Discovered very early in their careers by DJ Presha, the two Sam’s were signed to Samurai Red Seal as core artists in a long term development deal. It has taken a few years to get to the point where we have this release ready, but as you will hear the wait has been worth it. ‘Introducing Tokyo Prose’ brings stylish swagger and musical substance to a scene overflowing with identical bare boned rollers. Gliding between minimal ambience and deep soulful steppers, these gifted young men aptly display their knack for sample selection and unique groove building. Introducing their first release on Dispatch, we welcome the trio Kolectiv, Dexta & Mauoq to our Dispatch LTD imprint for “The Roots EP”; presenting a selection of no-nonsense, sub-pulsated tracks in a deftly constructed package.

Comprised of four dark & brooding escapades into the abyss, built largely upon a stripped-back framework, superior levels of space allow for imagination to wonder in the lower frequencies. With each track confidently shying away from the common ‘rules’ of arrangement, we’re constantly kept guessing with each passing corner and without prompts, whether it’s a shuffle into half-time tempo at interludes, or stomping and lashing back in suddenly from an often sparse or cinematic breakdowns.

A finely tuned EP from a group of promising producers, expect to hear more from these guys on Dispatch again soon. This release is also lovingly dedicated by the crew and ourselves at the label to Emre Serter, father of one of Kolectiv’s members that sadly passed away recently. Emre, this one’s for you.

Moresounds' first release for the Cosmic Bridge label - which also doubles up as his first vinyl release - is a cocktail of old and new flavours processed, re-arranged and output through analogue gear to produce an auditory delight in the finest champion sound tradition. The obvious primary influences are from Jamaican legends such as King Tubby, Scientist and Jammy whose mastery of the dark arts of dub have had a long-lasting effect on the French producer. Additional influences come from a more personal angle, as early memories and experiences of free parties in his homeland play a strong part in helping Moresounds ground his music in a spirit of fun that is always inclusive.



The four tracks on the EP were run through a mixing desk and stack of outboard, analogue effects to give a serious bounce to the riddims and life to the melodies. The result is quite simply irresistible. Managing to sidestep any potential attempt at calling his dub work pastiche, Moresounds delivers the real deal across four cuts. Weeda is pure digidub, as infectious and potentially addictive as the subject matter of its refrain. Analog Steak is what happens when hip hop gets bitten by the same zombies Scientist was trying to rid the world of and turns mutant in the process. The only known cure is a hefty dose of analogue synthesizers, Dr. Moresounds is at the controls and the dancefloor is the operating table. Shtrakstep is what Moresounds refers to as du ' Lourd Raggadelic*' lourd means heavy in French, and well that riddim kind of weighs a ton. No Coke closes the EP on a raggastep vibe. Yes we realise that's two slightly ridiculous genre names in one paragraph but when the music includes such a delirious mix of ragga and bass what can you do. Breath Control bridges the analogue and digital worlds effortlessly. Inspired by electronic music, jungle, dub and hip hop it's a musical melting pot rendered all the more potent by its honesty and simplicity. As some of our favourite video games from the 80s were fond of reminding us, "Winners Don't Take Drugs" - but that doesn't mean we can't all go on a trip together.

*Raggadelism is defined as a mix of ragga and psychedelic. It's a humble journey into mystical dub, a mix of ancestral and modern bass flavours partly inspired by a vinyl shop called 'Bidule' which Moresounds' parents ran in the 70s.

Since signing with Proximity, Will Rajan aka Memro has been hard at work in the studio to produce yet another slice of deep liquid Drum & bass, the end result is Spyglass. Symmetry Recordings is proud to announce this debut release from new signing Boston.  At just 20 years old Boston’s talent for music is evident in this tasteful and exciting single. Hailing from Cardiff, Boston has teamed up with the equally delicious skills of female singer / songwriter Solis for their haunting but uplifting A side track “Go With Me” - A rolling but musical jungle groove, peppered with his own soulful guitar and keyboard licks, performed with Solis’s rich and subtle but moreishly catchy vocal delivery. This track gets stuck in your head, but in a really welcome fashion, like a dream from the night before.

The flip side “The Little Things” - once again highlights Boston’s musical skills bringing a combination of bluesy guitars, filmic pads and well placed vocal licks with a club friendly combo of shaker breaks and rolling reece bass to your ears. Receiving fantastic club reactions and strong Dj support this is definitely an example of how to nail a debut.

2009 saw the release of the first ‘Way Of The Samurai’ compilation which established the Samurai Music name early on with memorable tracks from the likes of Klute, The Upbeats, State Of Mind, Trei, Dose, Menace and more. 

For the 5 year anniversary of Samurai Music, we decided it was time to celebrate the occasion with another unique formation of producers we respect from all sectors of the Drum and Bass spectrum in a sequel to our first successful compilation. From the seasoned expertise of names like Marcus Intalex, Klute, ASC, Loxy &amp; Resound through to fresh talent Clarity, Pessimist, &amp; Overlook and introducing new names Mercy, Subtension, &amp; Paragon, there is something to please anyone who likes Drum and Bass in ‘Code Of Honour’.  

'Code Of Honour' is what we believe to be a comprehensive snapshot of what is great about Drum and Bass in 2012. As always with our beloved genre 'Code Of Honour' has moments that point firmly to the future and moments that celebrate and summarize all that has been great in the genre's history. 2012 has been the best year in Samurai Musics 5 year history and we feel this is the perfect cap to a year where we achieved many of our initial goals and built a firm foundation for further development in the years to come.
