Cocoon Recordings welcomes Pele & Shawnecy for his Cocoon 12" debut. Without any doubt the Rosenheim resident is one of the fastest rising names in Germany. The bavarian tech-house-hero has built up an impressive reputation over the last two years. His driving and testosterone loaded productions and remixes can be found in many top notch dj-sets and charts. Pele is a master of kicking tech-house and his style of incorporating chords and vocals create real peaktime highlights. There is no escape when the sound of Pele kicks in on your PA system!

 

SHAWNECY native Persian, who shows musical fully controversial direction. Michael Jackson's hip, he sings and dances for various chart and show acts, and also working as a choreographer and dancer. Both together started to produce music end of 2010 when Shawnecy moved from FFM to Rosenheim.

 

Their first 12" for Cocoon Recordings is no exception here. With "Can't Wait" they deliver the next peaktime highlight just in time for this years summer season start. Merging house and techno this one should make fans of Harvey McKay, Santos and Guy Gerber happy which makes it a perfect release for us. The Flipside "Can't Leave" slows down a bit and looks more at the deeper side. While "Can't Wait" is a proper peaktime monster "Can't Leave" should work out great on the next afterhour and keeps the party going and going. The right sound to welcome the sun after a hot night... change your sneakers for flipflops and check your mirrorshades and let's start dancing to the beat and bassline of "Can't Wait".

 

The digital bonus track "You And Me" seems to be a dub version of "Can't Leave" at first glance. However the more you hear it to more it starts to progress into an unique and very hypnotic track. One of these tunes that don't let you leave the floor and you wish it would go on and on forever. "You And Me" would be a perfect track to make it into a locked groove at the end of your vinyl... well, if it wouldn't be digi only ;)

We are glad to introduce you to Melokolektiv's new project entitled "L'Amorosso". Our founder teams up with Ben Agd and presents "Gouia", a first single that will be released later in 2022. Following their summer residency for Watsa festival in Marseille where they have notably welcomed Laolu, Nandu, Marcus Worgull and Jimi Jules, the french duo release "Gouia" a deep afro track in the line of Melokolektiv's previous release on AZZUR "Bakari".

No doubt "Gouia" will stand high in the Afro House charts this year.

For the last two years, we have been watching Notre Dame growing with his excellent music deeply inspired by the afro house scene. We have been waiting patiently to propose him something to remix that would fit perfectly.

On the 18th of March, we will welcome him on board with a wonderful remix of L'Amorosso - Gouia. No doubt that this track will highlight some of your sunset sessions. Magic

Tripmastaz AKA Andrew Guyvoronsky debuts for Cadenza Lab with the ‘Blossomz’ single; a trio of heady club cuts that typifies his hypnotising house sound and knack for the perfect groove. 

Originating from Moscow’s music scene, and slowly emerging as one of the more renowned Russian producers to influence global labels, Andrew has released music for Richie Hawtin’s Minus imprint, DJ Sneak’s own Magnetic Records, as well as other appearances on Cécille Records, Desolat and Shanti, all proving fantastic platforms for his minimal sound and guided musical expressions. 

Aside from his productions, Tripmastaz who runs his own label, 74 Records, has also held a residency at the impressive rooftop party Techno Gipsy since 2013, a further accreditation to his career as a Producer and DJ. With an illustrious remix career to match, collaborations with DJ Sneak have pushed him toward close affiliations with the House Gangster Movement and the funky side of house music so clearly important to his work. 

Lead track, ‘Blossomz’, opts for a captivating percussive groove, whilst vocal samples are put through the wormhole to create rhythmic effects; fans of Mountain People/Sasha Dive will lap up this vibe for sure.  ‘Sublimely Relieved (Cuban Linx)’ raises the energy level somewhat; a snaking bassline slithers around the crisp drum pattern seductively, as light keys sprinkle over the dubby house sound.  A ‘Bass Dub’ is also offered up, offering an alternate take to round off the release with added weight.

Hamburg electronic music duo with Syrian roots Shkoon delivers Underyourskin Records‘ next EP ‘Letters‘ - a musical clash of diverse folk and traditional influences fusing together with a downtempo house vibe. The dreamy ‘Ala Moj Al Bahr‘ plays with the symbiosis between oriental vocals and a desert like desolating sound construct that finds its peak in a melodic discrete synth oriented part that lets you feel the occident. JAVID‘s remix puts more emphasize on the folk elements of the original limiting the vocals to a minimum yet being so on point that the yearning for more is inevitable.

Seirenes is a kind of excursion into the Homeric epics and at the same time a very close and intimate feeling of longing into which you can fall. In the course of this work @lyhre had dealt with Greek mythology as well as the symbolic power of the siren, which gave rise to these synthesizer sounds, somewhere between the feeling of an entire orchestra being submerged in water and the clear, almost steel sound bordering on pain. In the midst of it the seemingly incessant repetition of the vocal, a verse, somehow isolated. In these few words she already tells a large part of this whole. Seirenes is a narrative, but not a heroic song. Perhaps it’s a lingering echo, an echo of all the stories so often revived, told by the siren itself.
