It's been another year of ups and downs for us all,
To keep heads held high and our momentum flowing, all we really need is something to look forward to each day, so this is my way of sharing some love with my community of fans and listeners.
Thankyou you all for tuning in and I hope some of you find some new tracks you love. I've started this month on the moody darker edge, but I'll be showcasing quite a range over the month, so look forward to some funky feel-good vibes to make you get up and shake it.

Jamie Stevens needs no introduction. As a mainstay of the progressive scene, he is one of the finest producers to hail from Australia. He teams up with Swiss resident Garance, a producer known for delivering high quality emotional fare. On this debut collaboration for Balance, they provide three undeniable dancefloor ready tracks.

Imbued with exceptional warmth, 'Extatique' is an almost minimal excursion into groove. Melodic synths wash over the drums like a sunrise, punctured by intricate percussive sounds that create movement without being overtly obvious.

The slow pulse in 'Heavy Hearts' adds to the energy, one part deep house, and one part deep progressive. Orchestral swells and exploding stars take this into a cosmic territory that feels psychically emotional yet comfortingly familiar.

On 'Hula' the percussion feels bright and snappy. Discordant strings vibrate and swerve all around the groove, hiding a restless vocal that pierces through the murky maelstrom of sound. Plucked strings twinkle away like gentle fingers massaging the skin.

Effortlessly moving from driving, riff-driven dancefloor stormers to deep, hypnotic melodics, funky progressive and lush, atmospheric ambient with stunning live cello from classical and electronic star Wilma, this 12-track masterpiece is the perfect example of the full stylistic depth of the Aussie innovator and why we believe he is the future of Open Records.

In a time when social media, singles and streaming rule, an album might seem like a relic of physical media or when listeners had longer attention spans.
