I am new here so hello :-)

Unfortunately like many people I guess my first contact with your good selves is with a problem which I'm hoping you may be able to assist with.

I downloaded wondershare converter and I have since been having a lot of problems with my laptop which runs MS Windows 8 64 bit edition. I mainly use Chrome so became rather suspicious when my default search engine had changed from google to yahoo and it was mentioning spigot in the address bar. I also noted that my avast anti-virus Chrome plugin had been disabled. I used ccleaner to remove spigot and adwcleaner to remove any other references thereof. Rather stupidly only used windows own add remove for wondershare and I still seem to have the support bit installed (which I'd like to get rid of). My reason for placing my enquiry here is as it doesn't seem easy to remove I doubt it's 100% above board.

I have run a search and received hits for wondershare in the following locations:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Wondershare
C:\Program Files (x86)
C:\Program Data
C:\Users\James\Documents
C:\Users\James\AppData\Roaming

After some difficulty I have managed to run a malware bytes check which is still running at the moment.

Unfortunately as it is 1am here and I have work in the morning I will need to update you later on the progress of the malware bytes scan.

I found it, and it is safe to do. Simply press the start button, type "run" and hit enter. When the Run dialog appears, type "regedit." Once you're in the big registry window with all those folders, simply collapse them all, select the Computer, and then under "Edit," select FIND. Type WONDERSHARE. Once you've located it (it should be in some kind of random location like "HKEY_Classes_Root, TypeLib," etc..) just right-click and select DELETE. Then go back to your computer, conduct a search, and whatever traces of it you find still lingering (including the setup.exe), DELETE THEM. Be sure not to delete the "run" folder, or anything else that doesn't explicitly say "wondershare" accidentally. Your computer will go back to normal in an instant!


Broni - I did just as you advised, and it worked for me also; thanks much. But then I also tried Citizen Shane's suggestion, and when I right-click and delete, I get a dialog warning that deleting certain registry values could cause system instability. Confirming the delete results in another dialog "Unable to delete all specified values". Thus I still have WSHelper.exe knocking around in my registry. I get the same result for files (no idea) called Wondershare Helper Compact (no extension), Image Host.exe (in two locations), Video Editor (no extension), a Wondershare folder with three files, one of which is a "uninstall jump page" (cbs.wondershare....etc; I'm not putting the entire url here). These are all identified as type REG_SZ files - I do not know what that means. Seems that I can't get the W-share stuff entirely off. The problem I've had - W-share causing slow startup - seems to have been resolved with Broni's course of action. How concerned should I be?

I've been messing with Pure Piano and beginning to be a fan. For me it requires a diminishing of low frequencies. I have dissatisfactions with the bass in all the top iOS pianos. Not enough discrete-ness in bass chords.

I rendered the MIDI with Cubasis 3, internal reverb is disabled for all and instead I use the Roomworks reverb on "Bright Hall". The first one is as comparison the internal Cubasis 3 piano, just as reference what "bad" might sound like.


Yes, weird. The MIDI file is the same. Maybe Pure Piano has longer release samples, which is more forgiving with this kind of fast run.
After several weeks owning the 3 apps, I still think Ravenscroft is the more enjoyable to play and the closest to a real piano (waiting for PianoTeq...).
Whether you like the tone or not compared to a "conventional" Steinway D is another concern.

Other BioWare devs popped in to dive deeper into specific areas of the toolset for 15 minutes or so at a time, and builders were able to take a break from their module to gather around if that topic interested them, or they were free to continue working on their module.


And just like that the end of the project time came on the 3rd day. The teams scrambled to export their content from the toolset into a game friendly single package file for players, this was moved on to a PC with the game on it and we headed to a small theatre room where each builder team would demo each of their modules running in the game.

Most of the programs in Edu-Ware Services' initial product line, released in 1979 under the slogan "Unique software for the unique mind",[1] were not typical of the intellectually challenging computer games and structured, pedagogically sound educational software for which the company would later become known. Quickly designed and programmed in Applesoft BASIC primarily by co-founder Sherwin Steffin,[2] most of these text-based programs were dropped from Edu-Ware's catalog when the company began developing products featuring high-resolution graphics in 1981.



E.S.P.
 is a game giving players the opportunity to find out whether they possess extrasensory perception. While displaying a constantly changing graphic design on the screen, the program briefly flashes emotionally charged words, randomly chosen from a word list, on the screen. The program then asks a series of questions to determine if the player's attitudes have been influenced by the subliminal messages. A file-builder is included to allow players to insert new words in the data base.



Perception
 is a puzzle game consisting of three games designed to challenge and improve players' visual skills. The first involves using game paddles to draw lines matching those drawn by the computer. The second, based on a World War II test for spy candidates, tests players' power of observation by showing them only small glimpses of an abstract object as a narrow mask travels over it and then asking them to choose from among several objects what they had just seen. The third modules tests player's visual memory by requiring them to distinguish sizes of identical shapes. Players have control over the shape, display time, and presentation format.






Rescue
 is a low-resolution graphics action game in which the player uses game paddles move his spaceship to intercept with a damaged ship randomly floating around the screen. The program was offered in both disk and cassette stand-alone versions, as well as in a compendium, along with

, called Rescue/War, but was dropped from Edu-Ware's catalog by 1980.



Story Teller
