An artist with a storied history within the Proton Music canon, Juan Deminicis has been a regular contributor to the label's catalogue for over a decade. Now returning, "Cycles" represents another slice of progressive heaven with a delightful twin-track offering.

Beginning his Proton Music relationship with January 2012's "Downshifting", an array of original material has since flowed from the fingertips of Juan Deminicis. 2013's "Behind the Sun" soon followed before a 5-year hiatus then resumed with November 2018's "Life on the Moon", June 2020's "Synchronicity" and July 2021's "Water / Rebellion".

A regular on an array of blue-chip labels including Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas and Guy J's Lost & Found, the Argentinean star has been flying high in a rarefied atmosphere for almost 15 years.

The "Cycles" title track opens with a sublime trademark rolling groove that wends its way easily atop luscious pads and breathy vocal ‘ahhs'. Crisp hi-hats provide a dynamic vibrancy while a syncopated bassline adds dancefloor energy. Pausing at the breakdown a beautiful piano sequence flows in subtle beauty, combined with atmospheric field recordings. Easing back into the club-friendly groove in the third movement, new melodic sequences enter the fray to create a stunning musical masterpiece.

With its heavy beat and traditional off-beat hi-hat pattern, "Samhadi" soon bristles with emotion as a female vocal sings delicately across proceedings. Perfectly accompanied by twinkling delayed keys, a lilting melody drifts across the early phrases. As the rhythmic elements emerge unencumbered at the mid-point, a beautifully sculpted piano motif creates a moment of melancholy before evolving into the second half. Alongside the vocal phrase and other melodic elements, the track flows to a natural conclusion in a glorious display of production craftsmanship.

Returning to Proton Music, Juan Deminicis' "Cycles" continues to oversee an ever-impressive musical evolution.

Every time Guy J releases his solo material on Lost & Found, the world of music lovers is ready for a treat. He's not only one of the leaders of the global scene but a musical innovator pushing the limits of studio techniques and borders of abstract emotional content. His latest conceptual masterpiece consists of two tracks ranging in length from over 7 to almost 11 minutes and a total run time of over 18 minutes. The opening track, Last Standing, blends the progressive motifs with an out-of-this-world anthemic breakdown. The piece is simultaneously melodic and nostalgic but manages to deliver a new, previously unheard edge to the technical execution of the production. The closing track, Fire, uses temperamental arpeggio resonances, constructing a mystical soundscape for a joyride into a higher state of perception. Guy’s sonic skills work as a hypnotic tool. An artist with over 10 years experience in the world of electronic music, Paul Deep has been a stalwart of the progressive house scene. A regular on the likes of Clubsonica, Sound Avenue and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, supported by Guy J, Nick Warren and Lee Burridge, the Argentinean artist hit the Proton Music headlines in September 2022 with his beautifully developed "Orchid" EP. Now returning to the label with another original offering, "Odyssey" is a typically deep and contemplative affair with a cavernous sub-bass groove sitting below a rippling percussive stream. Wending its way across an 8-minute journey, myriad textures and effects pave the way for a subtle melodic motif to evolve easily, complemented by a beautiful piano and keys sequence at the breakdown redolent in evocative splendour. Returning to the deep rhythmic roots of earlier phases in the second half, "Odyssey" is another majestic Paul Deep musical sculpture.

An artist requiring no introduction to the Proton Music faithful with such memorable releases as "Little Friend", "River Pond" and "Station", Dmitry Molosh is an artist who has continued to ride the crest of a production wave for over 15-years and some 650 credits. Consequently, the Belarusian has seen his music feature on some of underground dance's most esteemed labels including Replug, Sudbeat, Plattenbank and his own Proportion. Now returning to remix on Proton for the first time since 2020, the Dmitry Molosh interpretation is a spellbinding affair that continues the strong rhythmic flair of "Odyssey" before developing a new bassline groove and melodic counterpoint. Further extending the themes laid out in Paul Deep's original, Dmitry's skill is to create a scintillating progressive gem that sparkles at a sunlit breakdown with evocative melodic passion. Dropping back into the generous percussive backdrop in the second half, the Dmitry Molosh remix is a joy to behold.

A second remix sees, Zankee Gulati return to the Proton fold. A regular on Particles, not least through his 2018 "Breathe" EP, the Sydney-based star has found himself at the forefront of the modern progressive house scene with a string of releases on a host of elite labels that include the likes of Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, John Digweed's Bedrock and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile / Meanwhile Horizons. Indeed, it was at the annual Amsterdam Dance Event festival in October 2023 that saw the Australian perform at the duo's sold-out Meanwhile showcase. As comfortable standing behind the decks as he is sitting in the studio, a single remix of Rick Pier O'Neil's "Imperial" in late 2022 is now joined by a second as Zankee Gulati transforms "Odyssey" into a broody rhythmic gem. Developing easily over its duration, echoes of the original float through its 8-minutes with familiar melodic refrains and atmospheric pads. Full of additional production material, complex textures, white-noise effect and muted arpeggio, they combine to create a deliciously rich and full-flavoured sound that resonates fully in the second half.

Creating a magical "Odyssey", Paul Deep is taken on a voyage of discovery with additional remixes from Dmitry Molosh and Zankee Gulati.
