PRSPCT PDCST 006 by THRASHER(PRSPCT XL18 Special)

‘Velocity’ is the third album from MachineCode, following hot on the heels of 2013’s seminal ‘Under The Sun’ and continuing where its predecessor left off, taking up a position outside currently definable sub- genres. 12 tracks deep this time (including remixes from Mindscape and The Sect), the duo’s classic D&B sensibilities are well-evidenced, with rugged breaks, deep basslines and elegant pads the order of the day. Yet every element has received the unique and immediately identifiable MachineCode treatment, resulting in an album that pushes boundaries, but does so with a maturity and depth all too frequently lacking in today’s bass music scene. Moving seamlessly from brooding, percussive-led tribal pieces - through intricately-crafted, edit-heavy workouts and stepping, ‘80s-influenced neuro - to straight up dancefloor killers, ‘Velocity’ covers many angles. MachineCode prove they are more than adept at each - every track is infused with soul and their unmistakeable robotic funk, culminating in an album interesting and varied enough to sustain repeated home listening, whilst also satisfying even the most demanding of dancefloors.

Damian Sietsma is @Flakesdnb een 21-jarige dj uit Amsterdam, die tegenwoordig in Purmerend woont. De jonge dj staat bekend om zijn double drops en snelle manier van mixen en met zijn sets serveert hij altijd die dikke neuro tunes. De afgelopen tijd is hij behoorlijk aan de weg aan het timmeren en het kan dan ook bijna niet anders dat je hem onlangs ergens bent tegengekomen. Optredens gaan hem lekker af en brengen hem ook steeds verder, niet zo heel lang geleden stond Flakes namelijk nog op het Bassdrop podium van Let it Roll! Naast dj is hij resident van Intense en een vaste kracht achter RustOut Records en Skamele Recordings waarbij hij achter de schermen zieke drum and bass & dubstep raves helpt organiseren.

Starting this new season, a great release from the master duo known as Counterstrike. They are known all over the world for their amazing productions and creativity. They are one of the most respected acts of Hard and Dark Dnb. And for this release they bring us two bombs.

The first is STALKER, a fresh track, with great ambience and dark vibes but with a different “flow”, play it loud and enjoy!

The second is a Counterstrike remix of an iconic track by the Bulgarian producer Cooh, ‘Teroma’, a classic YSR banger. This Remix had a lot of shapes and finally found its final former with this perfect percussion and bass, a track built to destroy dancefloors.
