Hitting full speed Proximity has the power to unveil a true unholy alliance, together raising the bar of the scene through pushing their own sounds to their limit. The track in question is Dwell Point, showcasing how versatile the team of Tephra & Arkoze and Mystic State are as they mould a ground-breaking style of Drum & Bass.
Moving on to the tune itself, beautiful pads and a haze of feedback create a cloak of ambience over the opening sections, which really do mask its true direction. This destination becomes much clearer, followed by vivid, punchy kicks. Where Dwell Point really makes its mark is through both duo’s manipulation of low end, of which we get a sneak peak in its build up; the drop itself being unbelievably original and nuanced. This is a true forward-thinking track, highlighting the progressive steps everyone at Proximity is taking in 2016.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new White Label Series with who other than Lakim! We've been planning this series for some time now and are glad it is finally becoming a reality. Since Soulection is always finding new artists and sounds we wanted to really focus and simplify the music into a new platform. Every Soulection White Label project will consist of only 2-4 tracks and really highlight the true craftsmanship of each artist. Lakim is a perfect introduction for this launch. After a bit of a hiatus due to travels spreading the sound of tomorrow globally, we are back with the 10th installation of our White Label Series with a feel good project from our boy J-Louis.

This installment of our White Label Series comes from 21 year old LA-based producer and drummer, J Louis. You may remember Mr. Louis as the resourceful young man who experimented with beatmaking on his iPhone in the past. This time, he's been working with Ableton and other music creation programs to develop his signature sound further.

This White Label series sees J-Louis moving a into some more uptempo and housey vibes while still keeping his signature bass heavy sound intact.

SWL010 has J-Louis remixing rising vocalist @rachelfoxx in the "Before You" jam, sampling Raphael Saadiq & Teedra Moses Ft. Corey Tinay's "I Want You Back" in "Can't You See" and collaborating with dope producer, @orijanus on "Hot N Ready".

Winter is coming as Icicle returns to the fore with his sophomore album, ‘Entropy’, released November 17th through Shogun Audio. Delivering his most developed and ferocious music to date, Icicle unleashes a tirade of bass weight, ready to blow the eyes and ears of the electronic music world into next year. Leaning from grime infested urban electronica through to emotionally charged trip hop and full on trademark sci-fi drum & bass, the resulting ‘Entropy’ is one of the most prime and compelling examples of hybrid dance music yet seen in 2014.

“My first album 'Under The Ice', was an attempt to showcase my influences and where I came from musically, it was in a sense retrospective. This new album is more of a look into what I think the future of this sound could be. The term ‘Entropy’ means a ‘state of disorder’ or 'measure of chaos' which I felt was a great metaphor for how my production style has evolved, diversified and developed over the years.

While the cinematic interludes lay out a path of ever increasing entropy, I've drawn in vocals from some of my favourite MC’s, Skittles, SP:MC and Foreign Beggars’ Metropolis alongside the very talented Sarah Hezen to join the dots between the energetic and the more musical moments. ‘Entropy' is a statement as to my personal progress in musicality and technique, and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I’ve enjoyed making it.” Icicle

Dimension - Dark Lights

Mtwn, two brothers from a small town in east Belgium, made a mark with several high quality releases between 2012-2014 on labels such as Break-Fast Audio, Dispatch Limited, Proximity Recordings, Samurai Music and of course Diffrent Music.

After a short bit of quiet time, the guys are back with their strongest work to date, a 6 track EP featuring recently completed tunes that span from 2012-2015, with three new solo tracks, two collaborations with Arkaik one which also features work from Dexta & Mauoq and a VIP edit of 'Tech9' which was the flip to their 2013 single on Diffrent Music.

The EP is being released as a limited edition, hand painted and numbered CD package, followed by the digital download bundle via BandCamp and all other decent download stores.

In their debut outing with Proximity, Co:Lateral creates a storm with an EP that breaks down boundaries between styles of drum and bass. A unification of, steppy madness, MC led tracks, effortless clean bass, and classic hard hitting D&B, all under one roof. The Southampton based duo, comprised of Knauf & Joe Raygun, already have one release under their belt with Flexout Audio and are set to make it 2 in 2 with South Coast Killers EP. 
South Coast Killers begins dark and sombre and if anything lulls us into a false sense of security. It is rapidly followed by chaotic hype building, utilising the vocal hook that will recur throughout the track, and then silence. The drop certainly hits hard and by the time we reach the title track, we have been led very much astray from where we set out on our journey; this ones the stepper.
Front Street. Co:Lateral soon strip away any sense of peace by dropping us into hard territory, hip hop samples and a collage of bass notes lead the way and create a sense of being somewhere you’re not supposed to be.  
Darker still, and further of course; Military is a real banger. Distorted, MC heavy, and driven by an uncompromising low end, this track has all the components of a true dance-floor filler. The track shines most through its variety, consistently providing new avenues with which to explore. 
Ending the EP is the gentle Blue Grass, a true journey track, ever reminiscent of the stylings of Bukem. The mastery of the clean bass sound in Blue Grass is sublime, and the addition of brass instruments helps create an aura of wonder. The carefully placed stabs do run us slightly off of our journeys course, hinting at our final destination come the end of the EP. Mellow synthesisers are the guide for the next song on the EP, 
 South Coast Killers EP is an EP that spans so much of the Drum & Bass spectrum and could therefore be a fundamental piece of kit, with a track on it to suit any mood and any party.

Illflip makes his debut on Soul Deep by dropping his new EP entitled, "Jazz Language".  The EP features 2 tracks that erupt on the dancefloor and whip lucky listeners into a frenzy.  "Jazz Language", starts the EP off with it's jazzy piano loop, funky horn blasts, hip hop vocal samples, slamming drum loops.  The good times continue with the second track, "Good Time".  The track takes things a little deeper with it's lush piano chord samples, echoing vocals samples, and punchy drums. ‘Critical Treatment’ starts off in with some very theatrical and horror movie-esque atmospheres leading up to a rolling drum beat, the tone is set for what will become the main body of the track. A straight up no nonsense tech roller; Picota & Kumbh demonstrate their innate abilities for some seriously tear out mid work in this beast of a track.

‘I’m The Only One’ has a very distinctly dark, jungle influenced sound reminiscent of Metalheadz releases. It kicks things off with some expertly fused eerie atmospherics and metallic sounding FX dancing around the introduction of the main themes in the background. Dropping into a hard hitting, driven drumbeat with some mind warping mids growling away in the forefront, this is a dance floor destroyer of a track.
