With undoubted talent and a history of stunning releases, Rudy once again returns to Proton Music, this time with his "Substrate" EP.

First coming to the attention of Proton after his 2017 "Qualia" EP for Oleeva Records, Rudy found his way on to the flagship imprint with a remix of David Calo's "Chronomatic" at the end of that year. February 2018 then saw him confirm his presence on the underground dance scene via the three-track "Time / Spirt". Another triptych followed in March 2019 with the incomparable "All Things Fade", the EP remixed by a series of heavyweights including Jamie Stevens, Bluum, Orsen and Mark Slee.

Now, Rudy delivers a third musical trilogy that showcases the UK producer's talent for sonic storytelling. The title track is a glorious combination of intelligently programmed broken beats that create a stirring, unsettling opening before beautiful melodies and reversed textures sit alongside trademark piano motifs that grow organically from the musical "Substrate". The reversed beats add further to the overall texture as a deep and resonant bassline growls its way over the post breakdown denouement in electrifying style.

Continuing the narrative, "Descent" is a glorious collage of percussive intricacy and mesmerising effects, blossoming into a breakbeat monster at the three-minute mark. A huge, sustained bassline then makes its mark in emotive fashion as pads and chords wax and wane through the sonic melange in deliciously filtered patterns. A dynamic vitality is held through the pounding rhythmic backdrop in a track that highlights the renaissance of the progressive breaks sound, championed over the past 18 months by Sasha.

"Different Line" provides a subtle change of pace as sublime melodies ripple across proceedings, drifting in and out of sync with their free oscillator patterns. A simple breaks pattern holds court with snare to the fore and heavy kick anchor, while another powerful and subterranean bassline add weight and spine-tingling dynamism. Evolving past the breakdown, the combination of melodic beauty and bassline power creates a unique synergy.

Growing and developing with each successive release, Rudy has found the perfect musical "Substrate" from which to see his talent blossom.

Timeless Moment is proud to have the French star Rafael Cerato back into the label, this time in collaboration with Antony Toga and the beautiful vocals of Thomas Gandey, in the title single ‘Freedom’.   

“Freedom” is an astonishing production from the trio above, with a very strong pumping bass line and a pure dance floor hypnotic groove. The track specially shines with its amazing trance like ambience and the dark vocals of Thomas Gandey on top of it, making it a true masterpiece. 

Label boss Morttagua brings the first remix work for “Freedom” with a total progressive techno powerhouse for that peak time main stage climax. A rolling bass line is accompanied by dark harmonies and a brand new melodic riff that peaks right at the drop. Genius like sound design and precise usage of the original mix ambiences makes this remix a pure dance hit. 

Finishing off this amazing EP we welcome our favorite resident producers Uncloak back to the label to remix ‘Freedom”.  After one year hiatus from releasing music, Uncloak makes a huge comeback, producing a pure melodic techno peace of art. Uncloak brought “Freedom” into a magical dive through deep emotional harmonies and atmospheric ambiences, exploring every human sense with a true timeless journey.

Returning to Récits de Mars, Kapibara deliver Gaboon, and includes a Jay Fase Remix. microcastle's second offering of 2021 welcomes Radeckt to the label for his debut EP. Based in Copenhagen, the Danish producer and DJ has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His colourfully catchy synth leads, exotic percussive arrangements and tough, dancefloor minded grooves have made for a sound that is all his own. Adopting the moniker just over a half decade ago, Radeckt has enjoyed a five year creative swell, earning the praise of electronic music tastemakers such as Ame, Adana Twins, Echonomist, Innellea and more; while AEON, MoBlack and TAU have served as landing spots for his transcendent sound. Having gotten the year underway with his latest TAU vehicle ‘Corroded Mind’, Radeckt now makes his microcastle debut with ‘Illusions of a Romantic’. 

 Spread across four tracks it is the title selection which sets the tone for the release. Radeckt expounds his lavish future vision here, with obsessive rhythms and hyperspace melodies blanketing titanium beats and monolithic grooves. A recent favourite of Echonomist, it’s raw dynamism and intergalactic design provide a much-needed dance floor curveball for the more adventurous selectors out there. Beneath the powerful tidal waves of ’Illusions of a Romantic’ lies the droney, dystopian realities of ‘Shattered Tension’. A dizzying dance floor slam powered by a ten-tonne kick drum and exhilaratingly unpredictable synth leads. Packed to the hilt with drama, its adventurous spirit is something Radeckt relishes in, as he flexes a darker side of his studio repertoire, and in turn nails that rare compositional balance of being constructed with minimal parts but sounding absolutely gigantic.

 Continuing on a shadowy monochrome are the wintry qualities of ‘Unintended Reflection’. A brooding exchange of melody and texture where themes of isolation, introspection and hope get translated by arcane rhythms, percussive splashes, and machine gun style grooves. Foreboding and vaguely industrial, it’s a composition that further cements Radeckt’s elusive vision, as desolate beginnings morph into a meditative, consciousness-expanding conversion of musical ideas. It’s thrilling pulse proves to be the perfect prelude for the collection’s closer, the whimsical sound art that is ‘Rebellious Konkubine’. A boundary-pushing jaunt that breaks preconceptions and made-up minds, making Radeckt’s music such an addictive pill to swallow. Designed for the more astute dance floors and headphone aficionados alike, its rebellious nature concludes a characteristically expansive set of sound stories from one of Denmark’s rising musical mavericks. 

 Radeckt creates a fascinating sonic ecosystem over the course of ‘Illusions of a Romantic’, a striking four track odyssey that never settles into any tangibly recognizable genre templates, and looks into the mind of an artist who masterfully balances rich production with fire-starting spontaneity.

Frédéric Faupin is an artist who thinks deeply about the music he makes, always looking to imbue it with a sense of his personality. He has put out well-received concept albums - ‘Surface’ in 2019 and ‘Between Time & Earth’ in 2013 - and has collaborated with Ben Watt, Doc Brown, and Fabrizio Mammarella. The Frenchman makes heady, dreamy techno as inspired by Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream and shows that in style here.  The heart-aching 'Les Louves' opens with more brilliantly delicate piano notes before a supple groove eventually rolls in from underneath. Synths are wispy as they drift by like clouds, and a melancholy feeling of longing permeates the whole track.

Release Info: 
This is Copenhagen-based duo Baime’s second EP on their own but the two Danes have already established themselves as solid players on the international scene. It is safe to say that these three tracks have been produced with a feeling of home in mind. There’s a hopeful notion to the tracks, but with a hint of melancholy. Hope and lust for freedom, for dancing, and for community - and an almost painful aching at the same time.

“Basilike” and “Semele” are both powerful and personal in their expression, probably because the duo recorded the tracks using mostly analog gear and homemade percussion and drums. “Jabal”, on the other hand, is inspired by the Middle East with an incorporated sound bit that leaves the listener feeling like “Jabal” could be a long lost cousin of Baime’s earlier hit track “The Damned”.

It’s taken the duo one and a half years to finish this EP, and it’s well worth the wait. These guys deliver quality over quantity and only release a track when it’s been thoroughly tested, refined, and then vetted by other industry experts. Baime’s latest release is not your regular run-of-the-mill electronic production. Instead, listeners should expect quality sounds, stellar percussion bits, and lots and lots of passion. It’s just what we need to gear up for a brighter future.

The sixth instalment of their iTunes Dance Chart-topping series sees Anjunadeep showcase the label’s sound across two discs of ambient electronica, melodic deep house, upfront garage and spacey techno. For the first time, both CD’s are mixed not by one artist apiece, but by both James Grant and Jody Wisternoff as a duo, allowing for a true journey through the Anjunadeep sound.

Le Monkey arrives to the LAMP Family and PUZL Records from deep space filled with sonic vibrations from his travels through countless galaxies. He has chronicled his long journey in the form of ‘Substance Matinale’ an epic 9 track collection of pulsating electronic music. 

Each track weaves its way into the next guiding the listener on an interstellar expedition through the boundless realm of space. With every passing beat and progressive synthesis of sound Le Monkey brings us closer to the most distant solar systems, planets and stars.

Substance Matinale will be the first album in a series of releases from Le Monkey that PUZL Records will help to reveal. This is only the introduction to the project as it begins to evolve into the early stages of a live performance that will translate this auditory narrative on a much larger scale.

LAMP aka The Los Angeles Music Project is a music collective at its core and comprised of a blog, record label, artist management group and event production service. Over the past 4 years it has served to illuminate trending underground house music through daily reviews and long standing weekly mix series. The collective releases music from burgeoning artists in the scene both here in LA and across the globe. They hand pick and nurture aspiring artists in the hopes of accelerating and enhancing their trajectory towards becoming professional producers and DJs. LAMP produces bespoke events in and around the Los Angeles area to encapsulate all of the aforementioned facets of the brand and to bring fans tangible experiences and lasting memories. This year the project hit a maturation point and that saw its founders setting their sights on wider distribution aimed at elevating the music they are stirred by: The formation of a newly launched record label, PUZL Records.

Electronic producer Max Cooper and ambient master Tim Hecker rework Ben Lukas Boysen on his new EP Golden Times 1 – out on Erased Tapes, June 30th 2017.

Championed by many including BBC Radio DJ Mary Anne Hobbs as the standout track from his most recent album Spells, Boysen’s Golden Times 1 forms the very heart of his new EP with the same name. Boysen entrusted none other than Max Cooper and Tim Hecker to meticulously shape and lure the title track plus second single Nocturne 4 into two entirely separate territories, yet never drifting too far away from their original soundscapes. With Evensong the composer himself contributes a previously unreleased piece. It is yet another example that Boysen is still opening new and unexplored doors in a bid to challenge the existing realm of contemporary music he is very much a part of.

“Spells was somewhat of a conceptual release for me, so the choice of the remixing artists and where the original material could be taken was very important. Max and Tim, both being role models for me ever since I began listening to their work and who delivered this incredible abstraction, I felt were spot on for this release and were dream candidates to work with. Their ability to re-direct and even re-invent the original material, partially subtle, and with an almost brutish sense of imagination, honors the originals deeply.”

“Ben has been one of my most listened to artists of the past year or so. His last two albums in particular, have meant a lot to me, and provided me with focus when I needed it. So I was excited to have a chance to remix his work. I felt like I couldn't improve on his idea, but what I could do was take what was the core for me, and expand it. It was just a matter of running with the feeling I got from his original, sticking with his melodic forms and original instrumentation, and letting the growing intensity continue along it's established path to the only possible end point of total annihilation in chaos and distortion. My version is almost a continuation of his original if it was allowed to blossom into percussive format, rather than a traditional remix.”

The golden EP cover art was created by Torsten Posselt at FELD as an extension from the initial album artwork he also created for Spells.

No stranger to the dancefloor and festival scene, Elif brings her vision into sounds and words to present "Moonspell", her first offering to A Tribe Called Kotori.

With huge early success as an international music blogger, fresh talent Istanbul-born Elif covered all the main festivals as a writer until, after teaching herself music production and mixing, she swapped ligging for gigging four years ago as a DJ. As a producer, her first release on Anjunadeep (2019) made her an instant favourite, and during lockdown she’s reached her listeners’ hearts with livestreams both melodic and profound and written new material – soon to drop on Stil vor Talent and of course this debut EP on A Tribe Called Kotori.

Stepping it out with a solid groove is "Bamboo Forest", an anthemic tribal sojourn, a collaboration with Sanoi. Power up with its raw percussive beats and swing those hips to the resonant flow of this chunky track.

Part 2 of our anniversary compilation sees the somewhat elusive, always euphoric Deorbiting kick off proceedings with ‘Spaziergang Im All’, a gleaming serenade of scales meandering through a field of glinty melodic techno.

Newcomer to the Stil vor Talent fold is Berlin techno composer Tim Engelhardt, who hits all the high notes and adds a dash of exotic tropicalia with ‘A Million Sunsets’.

Mysterious Swedish duo Elfenberg have graced the decks at many of our festivals and parties, and we just can’t stop loving the steady groove of the movement filled, driving soundscapes of ‘Danny’.

Elif offers us a taste of her self-taught, nomadic style of music as medicine with ‘Entaglement’, a slow-burning story told with beats and sound.

pølaroit kick it out of the park with ‘Bound to Each Other’, a melodic uptempo affair featuring the sublime vocals of HRRSN.

A deep bow to label founder Oliver Koletzki, who has carried forth the vision of Stil vor Talent to create an ever-growing coterie of music aficionados, offering them the support and the platform to share their styles and talents with the world.
