'Spirit Allies', the newest offering from multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Heather Christie. The music is an exploration of about the forces in your life, both seen and unseen, that support you. These are the forces that have your back through your darkest nights and your richest light filled hours. These allies may find expression through your ancestors or through magick made manifest in your life. They may manifest through your devotion and faith or through your reverence for the earth and the plants and animals that constitute it's environment. You may feel the support of these spirit allies through a cause you believe in deeply or through the devas and gods that sit at the gateway between realms.  

It’s likely you don’t understand the exact nature of these forces but instead intuit their presence indirectly. There is always something present which pulls from your depths like a sinewy fabric that wraps around the core of you, guiding you forward to achieve your goals and dreams. Maybe these spirit allies manifest as a whisper in your ear when you know you are moving in the right direction. How do you identify with your spirit allies?

This musical journey is an invitation to open to the influence of these spirit allies so that they may offer support to you for your mission here on earth.

Musically, I wanted to do something I've never done. I wanted to push into realms of eclecticism with sound that were fresh to me. That's how 'Spirit Allies' came to be. I featured sounds of my friends playing instruments from around the world - namely Evan Fraser on African bass ngoni and the middle eastern Ney flute (Bangles), Vir McCoy on the Turkish cümbüs (Passiflora), and my own Spanish vocals, which is a language I've spoken and loved since age 13. Adding the mystical vocals of Matia Kalli in Passiflora was a deep treat, and getting to re-imagine the sounds of the timeless world beat band Hamsa Lila was an honor (Sudan Remix). I also wanted to create a collaborative feel, so having the remixes from Mushina, Akriza, and MOONTIDE were amazing. I hope you enjoy the eclectic soul of 'Spirit Allies'.

Part of the Particles summer release schedule, Rick Pier O'Neil and Desaturate continued a rich vein of production form with their "Crouch/Cursed" EP in July 2016. Now Particles revisits the EP as "Crouch" receives a pair of remixes from the USA and Israel.

Dan Stark and Sertac Sahin are two US based artists joining forces for an aural assault on the deep and tech house genre with impressive results. Coming together from diverse backgrounds, both are accomplished producers and DJs in their own rights with their solo work hitting a plethora of different labels since the turn of the decade. Finding renewed vigour through their collaborative approach, the monthly show, "The Way" on Proton Radio, launched a new offensive to "showcase their signature sound" through a juxtaposition of different approaches and styles that complement each other when brought together. Commencing in March 2016, the show continues to go from strength to strength.

Production work that began with March 2015's remix of Hernan Cerbello for Low Pressings, has continued at rapid pace over the past twelve months. Thus, a growing catalogue of original works for Witty Tunes, Zenbi and Go Deeva has impressed, remixed by such leading lights as Sweden's Inkfish. A remix of Oliver Lieb's "Caldera" in February 2016 represented a fine Particles debut for Stark and Sahin, so it is with pleasure that we now welcome the duo back to the label. Remixing "Crouch", a strong rhythmic framework and shifting percussive cadence provide an anchor for the bass line, so fundamental to the original, to drive hypnotically forwards. A raft of additional production material is then found through twinkling melodic riffs and sonic soundscapes, coupled with Pier O'Neil and Desaturate's memorable effects, to create an impressive rework.

Israeli, superstar, Matan Caspi, has been at the forefront of both the underground and mainstream dance movements for a decade. Both as DJ and producer, Caspi has lit up the dance arena with performances in over twenty countries, through his "Beat Avenue" radio show - syndicated to stations across the globe - and well over a thousand production credits that span a host of impressive imprints including, Spinnin', Pacha and Enormous Tunes. Coupled with support from a galaxy of A-listers that include, Above and Beyond, Eric Prydz and Sander Kleinenberg, it is not difficult to see why his name is so revered. Indeed, appearances on Kleinenberg's "This is" compilation and Sultan's "Nubreed" for Global Underground, has continually seen Caspi at the height of the modern dance scene, enhanced further by the foundation of the "Outta Limits Recordings" label with fellow superstar, Stan Kolev.

April 2016's remix of Li-Polymer's "Silence between Us" marks Matan Caspi's impressive Particles debut and so it is an honour to now welcome him back for a second remix. Reworking "Crouch" in typically impressive fashion, a clever bass line variation and pounding beat sets the foundations for a groove-laden, up tempo remix that is full of Caspi's trademark production values. Creating a dance floor destroyer that is certain to delight, intelligent retention of the original's themes, with the addition of a sublime melodic sequence in the third movement, has generated a rework of power and precision from the Matan Caspi studio.

Reaching the heights with two new remixes from Stark and Sahin and Matan Caspi, "Crouch" continues to see Rick Pier O'Neil and Desaturate standing tall.

Eitan Reiter is proud to announce the release of his latest album, Give It Life, on Guy J’s Armadillo Records.
With a dedicated and ever-growing fan base who have been captivated by his ever evolving sound across the years, Reiter has a varied and vital discography. As Eitan Ratier, he puts out techno on labels like Minus, Traum and Praxxiz, and has released an excellent house and techno album on Mule Musiq with Sebastian Mullaert, as well as solo effort Place I Miss That I Haven't Been To released on Aleph Zero in 2010. As such, he producers everything from minimal to psychedelic chill out to downtempo, also works as part of groups like Loud, and makes music for film and TV.
This standout new album brings techno together with dark avant pop, proper songwriting and inventive studio trickery. It was made partly on the road between gigs around the globe, as well as in four different studios and various other places like a farm in South Africa, a bench in New York, or just a hotel room in Tokyo or Mexico.
It is a coherent album that is not bound by any self imposed rules and has come together naturally and organically. It features a number of collaborations, singers and instrumentalists and and even finds the artist letting himself sing and play guitar. It also comes with some great videos for the tracks and has spawned a brand new live show with Nimrod Gorovich and Barak Rosen.
Kicking off with ‘Choices’, a tender mood is set with carefully treated vocals and slow, sombre drums and chords. From there, the melancholic ‘All That I Know’ has more pained chords laid over bustling, broken kick drums and ‘Fade Away’ is an ethereal downtempo number coated in echo and reverb that makes it a hugely resonant track. The likes of ‘Other Kind of Illusion’ are brilliantly original tracks with gorgeous chords and guitars over pressurised thudding kicks, ‘Avoid’ is a modern day love song without the cheese with sweeping emotions and intimate whispered vocals and big splashes of drums, then things play out through the fractured keys and pixelated synths of electronic masterpiece ‘Let It Out’ and tripped out beats of ‘The Black White Read’ before ending on the lonely and insular chords and heavy hearted drums of ’You Are (The One)’.

This is another essential album from a talented artist who has many different musical tricks up his sleeve and more than enough skills to carry them off. It is artistic, original and thoroughly absorbing from start to finish.

Marc began his musical journey at the young age of 15, with a deep appreciation for deep, energetic, progressive house and melodic techno. He’s had support from dutch pioneer, Dimitri Kneelers, and collaborated with the well-loved and wonderfully talented Luke Santos from Argentina on a track that was charted by Hernan in his top 20 in 2014. With a residency at Recycle Lounge and a release on Paul Hazendonk’s imprint, Manual Music, he also has a new podcast series called Heartbeat for which he did an official launch at ClubNL on July 12th....and I was fortunate to play that amazing night for my first gig in Amsterdam! As one of Japan’s most prolific electronic music producers, Hideo Kobayashi specializes in soulful deep house and floor-smashing techno. Back in March, he launched his own label to push these divergent sounds. Standard Music thus serves as a model for “quality, functional and beautiful” above all else! For its next release, RIWIN takes that sentiment to a whole new level. The Balinese musician and spiritual healer once played in popular Indonesian bands called Pahama and Tropical Transit. When not riffing with the latter, he can now be found mixing electronic music. Rising from his home studio, “Bali Cloud” gushes smooth atmos, soft percussion and balearic guitar.

➤ About the EP :
"Yohana" is a journey into the shadows of the jungle. The sound of these songs are heavily influenced from my first experience with Abuela Aya, where she came to me, in my mind and body, in the form of a serpent. She spoke to me, showed me her power, her essence, I felt her movement and heard her sound, and I connected deeply with her spirit. I saw the shadow world that exists parallel to our reality everywhere, I learned that the energy of the shadows cannot be defined as good or bad but have their own unique power and influence on us.

➤ About the song :
ntiche and Yamanjo are both dear brothers whom I respect both very much as people and artists. We've played shows together and I find both their music, life, and vibes very inspiring. Moontide is an artist whose music I've been following for years and connected with recently, I invited him to make a remix of Yohana because I felt he would create something very special with his unique approach to music.

"Yohana" is the musical embodiment of that experience, drawing fusing together organic and tribal elements and warping them to create a psychedelic jungle atmosphere. This approach to creating was used in the production of each song in this EP.

A dear friend introduced me to DakhaBrakha around 8 years ago and there music instantly had a profound effect on me . To me there music is a beautiful blend of all the elements i love in music: Emotion, Groove and Psychedelia. I originally remixed “A Doshchyk Nakrapaie” for my live set a couple of years ago and since then it has lived in many different forms. It's nice to finally share a version of it with everyone.
