It was nearly a year ago when these two graced with their hugely successful track ‘Hope’ on our ‘Watergate XV’ various artist compilation. Matthias Meyer and Ryan Davis come together again to deliver the stunning ‘Love Letters From Sicily’ where infectious organic grooves pave the way for a flourishing well of emotions in the form of lush pads and shimmering sonics that unfold into a tale of epic cinematic proportions. From start to finish it’s a intimate piece of aural imagery, yet the duo always keep a keen percussive focus making it ideal for any dancefloor moment. 

To complement ‘Love Letters from Sicily’, we’ve enlisted the one and only John Digweed to rework Meyer and Davis’ original of ‘Hope’, and with no surprise, he’s given it the master’s touch. Staying true to the original, while at the same time reinventing the storyline and constructing tension by saving the powerful harmonies for a later climax, he’s crafted a revision that’s both driving and timeless.

Fresh faces Christoph Deckert and Christian Schilgen aka Deorbiting concoct delightfully level-headed string-based music in the Paranorama EP which includes two originals, one collaboration and three remixes. Paranorama is a lofty, majestic string-ridden composition, where sounds bounce like clouds off the fluid production. Synths adorn expansive pads in an overall immersive ambience that enchants and animates. Niko Schwinds remix takes a more dubby approach, while subtly maintaining the initial unrepressed atmosphere. Next up, Kalipo manages to reimagine the track into a riff-heavy, synth-indulging experience. Cara No, a joint effort with Aaaron, unveils a more moody setting, following in the same pensive yet stimulating resonance. On the flipside, Zero Wing showcases a gloomy soundscape with glitched out pads and eerie details. Sunken piano keys add to the melancholy, elevating the multi-layered construction. Kuriose Naturale adds shrilling bits and spiralling loops of impending doom, offering a more dramatic and acid-tinged version of the original.

Particles has always played a prominent role in supporting new names. November 2018 is no different as we welcome collaborative pairing, Dual Flux and their "Escape From Awareness".

Comprising a pair of Serbian talents, Janko Dragovic and Goran Ferenc are well-known in their native country. Moreover, as Desaturate, Dragovic has forged an impressive production career, first as part of the Progress Inn outfit and second, under his newer Desaturate soubriquet. It is with Desaturate that Dragovic has seen over a century of releases with appearances on a plethora of leading imprints including Balkan Connection, One Of A Kind and Visceral. Proton Music and Particles have also played a significant role in the development of the Desaturate name with 2016's "The Unholy Mountain" a wonderful solo affair and the "Spirals" and "Crouch/Cursed" EPs with Rick Pier O'Neil in 2015 and 2016, and "Unite/Divide" with Forniva in July 2017, showcasing a wealth of production talent.

Now joining forces with fellow Belgrade musician, Goran Ferenc in early 2018, Dual Flux was born. Originally released on Bandcamp in October, despite Serbian label interest, Dragovic and Ferenc wanted to release their debut EP themselves, including all aspects of the production process and original artwork. Now debuting on Particles, "Escape From Awareness" sees a quintet of tracks take flight.

Featuring an eclectic blend of styles, from house and deep house to electronica and breaks, all five offerings features a wealth of instrumentation with guitar licks and searing solos a constant reminder of the duo's talents. The breakbeat and percussive patterns and piano chops of "Distant Futures" blend effortlessly into the smooth melodic phrasing and soaring guitar of "Sideliners".

The angular beats of and head-shaking rhythms of "To the Core" provide a laidback groove as languid bassline and filtered motifs blend with a repeated vocal cut. Continuing with an array of smooth melodic sequences and hypnotic four/four rhythmic foundation, "Depend" supplies a strong framework for rich, freeform guitar passages to ripple enticingly throughout. Final track "Take Control" provides a more up-tempo moment with frenetic percussion and slap-bass groove. Guitar and synth melodies bounce off each other with ease resulting in a highly original piece redolent in modern production techniques.

An innovative quintet of tracks paints a vivid picture as Dual Flux engage their creativity and "Escape From Awareness".

House Music With Love return with another one of their fresh EPs, this time from the dream team of Kaldera and Lazarusman with remixes from Urmet K, SURAJ and Simina Grigoriu & Moe Danger. 

Kaldera a producer from Northern Europe and Lazarusman a poet from Southern Africa and their rhythmic, spiritual journey always makes for real musical adventures. That is the case here with Oceans of My Mind, a deep, swelling house tune with great chords and a dark bassline. The thought provoking vocals drift up top as the turbulent grooves roll on and bring real class to the floor. 

The Urmet K remix is more blissful and laid back, with breezy chords and gentle beats rolling you into a trance. SURAJ then layers in plenty of cosmic melody, gives centre stage to the poetic spoken world vocal which brings a romantic feel to the tune. Then last of all Simina Grigoriu & Moe Danger close things out with a more direct, techno leading version that has brilliantly frazzled chords and deriving drums taking you deep into an eerie night. 

This is a versatile and vital EP that covers plenty of ground in real style.

Based in the world, made in Berlin and powered by the audience: this is Einmusika Recordings. Founded by label boss Einmusik end of 2008, the imprint has grown to a large family with members from Beirut, Toronto, Madrid, Amsterdam and many more cities. To celebrate 10 Years of it’s creative journeys and visions, Einmusika asked some friends and highly respected musicians to pick their favourite track from the past 10 Years for a very particular remix. 

So this time we’ll bring ya „J’oublie“ remixed by Olivier Giacomotto - a big dancefloor number. Dave Seaman remixed Tim Engelhardt’s “Vega“ and this one stays in your mind for hours. 3000 Grad founder Mollono.Bass comes with a new version of “Multiple Life“ by Einmusik - one for the hot nights and the festivals around the globe. We asked Julian Wassermann about his fave Einmusika track and he picked “La Danse Du Scorpion“ by Sébastien Léger - the one which made the clubs shaking in 2017 and is now putted to the next level with a darker attitude and clubby sounds. Emotional and uplifting comes Paji’s version of “Starlings“ by N’to, what an unique remix - individual and spheric.

Einmusik - Multiple Life (Mollono.Bass Remix)

Sag & Tre is proud to present the first volume of the "Freshly Picked" compilations featuring a range of hand-selected music to kick off the New Year, 2019.

Featuring scene stalwarts signed to labels/collectives such as All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Rebellion der Traumer, Dream Culture, Where The Heart Is + more, the compilation is set to turn heads, and stay in your record box for a while. The compilation also features a couple of newcomers, who compliment the entire piece offering something new, instead of deducting from the experience.

Elias Dore is the next announced artist for this compilation. Originally from Berlin, Elias explored many facets of music, but what has over time stayed with him is his love for melodic warmth and organic sounds. Elias has been trusted to provide warmup support for Rampue, Nico Stojan, Mira, Nicola Cruz, Holger Hecler and many more. While he regularly plays in Berlin’s well known clubs such as Sisyphos or Katerblau, he recently picked up some producing boots and made this beautifully unique composition called “Ayasa”.

This is one of the many Sag & Tre fruits off the compilation, all to be revealed before December 25th, when the compilation is up for pre-order. 

Artists like Powel, Jean Caillou and Ramiro Rossotti have already been announced to appear on the compilation. “Freshly Picked Vol. 1” will release on all digital stores and streaming services on Friday, January 4, 2019.

Premiere: Odagled - The Depth (Original Mix) [Gooseneck Records]

Providing a late summer EP of the highest quality, GMJ and Matter once again showed their collaborative prowess. Through "Interscope" the duo created a stunning twin-track EP, now revitalised in 2019 with remixes from Argentinean and Moldovan talents.

An Argentinean artist with a rich musical provenance to his name, Nicolas Rada, has shone brightly within the underground dance fraternity. An accomplished pianist with an inherent understanding of musical composition, an impressive DJ career has risen in tandem with memorable production work including over a century of credits on the Balkan Connection family of labels. Moreover, it is with iconic DJ and celebrated producer, Nick Warren that the duo has found a strong collaborative relationship in 2018 with the standout "Land of Dreams" EP for Warren's The Soundgarden imprint a notable June highlight. Bookended by remixes of Eelke Kleijn for DAYS like NIGHTS and Mark Slee and Atish for Manjumasi, Rada's remix of Andre Sobota in December 2017 marked an impressive debut for Proton Music, now followed by a standout reworking of the Australian duo. Taking on "Interscope", the Nicolas Rada remix is redolent in a trademark rhythmic groove that drives the track forward with deep kick and intricate percussion. Using GMJ and Matter's original components to create an elegant framework, new melodic motifs make their presence felt as the track evolves. From the mid-point onwards, a chorus of additional production material sees counterpoint motifs play off each other in coruscating beauty to create a wonderful new interpretation.

The self-proclaimed 'double-headed dragon' sees Moldovan duo, Alex and Andrew take form as Lanvary. Both respected DJs and artists, the duo's diverse musical backgrounds have found them in much demand as they experiment with sonic ideas, "melting various ingredients in their musical kitchen". Making their 2010 debut for Underphunk Recordings, the duo has gone on to celebrate 150 production credits for some of the finest modern underground labels, including Stellar Fountain, Mistique Digital and Suffused Music. Regulars on Particles, a series of original EPs have continued to showcase the Lanvary sound as the twin-track "Micromegas" debut in 2015 was quickly followed by "Slingshot Ride" and "Penumbra" in 2016 and "Leviathan" in 2017. Graduating onto Proton Music, December 2017's "Venus" EP was a strong debut that went on to see reworkings from LADS and Soulwerk, while remixes of Matter and Hot TuneiK are now followed by a third in the shape of the Lanvary remix of "To The Stars". Creating a deep and subtle groove, Lanvary have fashioned a wonderful rhythmic foundation that bristles with percussive intent as a warm bassline supplies further substance. Simultaneously, a new melodic riff makes its presence felt in hypnotic beauty while a swathe of effects and innovative sound design give rise to the "Odd Galaxy" title. Using GMJ and Matter's components to inventive effect, the result is another impressive offering from the Lanvary production stable.

Remixes from Nicolas Rada and Lanvary have given GMJ and Matter's "Interscope" a vibrant new direction.

Chris Cargo has been a household name within the melodic progressive house realm since the late 90s. Over two decades later, the Belfast native heads his own Proton-powered record label. With its fifth release, If You Wait continues building a catalog as impressive as its owner’s background. Cologne’s Galexis follows Graeme L, Francesco Pico and Weird Sounding Dude in bolstering the budding imprint’s roster. The title track of his debut EP, “Gravity,” is the German’s heftiest work yet!

Far less often than I would like or plan to do so, I produce music. As I have become busier in other areas of the underground dance scene, the time between tracks also increases. So, following up on my "Breathless" EP for Proton Music in March 2011, I'm extremely proud to now release "Opiate" with remixes from LADS and Michael A.

Heavily influenced by the sounds of Stephan Bodzin, Patrice Baumel and ARTBAT, "Opiate" started life as intro I'd written for another project. It sat on my hard drive waiting to be turned into a full track and I'm indebted to Jamie Stevens for helping me turn it into something I feel is quite special. Driven by a desire to create cascading arpeggio melodies with a deep resonating bassline and driving beat, the result was sculpted into shape with the help of Jamie's exacting eye for detail and encyclopaedic production knowledge.

The first remix comes from German and South African duo, LADS. Luc Angenehm has produced some amazing tracks for Proton Music under his own name before joining forces with Deep Suite. The 2016 "Kaiserkraft" and "Isabel" EP were glorious examples of Angenehm's work before the pair came together to create the stunning "Miss Jean" and "Hagel" EPs in September 2017 and May 2018. Other work for You Plus One and Nie Wieder Schlafen have showcased burgeoning talents while LADS have also been regulars on my Visceral radio show and compilation series. Reworking "Opiate", LADS have created a beautifully delicate and elegant interpretation that focuses on one of the key melodic themes, combined with an untreated vocal cut, to create a sublime remix. Adding a stripped back rhythmic foundation, a new stepped arpeggio sits atop in exquisite synchrony with emotive bassline to create a very special new version.

Belarusian, Michael A, is another artist who has had a very strong relationship with Proton Music since his February 2017 "Bright Hope" debut. "Symbol", "My Style" and "Aura Tears" quickly followed throughout the rest of 2017 and early 2018. As prolific as he is talented, Michael's work has continued to find its way on to a host of stellar imprints that include Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat, Cid Inc.'s Replug and Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital, additionally supported by the likes of Nick Warren and Guy J. Over 750 production credits now grace the Belarusian's portfolio as he continues to chart an all-conquering path through the underground dance scene. With a typically melodious approach, the Michael A remix takes "Opiate" on a rip-roaring voyage that harnesses the central arpeggio motif from the original and builds a luxurious and textured new reworking around it. Combining a host of additional production work, a new arpeggio riff can be heard as textured chord progressions, rich bassline and white-noise infused effects sparkle over seven-and-a-half minutes. A sumptuous rolling groove adds further to another sparkling Michael A remix.

Remixes from LADS and Michael A have seen "Opiate" hit a new high.

Cid Inc's Replug Records gets 2019 underway by welcoming Anton MAKe back to the label for a brand new EP. The Russian artist made his debut on the Finnish imprint in August of 2016 with 'Naja Nova', a three track EP in collaboration with fellow countryman Shamil OM. In addition to an appearance on Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings, 2018 saw Anton return to Replug with a contribution to the label's highly regarded 'Defined' series. Now getting the new year underway in style the Russian artist presents his first solo EP for the label entitled 'Divo'. 

Anton's affinity for mystical storyboarding has never been more profound than on the lead piece 'Divo'. Anchored by a hypno-groove and sultry rhythmic structures, it's a production that flows through a myriad of free form motifs. Highly dramatic throughout, ghostly synths and astral effects converge for moments of sonic integrity, while timely drum fills and emerging atmospheres add to its mysterious charm. Redolent synth swells then come in waves, gently evolving across several well timed breaks, before soulful strums put a cap on this meditative gem.

Further diversifying his portfolio Anton showcases a deeper sound on 'OII'. Beautifully constructed, it's tight rhythmic framework is adorned with tepid overlays and wistful qualities. Evocative in nature, it's a creation where the sum of its parts exceeds expectation, relying on harmonic resonance, cosmic designs and a brief but euphoric theme to deliver it's spiritually uplifting message.

The release concludes in fine fashion with the exquisite vibes of 'Mandorlato'. Beginning with chunky bass stabs and spacey atmospheres, it's laid back cadence flows while layers of drums assemble in a lush organic space. Surreal and dream like, tonal creativities and fragmented sonics trail across the framework, smoothly shifting energy into an emotive interlude. Replete with reflective qualities it's an impassioned finale to a stunning collection of music from Anton. One of artistic growth and boundless creativity, setting up what should be a memorable year for the Russian artist.

As a rising star with an impressive 2018, Mio and His Flute found himself integral to the Particles artist roster. Now returning to the label, the German producer presents "Ping Pong in Space".

With his Particles debut, "Barbecue on the Moon" debut, Mio and His Flute created a wonderful slice of progressive heaven. Now, the title track of his sophomore effort is full of the Freiburg artist's trademark attention to detail as elegantly crafted rhythms and freeform lead riff give a distinctive flavour of far off lands. Meandering across a near ten-minute journey, the track waxes and wanes, held together by a metronomic four/four beat and a raft of panned effects and club-friendly rhythms. "Brimborium" is characterised by a wonderful plucked earworm riff repeated in hypnotic fashion while a subtle percussive groove is the perfect backdrop. Final track, "Summa Summarum" continues the penchant for strong melodic lines as an intricate riff works in syncopated fashion with robust groove and middle-eastern timbres. Pausing for breath at the mid-point with rich pad tones, the third movement creates a mesmerising and original work.

Both successful artists in their own rights with music signed to Balkan Connection, Clinique and Superordinate, the Argentinean pair of N'Pot and Nahue Juarez hit the headlines with their 2016 "Selcouth" EP for Stellar Fountain, before "Endless Summer" showcased the duo's talents on Particles in April 2018. The four-track offering shone a spotlight on the duo's collaborative work together and it a pleasure to welcome them back to the label remixing Mio and His Flute. Taking "Ping Pong Space", N'Pot and Juarez have generated a clever remix that builds upon the elements in the original, turning them into a deep, club-friendly track. Adding a swathe of additional sounds and melody N'Pot and Juarez have retained the themes of Mio's work while creating an innovative new narrative.

Argentinean, Antrim, is no stranger to success in the underground dance scene with over 400 production credits found against the Cordoba resident's name for the likes of Balkan Connection Perspectives Digital and Clubsonica. Supported by a DJ elite that includes Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn and Hernan Cattaneo, his debut on the "Summer Particles 2014" compilation with "Metheny", went on to see a release of its own with remixes from GMJ and Simos Tagias. January 2018's "Dizziness" was a further highlight as Antrim now returns with a glorious club-friendly remix of "Brimborium". Redolent in pulsating bassline emotion, Mio and His Flute's central melody soon comes to the fore anchoring the Antrim remix to the original. Building effortlessly, a sublime a new riff appears in the third movement along with sumptuous pads and a rolling clave percussion to create a strong and mature reworking.

A trio of new tracks alongside remixes from N'Pot and Nahue Juarez and Antrim have found Mio and His Flute champion of "Ping Pong in Space".

Since their collaborative debut in 2016, Kamilo Sanclemente and Dabeat have embedded themselves into the contemporary prog house scene. In only two years, the longtime friends have released for elite imprints like Parquet Recordings, Perspectives Digital and FSOE UV. Another blue-chip backer of the genre, Mango Alley also featured the duo on its last ADE comp. Just a few months later, the Moscow label presents Kamilo and David's premier extended play. Through a multitude of moving parts, Bside “Implant” sinks into its audience’s consciousness like a hypnotic pendulum.

At the "crossroads of shape, sound and expression," United Colors of Rhythm offers a new perspective on electronic music. For the second time in less than a year, the imprint loads its pallet with many shades of Indie Dance! The second volume of its self-titled comp features both foreign and familiar talents. Eclectic roster addition Nova Materia closes the release with “Speak in Tongues.” Utilizing the original’s "found sounds," ALI X x XIMENA also make their label debut. As the founding member of Azari & III, Ali’s roots mixing house and rock certainly run deep. The duo’s remix thus evokes grainy synths, eerie vox and more lively instrumentation.

As one of Japan’s most prolific electronic music producers, Hideo Kobayashi specializes in soulful deep house and floor-smashing techno. Back in March, he launched his own label to push these divergent sounds. Standard Music thus serves as a model for “quality, functional and beautiful” above all else! For its next release, RIWIN takes that sentiment to a whole new level. The Balinese musician and spiritual healer once played in popular Indonesian bands called Pahama and Tropical Transit. When not riffing with the latter, he can now be found mixing electronic music. Rising from his home studio, “Bali Cloud” gushes smooth atmos, soft percussion and balearic guitar.
