These tracks enter your consciousness like shooting stars in the fragrant darkness of a warm night in spring. Felix Raphael's bass lines are as deep as the sea, and the bounce of his rhythms hits the sweet spot. While the dancing body is hypnotized by these elements, the mind follows the organic pattern of his free-floating melodic arrangements. When the vocal sets in, it merges into the tune as if it was an echo from the parallel world of a dream. Many new names in the 3000Grad context make the Skalar EP a very fresh and versatile affair: Paul Hazendonk provides a remix full of harmonic ecstasy, Yannek Maunz a dose of spaced-out trippiness, and Brid & Snyder hurl us straight into the bubbling vortex of their melodic groove.

This year, Ryan Dupree delivers a brand new EP on Grossstadtvögel. The progressive sound suits him just as well as the rich and at the same time wide bass lines. He proves both here in the "Beyond The Dark" EP with absolute clarity regarding his skills. "Kevin de Vries and I have been in touch for years exchanging music and talking about
doing a release from him on my labels.
The time has come with this incredible “Vertigo” release.
Needless to say that I’ve been a fan of Kevin’s sound for years and supporting almost
every single release he’s had.
So I am obviously super happy to finally land his excellent music on NM2.
I feel we’ve put together a release so strong that it sets the bar extremely high for what’s
to come on NM2 in the future.
Kevin’s flair for making amazing melodies and soundscapes mixed with spot on
arrangements and in depth productions is a true pleasure for your ears.
Even when writing these words I slowly drift away and dive into the music with a smile on
my face.
To top it all we also got a superb remix from Marco Faraone who has been among my
favorite techno producers for years as well and one I have been wanting to release music
by for some time. His remix makes “vertigo” a more hard hitting and techno driven
banger.
Cleverly keeping all the melodies intact and wrapped up in heavy beats.
I feel blessed to have both these artists deliver such high quality music for NM2.
This release honestly feels like moving into a new era for the label and excites me so much

Australian progressive house icon Matt Rowan last appeared on Particles in early 2015. Around the same time, East Cafe released his first remix for the Proton flagship label. Over four years later, the two label stalwarts come full circle with “Heads Down.” Throughout its impressive ten-minute framework, the East Cafe remix synthesizes nostalgic and contemporary tones alike. The Hungarian certainly displays "a level of refinement, detail and depth” by drawing inspiration from the original’s timeless melodic lines.

Opener Tunguska, named after the meteoric burst event in the eponymous region centres around quivering strings and piano pads, creating the perfect backdrop for mind-bending vocals and a playful melody that builds up to a light-hearted crescendo.

Stereo MC’s turn the track into a less introspective, stripped down version with memorable drums and an overall minimalistic tribal flavour.

On the flip side, Boy Next Door emphasises the dark wedges of the original, adding a raw bassline and metallic synths, amping up the tension into a determined, relentless slice.

Sic Transit dives even deeper into the introspective waters of mystery and ambivalence. With a slow-paced escalating melody, arched with huge, glorious pads, it gives a hint of the piety associated with the Latin saying. Krink adds a layer of contemplation with brooding atmospheres and smokey elements that showcase the producer’s attention to detail.

Gloria Mundi comes off as a resolute dispersion of the tension built up in the previous two tracks. Serene and intrepid, it rounds off the release on an understated yet heightened atmosphere.

As one of Japan’s most prolific electronic music producers, Hideo Kobayashi specializes in soulful deep house and floor-smashing techno. Back in March, he launched his own label to push these divergent sounds. Standard Music thus serves as a model for “quality, functional and beautiful” above all else! For its next release, RIWIN takes that sentiment to a whole new level. The Balinese musician and spiritual healer once played in popular Indonesian bands called Pahama and Tropical Transit. When not riffing with the latter, he can now be found mixing electronic music. Rising from his home studio, “Bali Cloud” gushes smooth atmos, soft percussion and balearic guitar.

Decades later, he sheds those dark, progressive labels in favor of more refined tastes. Classified as Hip-Hop / R&B, “Professor Firefly” ends Padre's debut album on a very playful note.
