Happy new year! We have the feeling, this I going to be a good one. And, as if to prove us right, New York-based producer Nhii is starting it off with a bang. ‚Kykeon of Cobble Hill‘, his new three-track EP, is electric, trippy and mysterious. The title track, as well as the B-side ‚Branches of the same Tree‘ don’t skimp on eclectic charm while still fulfilling their prime objective: these are grooves made for the dance floor, deep-yet-bouncy and so, so wonderfully made.

Our beloved duo @Madota is back on Saisons with their first original EP. A project that embodies a pivotal chapter for them after a long time apart on different sides of the world. After experiencing humanity on pause from different coordinates, Behnam and Mehran finally reunited in Berlin, picked up the energy where they left off and dove straight into the studio with a new approach to their creative process.

In the light of everything happening in their motherland of Iran, they feel more called than ever to celebrate their heritage. In this 2-track EP, you can feel Madota’s roots. It’s a voyage into their past that taps into the energies and the stories of where they come from…and it only feels like the beginning.

'Roobah' is playful with colorful roots. The duo created this track from blending piano pieces of Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou - an Ethiopian nun who they grew up to love, mixed with Ahmad Shamloo’s audio recreation of "The Little Prince". The audio tapes and CDs of Shamloo’s work became illegal after the Islamic Revolution.

The result of this sonic painting is a celebration of both stories in a deep and jazzy groove with warm soulful harmonies. Dusty and playful. An ode to life and freedom.

'Del' is the darker and deeper track of the pair. The groove is rooted in a dense and weighed down rhythm coupled with shreds of dusty pianos. Behnam’s voice guides the story, singing 'Del' which means ‘Heart’ in farsi. The lyrics come from an old persian poem that goes something like:

O heart, if you love
Seek comfort
In the heart of day and night

The track embodies Madota’s overflow of emotions that come up in reviving their relationship with their roots while also honoring the courage of their people in their fight for freedom.

A part of the proceeds from this release will go to support families in Iran.

For their fourth release on their own label Around Midnight, French duo Chambord takes us to their own kind of party through a carefully curated compilation. 6 tracks, one per hour from midnight to 6am, meant to be the first volume of a full nocturnal exploration.
From Midnight to Six is also the occasion for Chambord to let us have a look into the enchanting treasure chest they recently collected thanks to their many travels and encounters. Each track is a well-kept gem, containing the story of a joyful meeting, both musical and human, that lead to an out-of-the-box project, always enchanting, sometimes surprising.

“Encore” by Chambord and Creange sets the pace for an energetic and enlightening night with its roaring baseline assorted with sharp synthesizers and sexy French vocals.

“Got To Learn” embodies a beautiful travel through space and time : in his remix Joep Mencke dropped an introspection touch to the Mâhfoud version by deepening the baseline, therefore transforming the original Korgis’slow hit from the 1980s into a track that is fully club-ready for 2023.

With “Sorbet”, Swiss DJ and producer Dandara drives us onto a peaceful and sun-kissed journey in contrast with his previous body of work; but do not be mistaken, the track’s powerful baseline and trumpets paired with an intriguing out-of-space vibe and joyful bells will certainly make you dance further into the night.

It’s already 3am, and time to put some speed back into the mix thanks to the multi-faceted talent of Turkish DJ and producer Toprak Baris. He shows with “Fuego” a new and deeper side of his art topped by enchanting Spanish vocals that gently take us by the hand into a world of enlightened darkness.

“What You Wanted” by French DJs and producers Meloko and Selim Sivade assert them as the new rising stars of the electronic scene thanks to their own signature flavor of exotic beats. The track elegantly leads to the point where you can either go home happy or pursue your night refueled with an ascending energy.

And finally, Deenara’s “The Noble Act” answers to the 6am call back to the dancefloor with its deep beats and profound vocals that invite to search further into ourselves while keeping on moving.
After such a first dive into own their kind of night, both entertaining and introspective, surprising yet empowering, we are looking forward to discovering what Around Midnight has in store for the next hours of their nocturnal journey!

Bar 25 Music is thrilled to announce the return of She Knows with their latest release, "Extraordinary." This EP is a masterful combination of melancholic, playful, and magnetic tracks that are sure to leave a lasting impression.

The EP includes two new tracks, "Extraordinary" and "Twisted and Strange," as well as the previously released single, "Something to Save," which debuted in April 2022 on Bar 25: Zeitgeist. These tracks were produced in She Knows' latest studio in Wilhelmsruh, Berlin, before Marcel's departure to Vitoria at the end of 2021. The tracks were mixed by the incredibly talented Zeno Mainardi, whose contribution was invaluable to the final sound.

This EP showcases She Knows' versatility, with a range of comic and dramatic elements infused throughout the tracks. The result is a collection of songs that are both touching and emotional, with rich textures and powerful melodies.

For Teresa and Marcel, this EP represents the culmination of their musical partnership, as it is the last project they worked on together in their shared studio in Berlin. The EP also features a thrilling collaboration with Ukrainian artist The Organism, who delivers a mesmerizing remix of "Something to Save."

Robbie Akbal is a Mexican organic house artist who recently launched his new record label, Midnight Riders. The label's new release features enchanting original music from Robbie Akbal alongside remixes by Alex Twin and Jim Rider. 

Midnight Riders is sister label to Robbie Akbal's long-established Akbal Music with the aim of creating an outlet for the more melodic side of his sound. 

One of North America's most respected underground artists, Robbie Akbal is known for his laidback grooves with soothing melodies and earthy percussion. He has travelled the world to DJ everywhere from Berlin to Tokyo, and is also a skilled producer that along with releasing music via his own record labels, has also featured on other prestigious imprints such as Sol Selectas and Crosstown Rebels. 

On remix duty, Alex Twin is an organic house artist from Dubai who is a driving force within the country's club scene where he DJs regularly. He is also a talented producer who has built up a back catalogue including music on labels such as Bar 25, Cosmic Awakenings and Pipe & Pochet. 

Also providing a remix, Jim Rider is a UK artist with close ties to Lee Burridge and his record labels All Day I Dream, TRYBESof and Tale & Tone. He has also released his majestic style via the likes of Kindisch and Akbal Music. 

"Phangan" is the solo original track on this release and it's a mesmerising piece of music that orientates around upbeat percussion and trippy synth pads, which lay the foundation for a stunning sitar performance by Sidartha Siliceo. The track's breakdown is cut by dramatic bursts of percussion as it builds suspense to when the kick drum reappears and the sitar lifts it to new levels of psychedelia. 

Alex Twin's remix of Phangan loops sections of the sitar and adds additional percussion to create a chunky groove that doesn't lose any of the original's trippy vibes while stepping the energy up a gear. 

Jim Rider's remix adds a melodic bassline and epic synths that give his version an expansive sound, which creates an uplifting vibe shrouded in an immersive atmosphere that's perfect for the dance floor.
