We took a brief yet intense break from screens to process how tell you something about this last edition of Komorebi Music Festival. 

The answer is and will always be the same: music. 

Let Leena's set begin to weave the story of our journey.

We're extremely excited to kick off our kineti-cast 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 series with a very special recording from Brighton based @caldera-caldera

Malte headlined our inaugral kinetic party back in September, where he took us on a psychedelic journey which is quickly becoming his trademark.

I didn't plan the tracklist but had the idea of starting quite uplifting and energetic, then raising the tempo and going a bit more trippy and fast.

Thank you! I mostly go with rhythmic or melodic elements that fit together and see what feels right in the moment. I feel like theres so much good music that can be mixed together that I don't want to limit myself. At the other hand I'm not sure if I'm being a bit all over the place sometimes - I suppose it's always a bit of a fight finding your sound and this year I have really noticed that with djing.

+ 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐉?
I started playing the flute when I was 6 or so, then was in some death metal & hardcore punk bands in my teens playing bass and guitar but really started getting into producing around 2009 with a sampler and then around 2011-2012 properly into producing with the computer. Started buying & playing records in 2010.

+ 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬?
I really love having some kind of soundworld in my music. I just like to create it and sort of sit in that kind of place. I find that very peaceful, even if it maybe sounds quite dark from the outside. I also try to add so many sounds that it's hard to tell where they start and end. Some kind of organised chaos - definitely an inspiration that comes from listening to Flying Lotus' Los Angeles Album.

The other big thing for me is sub bass. I somehow find very deep kicks extremely satisfying so that's an important factor for me, too.

Prog Royalty, who goes by the name of Lisene or Marlon Morris, joins us for this months show. @lisenemusic has put together a retrospective of one of his favourite artists called Aural Imbalance, which is full of atmospheric sounds & letting each track breathe through simple yet effective mixing. @lisenemusic stated it’s a little less fast paced than a club mix but the quality of the tracks speaks for themselves.

@lisenemusic has recently graced Australian shores in the tail end of 2023 & most notably featured at @strawberryfields_festival alongside his lifelong friend @adam__pits as their b2b alias Space Cadets. @lisenemusic is no stranger to the scene & has shared talents at many renowned events such as @boilerroomtv , @dimensionsfestival , @warning._____ & @hypersoft__ .

@lisenemusic is also apart of his own 3-way label called @on.rotation.music with @adam__pits & @chris_ianson . As a label they have had many releases and events and continue to sit high up within the progressive house community.
