The symbiosis of sounds by producer Moya US and Lebanese musician ID.Jay, brings us one perfect release called "Hiraeth"!
The two of them worked on two songs, which in many ways represent the sound they cultivate, that is, an organic house sound with a beautiful ambience and melodies.
The "Hiraeth" edition, in addition to their original interpretations, is accompanied by two remixes, one of which is by Vandelor, while the other remix is ​​the work of Mexican producer Alberto Hernandez!

Canadian duo Beije made a rapid rise to global recognition with their immaculate productions on labels such as Where The Heart Is, Sound Avenue, Soundteller Records and 3rd Avenue to name a few. They've also been a regular on the various imprints of the Manual Music record company, with several releases on Manual Deep and their massive 'Viscera' / 'Sigil' single on the Manual Music label being amongst their highlights. Now they make their return on MNL after having released their lovely 'Lucid' track on the label exactly two years ago.

With 'Ikigai' and 'Quagga' the guys once again show why they are a name to watch. Two beautifully crafted warm electronic music cuts that find a lovely middle between the deep- melodic- and progressive house genres.

"A respected name within the progressive house fraternity, Forerunners makes a welcome return to Meanwhile with his first full release in the shape of the “Ancient Methods” EP.
 
Operating out of his Arizona home, Brenden LaBonte has consistently found himself at the forefront of a distinctive underground house sound with his Forerunners soubriquet. An advocate of the ‘quality over quantity’ maxim and a sound that is full of maturity and quality, the US artist has seen his music allied to a plethora of high-profile imprints that include Anjunadeep, Silk Music, and Black Hole Recordings.
 
Now returning to GMJ & Matter’s flagship imprint after a spell-binding interpretation of Mike Isai’s “Home” in July 2021, Meanwhile’s 21st release sees Forerunners open his “Ancient Methods” EP with the mesmerising title track. Full of melodic poise and rhythmic interplay, a driving beat and tight off-beat percussion heralds a dynamic opening before a mechanic bassline and syncopated groove create the foundation for delicate motifs to lilt their way across the 8-minute track with ease. Delay-infused effects and pitched synth add to the aural atmosphere at the breakdown as a sustained pad holds sway throughout to create a subtle tension and hypnotic vibe.
 
The complex rhythmic foundation that infuses the oxymoronic “Light in the Darkness” is a powerful forerunner for the deep melodic melange to follow. As running bassline and swirling effects build, a dizzying breakdown of looped arpeggio provides sonic intrigue and bright, uplifting zenith. Exploding into the third movement, an hypnotic melody sits against oppressive bass and rhythm to create a magical track.
 
Continuing the dark rhythmic narrative of its predecessors, “Valis” provides another sonic tapestry filled with texture and innovation. Beneath a ticking percussive groove and chest-thumping kick, an effects-laden and pitched oscillator bassline reveal themselves across the 6-minute offering as a mesmerising arp creates a powerful melodic presence in the mid-range. Science-fiction inspired effects that the Future Sound of London would be proud of, infuse the breakdown as the second half drops into the huge bass-heavy underpinning once more.
 
Redolent in modern and innovative production technique and a cutting-edge sound, Forerunners brings a scintillating new approach to “Ancient Methods”."

Easing us through the depths of March, we welcome Emotional Tourist back into the XYZ fold. Since the soaring reception to his remix of DSF’s Pouf, the Bucharest-bred producer has been firmly in the crosshairs as one to watch in 2021. After making waves last summer with a supreme EP on Kindisch, the Romanian released a stunning edit of Sade to claim our nod as one of the tracks of the year. We think he’s making some of the best deep and melodic sounds around, and we’re thrilled to showcase his immense quality with The Day the World Meets You.

Alfama closes out the project, drawing inspiration from its predecessors. Soft vocals and a delicate string arrangement greet piano stabs, complimenting an ever-present drum rhythm. It’s classic Emotional Tourist, and rounds out an EP that touches upon everything we love about the Romanian. Melodic music from a warm soul - what more could we ask for?

The Soundgarden continues their stellar 2021 run with the welcome return of Staves under the guise of their new project, Madraas.
