Perhaps best known for the triumphant single "Wonersh", which appeared on a variety of leading trance & progressive radio shows last year, American talent Eskai kicks off his interpretation of "She Is" with a peak-hour groove. In the initial build, a slowly crescendoing chord progression is punctuated by echoes of Elly's soaring vocal. Given the suspense, the emergence of Elly's full verse in the main breakdown is especially nourishing to the soul, and the ultimate drop is a cathartic and timeless treat for melodic trance & progressive fans.

We're excited to welcome back Ukrainian veteran meHiLove, who contributes both a vocal and dub remix. This month marks the return of Steyoyoke veteran Dahu to the label; ever-evolving, subby and percussive, Dahu's 5th EP 'Hesia' sees him pulling out all his signature stops, from ultra low frequency kicks to melancholic synths drenched in warmth. The EP features two original tracks, 'Hesia' and 'From Whence We Came'.

'Hesia' is an exercise in minimalism, developing subtlely until culminating in a ferocious drop layered with resonating mids, a few well chosen percussive elements and a gut pounding kick meant to be felt as well as heard. A heart wrenching lead and bassy resonators combine to hover over the track, dousing it with emotion.

'From Whence We Came' features a complex percussive groove plowing relentlessly forward. The sub-laden kick drum barely lets the listener come up for air, while the lead plays an enticing repetitive mantra, transporting the track into an unexpectedly melancholic dimension, and forging an instant afterhours classic.

As a long term Steyoyoke artist, Dahu has forged his own sound within the sphere of Ethereal Techno. Building on his reputation for sub-heavy melancholia, the 'Hesia' EP showcases old and new aspects of the German producer's unique sound alike.

Sol Selectas is excited to welcome Kora to the label with his debut 2 track release the "Caddo EP". The title Caddo is inspired by the confederacy of several Southeastern Native American tribes, and the music brings us to a late night ceremony. All the members of the tribe are united and chant together, and through the native drums we feel the strength of their gathering.

Wahiba - co-produced by Nic Falardeau, is the story of a lone nomad wandering the desert, confronting his fears, and overcoming them with his inner spirit. The faith in his heart guides him along his path. Powel is well known for his soothing deep productions, and appears here on Sol Selectas for his second remix. He brings the Wahiba pilgrimage to even further regions of the sand dunes, blissfully carrying us into the morning sunrise with his unique and patient approach to rhythm.

The artwork by Helia Jamali fuses these two spiritual journeys together into one, visualizing the native's eternal quest under a dim moonlit sky, warmed by the fires of tribal unity.

“It’s funny how the night can be such an exciting time” said JES when asked about the lyrics of the song. “It’s like a primal instinct that we all have which seems to recognize that the world changes once the sun goes down. The mystery of the night fascinates us and it’s like you don’t know what you might get. It could be dangerous, exciting, scary or surprising. It’s still one of the great unknowns for all of us. So I wanted to write something that put that idea of light and dark into the context of a relationship because it all comes down to not giving up and having the faith to believe that you will pull through in the end”.
