2020 Premieres

We have noticed one thing over the years of playing shows, meeting artists, exchanging music and having conversations with people all over the world. That we are surrounded by a community of musicians, producers and music lovers which acts as an inspiring, uniting force. For that reason this fourth Shika Shika compilation is called Union or Unión: "the action of joining together or the fact of being joined together".

These are 13 tracks of music without borders, music that unites, music that brings together different styles, rhythms, influences, languages and cultures to create something richer, something fresh, something different. That is how music evolves and has always evolved, uniting sounds and creating something new. 

We are really happy to present lots of artists who are new to the Shika Shika collective alongside some old friends. Hard to categorise so we let the tracks speak for themselves.

We hope you enjoy our homage to unity, thank you for the support and thank you to all the talented artists for sharing their music with us!

GMJ & Matter - Lost On Origin

The latest release from Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint welcomes B.A.X. back to the label for his debut EP. The Vietnamese artist first appeared on Belgian imprint in January of this year with a remix of Madloch & Subnode’s ‘Lion’s Mane’. Classically trained and borderless in his approach to production, the Ho Chi Minh City resident has also found a home on fryhide, Manual Music and Sound Avenue affiliate 3rd Avenue. Now embarking on one of the most creative projects of his career B.A.X. presents his ‘Serenade to Earth’ EP.

During a tumultuous year, Stellar Fountain stayed right on track. Its latest endeavor culminates with a new sublabel! Thus, Stellar Limited features offbeat sounds that don’t suit the main imprint. Its debut release comes from a similarly budding artist. Based in Copenhagen, GÆO is a graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Music. Their first original production, “Touch, Grip, Release,” aptly samples a string quartet. Stoked by deep atmos and 4x4 beats, “Release” ends things on a somber note.
