The mysterious Leipzig based duo JAJA released one of favourite albums of 2016 (Tropical Bird Club) on ynfnd (you need friends not discs) and we have been waiting to release something from them on Shika Shika ever since! 

For this Botanas, JAJA serve us up two humid, organic tracks seeped in dark green vegetation and marked by screeching birds from the canopy and mysterious voices from the forest floor. One for the deep groove.

Gux Jimenez returns to Clubsonica Records for his debut EP entitled ‘Remanente | Raices’. Hailing from Cartagena, the Colombian artist first appeared on the Colombian imprint in February of this year with a remix of ‘Traumtanz’ by Movemé. Laying claim to releases on Droid9, Ghost Digital, Nueva and Round Triangle, Gux’s emotive creations have also found favour with some of the world’s most highly regarded DJs, most notably Above and Beyond and Armin Van Buuren. Now embarking on the most anticipated release of his career, Gux returns to Clubsonica with his first original project alongside remixes from Dabeat and Stan Kolev.

The release concludes with Stan Kolev returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of ‘Raices’. The Bulgarian artist has been a mainstay of the electronic music underground for well over a decade, with releases on Armada, Blackhole and Spinnin highlighting his discography. More recently Stan has been dominating Beatport’s Progressive House charts with a string of outings for Beatfreak, Movement Recordings his own Outta Limits imprint. Now following up a contribution to the label’s 2018 ‘MMW Sampler’, Stan returns to Clubsonica with a fresh take on ‘Raices’. Anchored by a warm, well carved groove and firing percussion, there’s an electric mood from the outset. As drifting atmospheres and fragmented vocals descend over the framework, sweeping effects and tranquil motifs tantalize the senses. Anticipation unfolds as the main break progresses, with warm bass swells and clever modulation working in perfect unison, before getting washed away as energy shifts towards a magical drop. A stunning interpretation from Stan Kolev which caps off another must have release from Clubsonica Recordings, who have most certainly gotten 2019 off to a great start.

Bondage Music reveals the latest installment in its ‘Bondage Games’ series this March as Sascha Dive, Frink, Toman and Philipp Gonzales deliver four original compositions for Part 5.
Launched in 2008, German imprint Bondage Music has established itself as quintessential imprint for many within the world of stripped back, high quality house music, releasing material from the likes of Mihai Popoviciu, NTFO, Markus Homm and Tuccillo across the past 12 months alone. Their ‘Bondage Games’ series has also become a key fixture in the calendar, and here we see the label follow up their 2018 instalment with another vinyl only EP this March, with four fresh productions from Sascha Dive, Frink, Toman and Philipp Gonzales.
Frankfurt’s Sascha Dive opens the package with ‘Dark Night’, a slick house cut guided by deep, dubby chords and entrancing vocals, before Frink’s bubbling ‘Vega’ ups the energy and welcomes bright melodies amongst rolling percussion. Next, emerging talent Toman fuses skipping hats and a heady low-end groove as he reveals ‘Time To Time’, before Philipp Gonzales combines hypnotic lead synths, refined percussion arrangements and suspenseful builds throughout ‘Open Hips’.

Romanian duo NTFO return to Bondage Music as they deliver ‘Dobr’ this May.
With releases on the likes of Organic Music, Housewax and (djebali), plus a string of stand-out EP’s via their own labels Sintope and Sintope Digital, Timisoara’s NTFO have established themselves as key names within the realm of minimal and deep house since making their production debut back in early 2008. Having released their ‘Esperantza’ EP on the label last year, here we see the pairing return to Bondage Music in fine form to open their account in 2019 with the impressive ‘Dobr’.
Title cut ‘Dobr’ opens the EP as the duo quickly go to work, introducing a slick blend of sharp drum shots amongst snaking bassline patterns, whilst ‘Blissed Out’ combines organic percussion licks, punch low end tones and warping synth leads to great effect. Next, the first vinyl only track on the package ‘Riddin’ welcomes dubby pads and crisp hats before flowing steadily into the slinking, metallic tones and 303-tinged bass stabs found throughout ‘Standers’.
The digital package is rounded out via an exclusive bonus remix courtesy of label owners Pornbugs who remix title track ‘Dobr’ in style, welcoming smooth chords, hazy background tones and tripped out vocals to close proceedings.

Bondage Music welcome back Markus Homm to mark label’s 50th vinyl release, accompanied by a remix from Pornbugs.
Founded in 2008, German imprint Bondage Music has grown over the past decade to become a central hub for quality productions across the house sphere, releasing recent material from the likes of NTFO, Mihai Popoviciu, James Dexter and Philipp Gonzales to name just a few. Having released four solo EP’s on the label so far in 2019 alone, here we see a special release in the label’s history as they mark the 50th vinyl release on the imprint in style, welcoming back Markus Homm to deliver a special two colour 12” release set to drop in late June.
Opening the package, lead cut ‘Voyage’ sees Homm combine slick, rolling drums amongst a snaking bassline and echoed vocal hooks, whilst rich, deep synths meet refined percussion arrangements and blissful melodies throughout ‘Lost’. ‘The Toll’ wanders forth next, with the first of two vinyl only cuts welcoming dubby chords, metallic drums and hazy atmospherics, before digging even deeper with the stripped back and hypnotic ‘Weissewand’
Lastly, label bosses Pornbugs turn in an exclusive interpretation of ‘Lost’ for those grabbing the digital package, opting for sun-soaked lead melodies and infectious vocal snippets to close out the 50th 12” EP on the label in style.

Monkey Safari’s third album comes in perfect time for the summer sunshine. The duo follow up their last LP, ‘Odyssey’, with this warm, inviting collection of music designed to brighten your day and complement the glorious sunny days that bless us during the summer.
Sven and Lars learned some valuable lessons from their last long-player, and the new album ‘HI’ comes from a far more relaxed, easy-going place.
An organic project that came together quite naturally, their third album sees the duo in high spirits ready to bring a large dose of positive vibes and emotional depth to the party.
Kicking off with ‘Sturm’, we’re immediately immersed in a world of wistful vocals, haunting pads and emotive synth lines. This is music made to move your body and your soul. As an introduction to the album it’s ideal, providing a great juxtaposition between brooding melancholy and uplifting vibes.
Next up is ‘Parallel Lines’, a sombre yet inspiring cut that takes us deep into Monkey Safari’s world. The folk-esque vocals ride the instrumental, which stirs your emotions giving the listener chills up and down their spine. ‘Shangri La’ is a slow burner that wouldn’t feel out of place on the Playa at Burning Man. The sultry cut builds into a crescendo of emotive sounds with a break in proceedings leading into a spine-tingling drop.
Title track ‘HI’ truly embodies the sound of the album. One of those tunes that will resonate with audiences all over the world, the universal feeling of joy it transmits has already been lifting dance floors at festivals and clubs across the world as Sven and Lars have been roadtesting it in their
sets for some time now.
‘Breed’ follows next, with a more downtempo pace allowing space for contemplation. The carefully programmed beats and chimes set a calm tone, encouraging a myriad of thoughts and feelings to rise to the surface. This one builds into cacophony of strings and keys, all delicately aligned to keep the atmosphere meditative. Next is ‘Red’, a more pulsating, insistent cut with a surefire dance floor vibe. Techno fans will be relishing this cut with its hypnotic riff and scintillating pad work.
‘New Day’ lives up to its title, evoking the feeling of those twilight hours when you’re leaving a club at dawn and the day is just beginning to get started. Monkey Safari slowly unveil the brighter side of this cut, in the same way the sun can creep up from the horizon to share its warm glow.
‘Shelter’ brings more emotional depth, with a mournful motif supporting the vocal clip. This one grows into a spinetingling affair with a breakdown that uses new wave-esque synth lines to really get you pumped with energy.
The penultimate track ‘Walls’ utilises a silky vocal once again to take us into a joyous zone. This is the kind of track that encourages you to get close to a loved one, share an intimate embrace and close your eyes as the vibrations take you to another dimension. Slow, seductive and soulful in equal measure.
Finally, ‘Love To Exist’ closes the album. A love-filled song produced with passion by the duo, who leave the listener on a high with this final cut.

Focused on quality and uniqueness of music rather than its genre, WAYU Records welcomes Aetius Boutefoy for his debut release. The Dusseldorf bred, Siena based producer burst onto the scene in summer 2018 with work on A Must Have and Audiometrica. Nearly one full year later, “Metaleda” coincides with his latest EP on Inward Records! According to Aetius, the title track invokes “a bit of everything.” Its rolling grooves, hazy atmos and ethnic instrumentation come partially in thanks to No:mad. By utilizing tribal percussion and woodwinds, the globetrotting live set guru takes listeners on "a magic carpet ride to every corner of the galaxy.”

As one of Japan’s most prolific electronic music producers, Hideo Kobayashi specializes in soulful deep house and floor-smashing techno. Back in March, he launched his own label to push these divergent sounds. Standard Music thus serves as a model for “quality, functional and beautiful” above all else! For its next release, RIWIN takes that sentiment to a whole new level. The Balinese musician and spiritual healer once played in popular Indonesian bands called Pahama and Tropical Transit. When not riffing with the latter, he can now be found mixing electronic music. Rising from his home studio, “Bali Cloud” gushes smooth atmos, soft percussion and balearic guitar.
