Nahschemet has been DJing since about 2003. While initially playing and mixing Italo Dance, Hardstyle, Hardcore Techno, Drum’n’Bass and Tekno for a few years respectively, he fell in love with psychedelic Goa Trance in 2007, being mesmerized among others by the Distance to Goa and Destination Goa albums and tracks like Shakta’s Lepton Head (Deedrah RX). Simultaneously developing a passion for Psychedelic rock, Stoner rock, World music, Deep House and Oriental sounds like Turkish village music and saz-compositions, his sets at times also feature influences of that genres. In recent years – parallel to the ever-increasing enthusiasm with Goa Trance particularly from the 1990s – Forest, Darkpsy, Hi-tech and Suomi tracks also became included in his repertoire to an increasing extent. As one of the founding members of the BASST!-society (based in Vienna, Austria), Nahschemet is contributing to the organization of that society’s annual general assembly, the BASST-festival in Leutschach, Southern Styria (next edition: 21.-23.8.2026 – see basst.org - link below). Apart from his engagement with DJing, he is also active as an artist, being inspired among other things by nature and the infinite landscapes of music (on that point, see metagallerie.at - link below).
