Music platform Sweet Musique has been a gateway into music enthusiasts’ bodhi, chaperoning unexposed and novel talent into the electronic music purview through forward thinking music and well-disposed premieres. Born in 2015, after a long-time coming, the record label, founded by electronic music mavens and propelled by the reception of the electronic music hoi polloi, anoints conscientiously harvested talents into its roster, long-time friends and notable alumni who deserve an express ticket into the overprudent limelight. But come from leftfield, and ushering in 2018 for thee multi-tasking label, is Manfredonia-based duo, Voon. Unconnected, unheard of, geographically non-advantaged and for lack of a better term, unexpected. 

Voon, consisting of former orchestra-drummer Giusseppe Bolino and half of DJ duo Stop File, Vincenzo Vitale, collectively, could be working wonders, or was it the gravity of coincident emotions. The genesis of Voon was contralto, but its emergence, covetously incendiary and less frequently, unblemished. Voon is the concurrence when senses forget who, what, when, where, how and why, it is where the crossroad is crux, when sensation and sensitivity take front seat and navigate beat and rhythm and melody into their imminent orgy.

Setting the EP in motion is Kora, enlivened and buoyant, a perfect apparatus to raise temperature outwardly and introspectively innervate all at once. With organic sound structures at its underchassis, and bolstered by emphatic African vocals, Kora initially thrives on the grace of innocence and curiosity and transgresses into the nuance of complexity, As contrarieties arise through the collision of grassroot and synthetic sounds, Kora’s title track scallops, amassing texture and traction until it sprightly submits into the infinite flukes of the unknown.

Entirely instrumental, Voon’s resolute production, Alma, parades with fierce conviction. Slightly more erudite and plenty more pert, the audacious track, synonymous to the Spanish world ‘soul,’ captures the morale of quintessence set loose, traversing between its comfort zones, consistent drum roll, bass and snare, as well as bold experimentation with anodic pitches and timbre. A rip-roaring eight minutes that harangues directly to, where else but the soul.

Wrapping up the EP is Voon’s transcendental tour de force. Confident from the getgo, Indaco manifests the chrysalis of both the product and producer. Entrancing vocals sampled from a meditative Hindi prayer, are complemented by finespun elemental din and subtle percussion, thrusted by a meticulous maneuver of drums and bold mechanical sound applications - a dynamic, incipient style, progress-driven just as Voon, and analogous to the cutting edge, climate-altering proclivities of Sweet Musique.

British duo Wayward continue to build momentum on the Silver Bear imprint with their new 'Good Afternoon Mr Magpie' EP, which features a dreamy and emotive title track that plays with intricate rhythms and immersive atmospherics. 

About the release, Wayward had the following to say: “'Good Afternoon Mr Magpie' sparked the start of a song-writing period that formed the sound of the EP. It was written in a barn nestled in a remote Valley in the South West of England with little contact to the outside world.  We liked how it mixed organic, live and electronic sounds and textures together. As for the EP title, there was a picture of some birds on the wall, maybe Magpies maybe not… but that’s where that came from."

House Music With Love return with another one of their fresh EPs, this time from the dream team of Kaldera and Lazarusman with remixes from Urmet K, SURAJ and Simina Grigoriu & Moe Danger. 

Kaldera a producer from Northern Europe and Lazarusman a poet from Southern Africa and their rhythmic, spiritual journey always makes for real musical adventures. That is the case here with Oceans of My Mind, a deep, swelling house tune with great chords and a dark bassline. The thought provoking vocals drift up top as the turbulent grooves roll on and bring real class to the floor. 

The Urmet K remix is more blissful and laid back, with breezy chords and gentle beats rolling you into a trance. SURAJ then layers in plenty of cosmic melody, gives centre stage to the poetic spoken world vocal which brings a romantic feel to the tune. Then last of all Simina Grigoriu & Moe Danger close things out with a more direct, techno leading version that has brilliantly frazzled chords and deriving drums taking you deep into an eerie night. 

This is a versatile and vital EP that covers plenty of ground in real style.

Founded by label boss Einmusik end of 2008, the imprint has grown to a large family with members from Beirut, Toronto, Madrid, Amsterdam and many more cities. To celebrate 10 Years of it’s creative journeys and visions, Einmusika asked some friends and highly respected musicians to pick their favourite track from the past 10 Years for a very particular remix. 

So this time we’ll bring ya „J’oublie“ remixed by Olivier Giacomotto - a big dancefloor number. Dave Seaman remixed Tim Engelhardt’s “Vega“ and this one stays in your mind for hours. 3000 Grad founder Mollono.Bass comes with a new version of “Multiple Life“ by Einmusik - one for the hot nights and the festivals around the globe. We asked Julian Wassermann about his fave Einmusika track and he picked “La Danse Du Scorpion“ by Sébastien Léger - the one which made the clubs shaking in 2017 and is now putted to the next level with a darker attitude and clubby sounds. Emotional and uplifting comes Paji’s version of “Starlings“ by N’to, what an unique remix - individual and spheric.

Einmusik - Multiple Life (Mollono.Bass Remix)

Sag & Tre is proud to present the first volume of the "Freshly Picked" compilations featuring a range of hand-selected music to kick off the New Year, 2019.

Featuring scene stalwarts signed to labels/collectives such as All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Rebellion der Traumer, Dream Culture, Where The Heart Is + more, the compilation is set to turn heads, and stay in your record box for a while. The compilation also features a couple of newcomers, who compliment the entire piece offering something new, instead of deducting from the experience.

Elias Dore is the next announced artist for this compilation. Originally from Berlin, Elias explored many facets of music, but what has over time stayed with him is his love for melodic warmth and organic sounds. Elias has been trusted to provide warmup support for Rampue, Nico Stojan, Mira, Nicola Cruz, Holger Hecler and many more. While he regularly plays in Berlin’s well known clubs such as Sisyphos or Katerblau, he recently picked up some producing boots and made this beautifully unique composition called “Ayasa”.

This is one of the many Sag & Tre fruits off the compilation, all to be revealed before December 25th, when the compilation is up for pre-order. 

Artists like Powel, Jean Caillou and Ramiro Rossotti have already been announced to appear on the compilation. “Freshly Picked Vol. 1” will release on all digital stores and streaming services on Friday, January 4, 2019.

As one of Japan’s most prolific electronic music producers, Hideo Kobayashi specializes in soulful deep house and floor-smashing techno. Back in March, he launched his own label to push these divergent sounds. Standard Music thus serves as a model for “quality, functional and beautiful” above all else! For its next release, RIWIN takes that sentiment to a whole new level. The Balinese musician and spiritual healer once played in popular Indonesian bands called Pahama and Tropical Transit. When not riffing with the latter, he can now be found mixing electronic music. Rising from his home studio, “Bali Cloud” gushes smooth atmos, soft percussion and balearic guitar.
