What a day, one of our founders and label head Dandara is finally releasing his first solo EP on his very own LOKD.

During the last years, his sound has evolved into his very own universe. Achieving an unique balance between world atmospheres, and electronic elements, mainly produced with analogue synthesizers and field recordings. Always characterized by its well developed grooves, his sound has been an inspiration for many, and we are very looking forward to see where it heads in the coming times.

On remix duty we present newcomer K2W0, already familiar in our label with an amazing re-interpretation of “Danza”.

We can only be grateful for this amazing release. And hoping for it to be the first of many yet to come.

NYC event brand ZERO launch their new label arm with a superb new EP from German live artist Jacob Groening that comes with remixes from Lovecraft and unders & Noraj Cue. It comes after years of releasing on other vital outlets and establishing himself as a unique voice in the house underground.

Opener Nican feat. Joy Tyson is a deep and spiritual house roller. The lush drums and hits sink you into a cavernous groove and majestic, wispy synths and percussion add the vital detail. Timo slows right down and has finger clicks and a rugged synth riff over the lazy, loveable drums. It's a super nice vibe thats as thoughtful as it is deep.

Timo (Lovecraft Remix) is more upright, but stays just as deep, taking you late into the night on distant synth smears with a rising lead occupying the mind. Jacob Groening - Nican (unders & Noraj Cue Remix) is the most direct of them all, but the airy and angelic vocals keep it heady and spiritual.

This is a tasteful EP of richly rewarding deep house.

New York’s Nhii (No human is illegal) lands his newest sortie on our polyrhythm-loving, genre-unbound offshoot, A Tribe Called Kotori. Tapping in multiple sonic seams and time signatures, “Tu Sombra” is deeper than deep voyage for the senses and soul, threading its way somewhere between drum-laden animism, mystique-infused synth wizardry and further metamorphic glides.

First in line, the dislocated groove and koto-like riffs of “Omashu” take us on slo-burning tribulations from jam-packed opium dens to meditation-friendly zen gardens, bringing ukiyo-e’an landscapes to life in incandescent fashion. “Sapphire Penumbra”, featuring Sant, tackles a more straightforward, dynamic strain of 4x4 expression, ushering us into a sensitive reverie full with soaring oriental strings and myrrh-scented keyboards on a Nubian dance tip. Title-cut “Tu Sombra” rounds it off on a full-fledged bouncy note, plugging together the suavely nostalgic warmth of bass clarinet with digital showers of bleepin’ machine funk and lo-intensity, tape-delayed stabs, all spinning around a jacking house swing that packs a mercurial punch.
