"Letting Go" is a raw, introspective journey through 2024 - a year of unexpected changes, tears, and ultimately, transformation. From the stark reality of February's corporate farewell to the gradual unfurling of a new creative path, this track weaves together gentle piano, atmospheric production, and honest lyrics that chronicle the challenging path from breaking down to breaking through.

Like the last leaf clinging to a winter branch, sometimes we hold onto what we think defines us, only to discover that letting go opens the door to something new. This song is for anyone who's had to release their old definition of success to find a more authentic path.

Written in the closing days of 2024, it's both a goodbye to what was and a gentle welcome to what's next.

This song began in 2011 and has changed its melody and lyrics somewhat since then. I'm usually more of a singer-songwriter. This one is more pop.
What hasn't changed over the years is the longing for people to live without war.
It's not that everyone loves me, or that I love everyone. Nevertheless, I'm not constantly threatened or beaten by people in my personal life just because I think and live differently.
And I personally have no desire to harass or even kill people just because I don't share their interests or outlook on life. So, on the level down here, almost everyone gets along without murder and manslaughter.
That should be possible on the higher level too, right?
Or not, since other interests prevail there?
When I stay awake and see where death and destruction are currently raging everywhere,
I don't really believe the message of my own lyrics.
It's just an illusion, fantastic nonsense.
But I allow myself to dream. The alternative would be despair.
And I have no desire for that any more than I have for war.

Dieses Lied nahm seine Anfänge 2011 und hat Melodie und Text seitdem etwas verändert. Sonst bin ich ja mehr so Liedermacher-mäßig unterwegs. Hier ist es doch eher Pop.
Was sich in den vielen Jahren nicht verändert hat, ist die Sehnsucht, dass Menschen ohne Krieg leben.
Es ist nicht so, dass mich alle Menschen lieben oder dass ich alle Menschen liebe.
Dennoch werde ich im persönlichen Bereich nicht ständig von Menschen bedroht oder geschlagen, nur weil ich anders denke und lebe. Und ich selbst habe auch keine Lust Menschen zu bedrängen oder gar zu töten, nur weil ich nicht ihre Interessen oder Lebensansichten teile.
Also auf der Ebene hier unten klappt es doch fast mit allen Menschen ohne Mord und Totschlag.
So sollte es doch auch der höheren Ebene möglich sein.
Oder nicht, da dort andere Interessen herrschen?
Wenn ich wach bleibe und sehe, wo gegenwärtig überall Tod und Zerstörung wüten, glaube ich selbst nicht so recht an die Botschaft des eigenen Textes.
Ist doch nur Illusion, fantastische Spinnerei.
Aber ich gestatte es mir zu träumen. Die Alternative wäre Verzweiflung.
Und darauf habe ich genauso wenig Lust wie auf Krieg.


Immer wieder danke Frank, für Deine Geduld, sich mit einem Laien die Aufnahmesessions um die Ohren zu hauen und dann noch was ganz Ordentliches daraus zu machen.
