@Sonnymoonmusic are Brooklyn duo Anna Wise and Dane Orr, the dream team who have quietly been releasing albums and sharing stages with the likes of The Roots and Flying Lotus. You might recognise Anna from Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-nominated Good Kid, m.A.A.d city and should definitely listen out for her on his new album To Pimp A Butterfly – she features on several tracks including Institutionalized alongside Bilal and Snoop Dogg and These Walls with Thundercat. Taken from their forthcoming third album, The Courage of Present Times (due for release via @GLOW365 on 24th March) we are pleased to present the premiere of Sonnymoon’s next single. Grains Of Friends is full of @Dirty-Projectors style vocals that dance over a series of clicks, claps, muffled basslines and field recordings that take us back to summertime playtimes. It's time to move to the groove.

Czardas is a lively Hungarian folk-inspired piece, most famously arranged for violin by composer Vittorio Monti in 1904. Based on the traditional csárdás dance, it captures the spirited contrasts of Hungarian gypsy music: starting with a slow, mournful lassú section and building into a fast, fiery friss. Its passionate melodies, sudden tempo changes, and virtuosic runs make it both a showcase for instrumental skill and an energetic expression of Central European folk tradition.

I was reeeaaallly into the album "Sao Paolo" by Brasilian keys player Cesar Mariano when I got asked to do this rmx. So i decided to do it as if it was Cesar's band doing a rmx of it. I was sort of way to challenge myself to see if I capture that vibe. Also, Cinematic and Cesar Mariano both have made some of the most beautiful songs that groove in the 7/8 time signature. I had a blast making this one. Shout out the Eska on vocals. She is amazing!! We had some good times hanging out together in NY and London. And it was an honor to remix a Cinematic Orchestra track!!!
