onedotsixtwo heads to São Paulo by way of the very talented Carla Cimino who has created two sensuous tracks in ‘Fractal’ and ‘Illusion’, while Australia’s Mike Rish delivers a stunning remix of the title track.

Carla Cimino has been directly involved with electronic music and the underground scene in her native São Paulo since the early 2000’s, and began producing her own material almost ten years ago. In that time she has released on many quality imprints such as Warung Recordings, Culprit and BC2 Records gained support from DJ’s far and wide, including Hernan Cattaneo, Hoj, Madloch, Chris Fortier and many more. 

The EP opens with Fractal. Pulsating bass envelops the listener from the offset. Shimmering shakers and congas dance between sustained chords, and ethereal voices build tension amongst plucked strings. A track that would sit equally comfortably during the build of a set, or late into the night. Illusion is next with an addictive groove, razor sharp hats and mesmerising chimes, leading to a break full of excitement and anticipation, and onward to a release worth every second of the build. Mike Rish makes his mark on Fractal and what a mark it is. He takes the key elements of the original and adds a big dose of peak energy using powerful builds and sweeps layered amongst thunderous reverberating FX, while accentuating the string elements. Proper heads down progressive.

Returning to the label following a contribution to the Stage-14 collection last year is ISMAIL.M with 'Temple Rituals'. Aptly titled, this cross-cultural gem comes complete with soulful vocal motifs, exotic drum arrangements, and a haunting lead line to charm even the most discerning of listeners.  The collection's halfway point is marked by the label debut of Dennis Addams with his latest studio creation 'Melodic Square'. With over thirty years of DJ experience, the Belgian artist delivers a slice of timeless techno featuring mesmerizing arps, nostalgic chord stabs and a symphonic lead of the mood lifting variety. Selection five finds SLC-6 stalwart Headkube returning to the label following a remix of Runik's 'The Edge of the World' from earlier this year. 'Firefly' marks his eleventh appearance on the label and lands in impressive fashion with its retro-trance appeal. The release concludes with rising talent Checo Cotela who presents his second ever released production entitled 'Becle'. The Argentinean artist puts a final stamp on the collection with a stripped progressive roller that's sure to attract attention with its aquatic design profiles, and tough rolling beats that seem perfectly suited for midset action.

The latest release on Madloch's 3rd Avenue imprint finds the label showcasing the 28th edition of their popular 'Three Of A Kind' series. These VA EP releases feature three producers who contribute two originals, with the end result being a unique amalgamation of sound, something which has now become synonymous with the Sound Avenue affiliate. Invited to showcase their talents for the 28th edition are Juan Lagisquet from Uruguay, Rinaudo from Argentina, AOVA from Mexico with his production partner Rama, also from Argentina.
