 Originally released three years ago, Sirians became an instant classic, reaching Beatport’s Top 7 Progressive House chart and earning support from amazing artists such as Nora En Pure and HANA. The original composition, inspired by the luminous Sirian civilization, carried melodies that embodied higher states of consciousness — evoking joy, compassion, and the spiritual harmony of beings connected beyond the material plane.

For this special anniversary, RUBIA breathes new life into Sirians with a deep, hypnotic groove and a vibrant, moving bassline that transforms its celestial essence into pure dance floor magic. While preserving Morttagua’s timeless melodies and ethereal emotion, she adds her distinct touch through intricate percussion and lush ambiences that elevate the track into a transcendental experience.

Beatfreak Recordings pairs two of progressive music’s brightest stars in Betoko and Haze-M on ‘Addiktive Cikle’. Hailing from Mexico and Tunisia respectively, Betoko and Haze-M are two of the genres most sought after artists, so it only makes sense that they present their first ever collaborations on D-Formation’s highly touted Beatfreak Recordings.

Beginning with the groovy, astral sounds of the title cut it’s clear that the studio synergy between the two is on point. Fresh and dramatic across it’s concise seven minute running time, it’s a delight to listen to and certainly full of great dance floor dynamics. As mounds of bass undulate, spacey arps add a serene, meditative vibe, before eventually melting down into a break of tripped out electronics. The beauty lies in the drop, unassuming and undeniably groovy with fresh rhythmic qualities, no doubt set for a massive reaction on a clued up dance floor. The companion piece ‘Homesick’ comes with more of a straightforward peak time approach. Charged beats and electric lines set a dramatic mood early as an epic synth lead fades to prominence. Not without emotive moments and furthering the piece’s grandiose appeal, the main break showcases waves of warm overlays and chirpy electronics, resulting in a near two minute stretch of sonic bliss. Expect a massive reaction from this one as well.

Beatfreak always makes incredible remixer choices and here they call upon two of the scenes finest in Nick Muir and Morttagua. First up and fresh off a remix for Watergate Records is UK artist and one half of the famed Bedrock duo Nick Muir who provides a melodic techno rework. The main themes translate well over a tough, bulbous underbelly while fiery percussion and a collage of stunning effects further tantalize the senses. Expertly crafted, the main break takes you further into the cosmos as bassy rumblings and a haze of astral designs meet in the ultimate sonic apex.

The release concludes with Morttagua making his second appearance on the label following his ‘Hourglass’ single, released courtesy of his Timeless Moment imprint. The Brazilian artist has grown into one of his country’s top progressive house producers and he continues that trend with a killer remix of ‘Homesick’. Crunchy and groovy in equal measure it’s a mix that stays true to the main themes from the original while adding a full, warm feel, particularly in the low end. The break shows Morttagua’s keen sense of dance floor dynamics with all the tension and anticipation you could ever want, executed with a subtle build and classy drop which keeps the vibe on the right side of cool. A wicked remix from Morttagua which caps off another stunning release from Beatfreak Recordings, who remain on a perpetual roll. Highly recommended.

Australian progressive house icon Matt Rowan last appeared on Particles in early 2015. Around the same time, East Cafe released his first remix for the Proton flagship label. Over four years later, the two label stalwarts come full circle with “Heads Down.” Throughout its impressive ten-minute framework, the East Cafe remix synthesizes nostalgic and contemporary tones alike. The Hungarian certainly displays "a level of refinement, detail and depth” by drawing inspiration from the original’s timeless melodic lines.

Rising out of Argentina's progressive house underground is Guille Cornejo aka Antrim. Long a favourite of the genre's premiere tastemakers in Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Cordoba resident also lays claim to releases on Sudbeat Music, Hope Recordings and his own Or Two Strangers imprint. With a sound that stretches from the deeper, dreamy spectrums of house, to the tastefully melodic confines of contemporary progressive, Antrim now makes his Replug Records debut with 'Trip To Red' alongside a remix from Orsen. 

In an odyssey that spans ten plus minutes, Antrim commences the journey with warm, punchy beats, electric rhythms and metallic hits. The introduction of a pulsating groove heightens the senses as fuzzy designs and elegant harmonies descend over the framework. Emotive chord changes further the narrative, building anticipation with each successive loop and perfectly setting the stage for a memorable lead. Euphoric yet charming, it's a cascading theme for the ages, almost surreal in nature it's youthful energy gets lost in a wash of colourful harmonics, before one final break resets the groove for a percussive finale.
 
Amidst progressive music's elite guard lies Replug's Orsen. Alongside Cid Inc, the UK born, Austria based producer not only owns and manages the label but is an artist of substantial merit. Regarded as one of the genre's choosiest producer's, Orsen's discography is both astute and enduring, showcasing releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and US conglomerate Proton Music. Ending 2018 with a stunning rendition of Dmitry Molosh's 'Sacra', Orsen now presents his first production of the year with an inspired take on 'Trip To Red'. Always a creative remixer, Orsen deconstructs the main elements into newfound themes for what sits as an ideal complement to the original. Atop a warm, full bodied groove comes effervescent phrasing and buoyant arpeggios. It's a remarkable sonic marriage and one which makes for an energetic yet meditative journey, elegantly peaking through sizzling modulation across two breaks, before an exhilarating final act puts a cap on this creative gem. 
 
With 'Trip To Red' Antrim continues to build on what has been a breakout year for the Argentine, one which continues a course of artistic growth while adding nicely to an already impressive body of work.

A fizzing, crackling backdrop powers a new sonic arsenal from southwestern Germany, Tantum explodes out of Karlsruhe in brilliant “Photism”. Aural shards pierce the frequency spectrum with pinpoint precision as heavy beat anchors. “Follow Me” with continued narrative and sonic synchronicity. Bassline cadence and hi-hat groove are wrapped in warm rhythmic blanket while analogue motif creates a new melodic mosaic.
