Nope, he's not dead. But after playing a couple of his choons in my last mix, I remembered (again) how much I like his style. The uplifting stuff found more in the second hour has the specific ability to make me imagine I am soaring through the sky, whilst on fire - in a pleasant way! Not a passenger jet disaster way

Some of these tracks are very multi-layered. Escape and Winter Beach for example, are really melodic, quite uplifting but very melancholic

Epoch has a very baroque breakdown, love that

I did not use the recording, I reprogrammed the notes the best that I could by ear.  I could not, however, come near to doing it justice. :P

Two helpings of powerful and chunky progressive trance here from Canadian producer Gradwell. The 125bpm World To Come is first off the blocks; dark and moody chords set the tone, tube saturated real-world synth elements weave around the minor key; this is proper, heads-down four-to-the-floor business. On the flip we have the 128bpm Club Mix of Awakening that featured on Kristina Sky’s Disc 1 of Pure Trance Vol. 7 recently. Rich ride symbols and timbales are worked into a 303 bass groove, acidic synth lines interlace and we get a grand melodic unveiling at the break. All together, serious progressive trance for connoisseurs.
