The Upbeats: “‘Again I' is one of our favourite songs off the Primitive Technique LP.  It's us teaming up with MC Armanni Reign and dropping the tempo for the only tune on the album that varies from the 170bpm realm. It's a glimpse of some of the other material we have been working with him that see us slowing things down and exploring some more beatsy/hip hop inspired music.

Originally this tune wasn't even really intended to be on the LP, but we played it to the Noisia guys and they were really feelin' it and said that we should try and make it part of the album - now we can't imagine not having it on there!

We have remixes of ‘Again I’ from 3 artists we really love; TC who's always been pushing boundaries in Drum 'n Bass and is doing some amazing new music currently, Mono/Poly who has always impressed us with the sickest beats and all round crazy kooky-ness, and Posij who has been doing some wicked stuff and going from strength to strength since we heard his first EP on Noisia’s Division Recordings.”

We continue to heat up the winter with more bloody good club music, this time from Estonian killer Bert on Beats. Cooler than an icy wind blowing across the Baltic Sea, Bert delivers three big dance floor cuts in a classic T&B heavy bass style. Raised on turntablism and drum & bass, Bert got turned on to the “global bass” sound in the 2000s and soon his tracks began appearing in sets from Sinden, Toddla T, Brodinski, and Feadz. You may have heard his massive tracks on Man Recordings and Enchufada—he takes heavy influences from kuduro and baile and whips those together with a European big-room electro flair.

“Modern Vampires” has been a staple in our sets for months—a dreamy DJ-friendly intro that soon goes for the jugular, dropping into mega low-end and heavy kicks—real neck-snapping business. The EP rolls on with “Flute Thing,” an innocent sounding name for a track that’s a crazy mix of uplifting and hard: Pan chasing Mozart around a speaker stack. Tropical percussion and handclaps pair with razor-sharp synth work to form the ass-shaking backdrop of “Get Your Freak On”.
