micrologica" EP. Over five-hundred production credits can thus be found next to the Michael A name in a short five-year span.

Particles accounts for a score of those credits that have included a wealth of original material, not least in the March 2014, "Behind the Moon" and 2017, "Sapphire" EPs. Remixes for the likes of James Monro, Huminal, and GMJ are a fine corollary and it was an honour to welcome Michael A to the ranks of the Proton Music roster with the highly accomplished "Bright Hope" EP in February 2017. A remix of Luc Angenehm's "Kaiserkraft" quickly followed in April as Michael returns to Proton with the outstanding "Symbol".

The title track revels in a rich percussive groove that clicks and pops its way across the upper frequencies with a wealth of clave and wood block effects. A delicious freeform melodic line waves a magical path in tandem with pulsating side-chained pads that come to the fore in a stripped back breakdown. As bass, rhythm and melody converge in the latter half, Michael A's productions skills are in full evidence.

"Orbital" continues the trademark Michael A groove as a driving beat provides the perfect anchor for an analogue bass line to fill the rhythmic space with consummate ease. A haunting melodic refrain finds its own space in the mid-point breakdown, continuing into the third movement with exquisite precision. Surrounded by stereo-panned effects that increase intrigue, a wonderfully developed sinister edge is inherent in the aural melange.

Final track, "Centaur" hits hard with its opening four-to-the floor beat as off-beat hi-hats, shakers and claves add a further sense of depth and percussive groove. Ethereal pads layer texture and atmosphere as a running bass line adds a subtle sense of dance floor energy. Undulating gently across the seven-and-a-half-minute voyage, Michael A's sonic architecture creates a vibrant and hypnotic work that is sure to find favour across the globe.

As Michael A creates a "Symbol" of impressive depth and variation, the musical vignette within is sure to find the key to success.
