Ulterior Motives are proud to present a fresh set of versions derived from DJ Persuasion’s Moon Blues (Get Ill).

Dev/Null and Tim Reaper bring a dark, grime-inspired drum & bass workout to the track, featuring razor-sharp breaks and a late-night urban atmosphere.
Liftin’ Spirits (aka Ant Miles of Origin Unknown), donning his Ironic pseudonym for the first time in many years, provides a rolling VIP that stays close to the original but elevates it.
Friske, one of the most enigmatic artists in drum & bass today, who has remained firmly under the radar despite collaborations with artists like Goldie, offers a reflective, refined rendition reminiscent of Subject 13 and Arctix.
In addition to the three remixes, Persuasion adds a new track, Marked, which rounds off the EP with fierce drums and the “Demon Poetry” sample that inspired the NTS Radio show of the same name.

(I dunno, every time Kyiv is under russian attack, its no better way to cope with shit but to play proper skunk out ragga tunage. Fucked up a few blends unfortunately, but whatever, I had a fun hour. With his new album, Ruby My Dear captures the essence of summer and transforms it into sound. Inspired by the landscapes of southern France, the tracks radiate warmth, joy, and the kaleidoscopic memories of days spent under the sun. This is not a postcard version of summer, but a living, breathing ode to its shifting moods: from moments of dreamlike serenity to bursts of ecstasy.

Within the unruly framework of breakcore, Ruby My Dear sculpts something unmistakably his own. The music glows with a psychedelic vibrancy, shimmering between playful brightness and hypnotic depth. The listener is invited into a synaesthetic journey where rhythms break and crash like waves against the shores, and where melodies bloom in the most unpredictable colours. Each track feels like a day of its own: some calm, some wild, but all infused with an undertone of sunsets and the fleeting magic of summer.

Conceived as both musical and visual narrative, this release unfolds as a complete art project. The gatefold cover reveals its hidden story, assembling sound and vision into one. Here, music becomes multisensory: heard, seen, and felt.. A swirl of fleeting moments, captured and held.
