No — not in the historical sense.
Jesus of Nazareth was:
•	A Jew (by ethnicity, religion, and cultural identity)
•	Born in Bethlehem of Judea
•	Lived in the Galilee region
•	Practiced Second Temple Judaism
•	And was called “King of the Jews” — even by His executioners.
The word “Palestinian”, as we understand it today, did not exist in Jesus’ time as an ethnic or national identity.

1.	The term “Palestine” was imposed by the Roman Empire after Jesus’ time, especially by Emperor Hadrian around 135 CE — as a way to erase “Judea” and suppress Jewish memory following the Bar Kokhba Revolt.
o	He renamed the land “Syria Palaestina”, borrowing the term from the Philistines, ancient enemies of Israel.
2.	Modern Palestinian identity is a 20th-century national formation, rooted in Arab populations living in the region of Palestine under the British Mandate (post-WWI).
3.	Calling Jesus “a Palestinian” today is often used politically:
o	To express solidarity with modern Palestinians suffering under occupation.
o	Or, in more provocative rhetoric, to detach Jesus from his Jewishness, which is both historically and theologically incorrect.

✡️ Jesus was a Jew — and always will be.
He read Torah. He taught in synagogues. He called Himself sent to the “lost sheep of Israel.”
🌍 Jesus was also born in a land that has since become contested.
Bethlehem now lies within the modern West Bank, which many today refer to as Palestinian territory.
But saying “Jesus was Palestinian” is like saying “Aristotle was Macedonian in the Yugoslavian sense.”
It's an anachronism, not a fact.

6. Truth Does Not Need a Passport

Every year on the Playa brings new lessons. Some are complex, some are simple reminders. For the two of us this past year, the message was "back to basics." As hyper-analytical DJs, we're prone to focusing on performance from a critical viewpoint: did we gauge the energy level correctly, were our transitions dialed in? But this year, playing after the sunrise on Friday, seeing so many friends and campmates out for a morning dance reminded that the point of all this is a simple one: coming together and sharing moments of joy. A wonderful and welcome wake-up call. Thanks to Robot Heart for setting the stage!

The immediately infectious ‘Little Wonder’ has a timeless quality that makes exceptional music become so treasured. Martin Merkel creates a masterful blend of switching elements as he layers atmospheric excellence over a deeply powerful percussive groove. Building on the original’s complexity, Simon Berry & Luke Brancaccio proceed to lift the track to another level with their remix. A sophisticated, pulsing groove, blended with teasing acidic motifs, this is a master-class in subtle genius as they build a voyage into the realms of peak-time Techno with a distinct filmic, emotive edge. This new duo’s recent output is already finding favour with the likes of John Digweed, Kolsch, Yotto, Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Coyu, Victor Ruiz and many other top DJs; and with a new single lined up on Yousef’s Circus label for the New Year, this remix is a taste of more excellence to come.

In perfect contrast to the infectious energy of ‘Little Wonder’, and completing this introductory package perfectly, Martin Merkel’s delightfully different ‘Constantin’ is built on an almost tranquil, low-slung groove, enhanced with hypnotic pulsating motifs and distinctive layers of intricate, heart-melting, melody rich, mood changing moments – a perfect teaser for his album coming in January 2018.

Originally inspired as an artist by the experimental attitude of Italo Disco and the embryonic Techno scene, via parties at the likes if Dorian Grey and Omen (Frankfurt) and Tresor (Berlin), Martin Merkel’s nascent career saw him develop an early love of analogue synthesisers – and saw him fill his studio with a desirable collection of Moog, Roland and Waldorf machinery. In recent years he has moved towards a more compact, travel-friendly digital studio set-up, but his love of synthesisers remains a defining characteristic of his uniquely distinctive musical output today. A master of sonic excellence and musicality, his creations have previously often crept out on the likes of Cinematique, Bonzai, Secondary Tones, JOOF, Monkey Business, Neverending and his own Shelter 54 imprint. Now, under the auspicious guidance of Platipus Records the most exciting new chapter of his career is about to begin.

March 2017's "Lost Again" once again saw Canadian Tim Penner at his vibrant best. With its beautiful melodic phrasing and glorious vocal layers, the title track was a highlight in Proton Music's release schedule, going on to see remixes from Subandrio and Simos Tagias. As Yin and Yang now return to the EP, two new interpretations from the USA and Russia provide renewed anticipation.

Burning brightly in early 2018, New York City's Mir Omar "Suddenly" hit the headlines for Solarstone's Pure Progressive imprint. Seeing his work supported by the leading DJ elite including Hernan Cattaneo and Aly & Fila, Omar himself is no stranger to life behind the decks as his sets "create the perfect catalyst to intoxicate a crowd." With appearances at such famous NYC hotspots as Cielo, Output and Schimanski, Mir Omar looks set to continue his impressive DJ career with further success in the production arena. 

Making his debut for Yang, the Mir Omar remix has all the hallmarks of a gloriously smooth and emotive piece that revels with coruscating string sequences that herald Tim's vocal lines. Using the melodies central to the original, Mir's remix extends them into new and exciting directions as they build in the breakdown before erupting in the third movement with heavy kick and subatomic bassline. A ticking percussive cadence adds further interest in a remix that is an exciting glimpse of the U.S. producer's future.

Blaktone - Under My Skin (Nicolas Masseyeff Remix) **PREVIEW SNIPPET**

Marking a milestone for their fledgling label, Adana Twins present the very first Various Artists compilation to be released on TAU. ‘Spektrum’ comprises eight fresh cuts from a diverse lineup of artists representing the Twins’ community of friends and musical acquaintances. In keeping with TAU’s ethos there are lesser-known talents side by side with more established exponents of the underground.

The VA kicks off with the Adana Twins themselves, delivering the melodrama on a cut named ‘Jumanji’. The rhythm is simple yet deadly, with a juddering low end and spinetingling synth lines. The tension builds gently, until we reach a crescendo towards the end of the track. Innellea is next with ‘The Things We’ve Accomplished Together’, a dark cut underpinned by a dour atmosphere. The main riff feels familiar as it increases the pressure, rousing you into a state of ecstatic energy. Ede & John Falke take us into dark wave territory with their moody cut, which feels as though it’s come straight from eighties synth heaven. Next we take a trip into the humid canopies of the jungle with Santiago Garcia & Speaking In Tongues. ‘Lost In A Jungle’ features a myriad of exotic sounds, tribal rhythms and percussion straight out of the Amazon. Enchanting mysti- cism and wild allure make this one a very special cut indeed.

Track 5 is Mulya & Sobek’s ‘Upfront Venture’, a simmering journey into the depths. A modulated low end grumbles and snarls, increasing the tension alongside a dainty riff. Steadily building into a breakdown that will send shivers down your spine. This is followed by more tribal-inspired music, this time from Nenor & Eyal Rob who use indigenous vocal clips and organic-sounding drums to create a mesmerising composition on ‘Odehya Nbiya’. Luis Junior plays with our minds on ‘Tuning Instruments’, a playful motif forms the main body of this cut, which is twisted and warped during an epic breakdown, before we’re treated to a soothing bassline. Last up, German don Daniel Bortz takes us ‘Down To The Moon’ with an exquisite roller full of dreamy atmospherics and laid back vibes. A fitting finale to an excellent collection of music.

Jaw Dropping Records EP - brought to you by no one less than Marc Molina and Calypse. Just in time for the hottest season! Marc was born and raised in Barcelona and is known for super groovy productions on labels like Frequenza. Maura and Shana both make the female only DJ duo Calypse. They are based in Rome and are the perfect fit for this Southern European co-production EP. “Free Souls” is the name of the main track of the release. The influence by both their warm Southern regions are undeniable. They created a house track carried by a round kick and driving hi-hats with a catchy and deep synth melody and club-ready drops.

Here comes Peter Groskreutz. His remix of the title track is faster and darker but on the same side hold on to the the catchiness of the original. The perfect edition for a diverse release that provides music to music lovers of all kinds!
