A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations series returns for its seventeenth instalment, this time curated by Above & Beyond’s Tony McGuinness. Regularly livestreaming extended deep sets on Twitch, Tony continually demonstrates his affinity for groove-laden tracks, and his capabilities as a selector of deep house are on show on this new four-track EP.

Kicking off the compilation, Fingerprint, a new project from Tony McGuinness, and rising Anjuna star Spencer Brown collaborate on ‘Santorini’. Leading with cascading synths and bouncing drums the dynamic duo demonstrate their renowned production techniques. 

Next up, Argentinian based DJ and producer Sebastian Sellares marks his Anjunadeep debut with ‘Garden of Eden’, featuring a bold bass and ambient melodies. Third track ‘Petrichor’, from Brazil’s RIGOONI presents a marked contrast in tone, and shows off the delicate production style that’s earned him releases on Balanced Music, The Soundgarden and Higher States.

Closing the EP is collaborative cut ‘Central Park’ from Sevastopol native Mango and Qatar’s A.M.R. Leading with emotive piano chords, the duo showcase their intricate sound design that has seen them both release on notable labels including Monstercat Silk.

On July 15, Khen and Shai T deliver the sixth & seventh singles from 'The Deep Mixes' compilation. 

Hailing from Tel Aviv, Khen is a renowned global touring artist known for inimitably deep, dark, and intense productions. Alongside the likes of Guy J, Guy Gerber and Sasha, he has emerged formidably out of the Israeli electronic music hot bed onto the international stage.  Khen made his label debut on Anjunadeep in 2018 with his primal double cut ‘Closing Doors / Burgundy'. Now, his deep house remix of Above & Beyond’s “Every Little Beat” marks the Israeli producer’s first release on Anjunabeats. 

Featuring the vocals of Richard Bedford (the voice of hits like "Sun & Moon" and "Thing Called Love"), "Every Little Beat" is an emotive single from Above & Beyond's acclaimed ‘Group Therapy’ album. 

“Like thousands of producers in my generation, Above & Beyond has been a big inspiration to me over the last 20 years. To get to do an official remix for them is a dream come true,” says Khen.

Another Israeli, All Day I Dream label regular Shai T debuted on Anjuna with an appearance on last year’s ‘Anjunadeep Explorations 13’ EP. His productions have been regularly supported by Tony McGuinness in his popular deep sets on Twitch, and he has achieved multiple Beatport #1 singles in the last year. This remix is his Anjunabeats label debut.

“Sweetest Heart” also hails from Above & Beyond’s 2011 ‘Group Therapy’ album, and features the iconic vocals of frequent collaborator Zoë Johnston.

"It was a special feeling to remix an Above & Beyond track… re-touching Zoë Johnston's vocals felt like remixing a choir of angels,” Shai T says.

'Antrim’s Or Two Strangers begins the new year by welcoming Analog Jungs back to the label for a new EP. 2019 saw the Cordoba duo deliver their well received ‘Universe / Particle’ EP for the label, while also showcasing their music on Balkan Connection, Beat Boutique, Droid9 and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. Alsoa favourite of progressive house tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo, Analog Jungs now return to their comfortable of Or Two Strangers with ‘Liria’ alongside a remix from Kamilo Sanclemente& Mauro Aguirre.

Beginning with the title track ‘Liria’ Analog Jungs explore the deeper spectrum of progressive minded house. Its warm, full bodied groove is perfectly sculpted, flowing through emotive chord changes while finely tuned percussion and joyous arps add a buoyant flair. Rising atmospheres elevate mood as the main break commences, with creamy tones adding to the melodic narrative. Eventually melting down to an iridescent glow of colour and texture, the near two minute centrepiece might be the most impassioned moment of Analog Jungs career. Sure to capture the heart of your dance floor before perfectly shifting energy into a driving finale. The companion piece ‘Ocean’ continues the warm, inviting ethos of the EP with a robust, rolling groove, lively rhythms and waves of fiery percussion. Mysterious yet musical, it’s timely shades and tones create stirring moments, before giving way to clustered melodic concepts leading into the break. The lone interpretation of ‘Liria’ is provided by Kamilo Sanclemente& Mauro Aguirre. The Colombian duo provided progressive music fans with memorable moments in the second half of 2019, with releases on Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings and Proton Music, while also contributing to Clubsonica’s ‘MMW Sampler’ in 2018. Now coming together for the first time in 2020, Kamilo and Mauro round out the release with a stunning interpretation of ‘Liria’. Tough and driving, the groove commands a large presence as melodic fragments and astral effects adorn the framework. Evolving with a veteran’s savvy, timely drops and tasteful modulation provide a rising wave of tension, as piercing stabs continue to push momentum forward. Spanning almost three minutes in length the main break is a journey into redolent melodies, haunting atmospheres and ghostly wails, all perfectly intertwined and setting the stage for a euphoric finale. An inspired remix from the Kamilo and Mauro which rounds out a welcome return to Or Two Strangers for Analog Jungs, a duo who continue to operate at a creative peak.'
