Forerunners return to Sudbeat with his first full EP - Fear is the Mind Killer. 

Bursting onto the scene some 8 years ago, Arizona-based Brenden LaBonte (or Forerunners to his fans) has quickly progressed up the ladder with music signed to an impressive list of high profile labels including Perfecto, Pure Progressive, Anjunadeep and more. His signature slow build style is perfect for us, and we are excited to present these immersive and emotional tracks. 

Opening with a carnival of beats is 'Fear is the Mind Killer'. Melodic layers ebb and fade over the opening bars adding tension. Bass and spiky sonics in the midsection indicate a definite energy rise with the main break becoming an oasis from the chaos that powers from the drop in the final third. 'Distant Signal' with its Bladerunner-esque dystopian keys is a darker, more insistent partner. Elegant pads and choppy arps add interest to this heads-down stomper for just before dawn ushers in reality.

Hailing from Mar del Plata, Argentina but living on the Balearic Islands of Spain nowadays, Not Demure is gaining more and more recognition in the progressive house scene. After appearing on labels such as MNL, Movement Recordings and Idyllik Records to name a few, it's now time for him to make his debut on Magnitude Recordings.

'Presagio' comes in two versions. The original is a bouncy intelligent piece of chunky progressive house whilst the Other Mix has the same strong foundation but adds a bit of emotion with the addition of strings and melodies.

An artist with a long and esteemed career within the underground dance industry, Chris Cargo is one of electronic music’s great innovators. Always at the bleeding edge of the progressive and deep house scene, he returns to his If You Wait imprint with a full-length album of ground-breaking breadth and diversity that showcases true “Resistance”.
A seasoned DJ and producer from Belfast, Cargo has seen his music reach far beyond the boundaries of his Northern Ireland home that have seen him enrapture crowds across all corners of the globe since the 1990s. From Shanghai and Siberia to Malaysia and Mexico for the likes of Smirnoff, & Renaissance, Cargo has thrilled with a series of meticulously crafted and spellbinding sets. A celebrated production career has run contemporaneously with Cargo seeing his music signed to a plethora of blue-chip imprints that include John 00 Fleming’s JOOF, Paul Thomas’ UV and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, as well as the likes of Mango Alley, Stellar Fountain and Flow Vinyl. Supported by DJs across the world, particular attention has been paid by the dance industry’s glitterati that features John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Laurent Garnier, to name but an elite few.
Using his own imprint as a vehicle for his music and a wealth of other high-profile artists, Chris Cargo now debuts his “Resistance” album on If You Wait.

Chris hopes to give his royalties from the album to a charity very close to his heart in Belfast.

"Marina" is a song that takes you to a state of joy, to a state of positivity. It is the proper name of our music studio, located in the city of Barcelona, where we composed many songs, including "Marina". It is a transmuting place, where we let the negative become joy, hope, and illusion through music and creation. We want to give people a moment of illusion and hope. A fun moment. A moment to dream and fulfill our desires.

Born in Rosario in the province of Santa Fe, Lucas Degiorgi has been involved in the underground dance scene for over a decade. With music signed to such esteemed imprints as One Of A Kind, Balkan Connection and Mistique Music, it is a pleasure to welcome the Argentinean to Particles. Maintaining a rich percussive narrative that flows through the quartet of original tracks with its roots in South American rhythms, "Charger" builds with ease via heavy bassline groove, powerful synth motifs and syncopated patterns. Textured pads, reverb-rich vocals and white-noise effects add to the potent aural collage. Accompanied by heavy beat and evocative breakdown, sparkling delayed synths permeate "Meteoro" in moving patterns, while subtle melodic layers add intrigue aplenty. The ambient effects and birdsong of "Iguazú" trip alongside free-flowing jazz phrases and layered vocal phrasing to create a unique affair. A 4/4 kick, off-beat percussion and recurring synth trope provide familiar club-friendly rhythms in a highly original piece. "Midnight" returns to more traditional progressive house fare as dominant beat and off-beat hats and shakers lay the foundation of flowing pads and repeated motifs create an atmosphere that lends itself well to the title. Subtle additions post-breakdown add further to the eerie vibe and overall track evolution.

No stranger to the Particles roster, Blood Groove & Kikis bid a welcome return to the label. Regulars on Silk Music, Spring Tube and Perplexity Music, a 2015 debut remixing Australian star, GMJ, began an impressive Particles portfolio. Further reworkings of Andre Sobota, East Café and Matt Rowan & Robbie Lowe in mid-2020 has continued an impressive collection as the Latvian duo now return to Particles with a stellar reworking of "Charger". Full of trademark silky smooth production skills, a strong beat and sublime rolling groove form the backbone for a chugging, head-shaking remix to drive forward with heavy bass pattern in tow. Richly textured pads add to the sonic collage as echoes of Degiorgi's original ripple across the mid-range. A swathe of original production from the Latvian pair can be heard throughout as the track reaches new and dynamic intensity in the second half.

2020 newcomers to the underground production scene, Peruvian and Mexican duo, Stranger Tourists, have made quite an impression with their distinctive organic and deep house sound. With a lofty ambition to "tell stories and express emotions through music", the pair have hit the ground running after their "Call of the Ancients EP" for Mirrors Label in January. Going on to see their work featured for the likes of RYNTH, Suprematic and The Purr, Stranger Tourists make their Particles debut with an imaginative reworking of "Charger" that captures the organic house vibe of the original with its ambient birdsong while adding an array of new melodic production material that gives their remix a melancholic air. Full of rhythmic charm with driving beat, reverb-soaked vocal phrasing and acoustic guitar add further weight to an opulent remix.

Lucas Degiorgi has provided an impressive debut "Journey" with a quartet of originals and remixes from Blood Groove & Kikis and Stranger Tourists.
