Germany’s Rocko Garoni announces his next EP on Second State, featuring a remix from Black Lotus. 

Second State regular Rocko Garoni will drop his next EP on the label, “Blank EP”. The hard-hitting 4 tracker contains 3 original tracks with a fiery rolling rework from Berlin’s Black Lotus. 

Opening proceedings is ‘Blank’, complete with a booming kick and bright sharp synths that permeate through the flurry of percussive sounds. Hi hats and cymbals roll and rattle between each other as a heavy bassline draws out a more rounded feel for this cut. An ethereal male vocal narrates the track with an echoing tone that gradually drifts away, dwindling just out of earshot. ‘Blank’ is a determined opener with no let up that showcases that classic Second State sound.

‘Affinity’ follows, characterised by uniform claps, a bouncing kick drum, and a syncopated rhythm. Sonics crackle while rounded synths and percussion build the tempo, with percussion gradually increasing and dominating the soundscape. A breakdown is presented midway which is a stark contrast to the tempo that has already been set, jolting listeners into the present. A barrage of frenzied alarms soon takes over, while the ferocious kick punches its way back to the forefront of the track.
Berlin native Black Lotus is up next with her rework of the opener, ‘Blank’. She smoothes and rounds out the original kick, alchemizing it to a steady pulse that smoothly rolls underneath shakers, claps, and sharp metallic elements. A devilish sample, full of heavy distortion, skips and ricochets around the melody in furious hypnotic chaos. A full-bodied bassline heaps on the energy and reinforces the rolling kick drum, adding weight and murkiness.

Closing out the record is ‘Destructive’, which begins with a hurried kick that delves deeper than the previous tracks on the record. A choppy stabbing synth line duets a commanding male vocal sample that explains, “I am the one!”. A Lengthy, yearning baseline drones in the distance, bringing with it a subtle feeling of unrest. With a slight ravey mood, this energetic effort finishes on a high, commanding movement and exhilaration.

Pseudo Pulse is a Music Producer/Remixer/DJ who hails from the Northeastern United States. He has been Writing and Performing Music in some diverse forms for over 25 years. His main focus since the age of 11 was in the Metal realm when he picked up his first Guitar. He started playing in bands at the age of 14 and has been moving forward ever since. In 1998 he moved to Chicago and was introduced to many versions of Electronic Music. He traveled the United States going to various Festivals and “Raves”. He fell in love with the music and in late 2008 he started to think of the idea of Producing and Performing Electronic Music. His band life continued till 2010 when he decided to stop playing in the Metal Realm and move over to the Darker more Trippy side of Electronic music, a form of music he has loved for well over 2 decades.
Since 2010 Pseudo Pulse has had multiple releases. His Productions are known for the High Energy they create in a Twisted and Dark fashion, on the other side he can also produce more Chilled Environments and these 2 factors are also true for his DJ Sets. He has been released on Multiple Labels such as, Tight Groove Recordings, Clash & Splash, Oxytech Records and Opensource Record to name a few. Tight Groove Recordings is his local Collective Label of Friends.
