Hey guys! If you thought funk ended with the 70s you're wrong. The Horndogz are still holding it down here in 2013 with that raw funk sound! I've been following them for a while after hearing one of their tracks on Wefunk Radio and I ended up asking them for the parts to this song so I could do a remix. Nights over Egypt - The Jones Girls - SanFranDisko's Late Night Groove #FreeDownload

A little back story on this one, for those of you that may be interested. I'd wanted to do an edit of this wonderful track for ages but couldn't figure out how to approach it when along came Mark E with "Scared", an edit which solved the issue of how to deal with the two separate parts of the track beautifully - extend the intro, tease it out and simply drop into the main part of the original, leaving it as is. Brilliant! The only snag for me was that "Scared" wasn't in the style that I was looking for personally. So, I proceeded to copy Mark E's blueprint using a different groove. I filtered the intro and beat, jammed along on keys over the top, working it to the max, before dropping back into the original at the drop. I've had a lot of fun playing this one out over the years, it works equally well in house clubs and soul all-nighters alike. I've left the edit as is,  the way I first recorded it, nice and loose (nothing to do with locating 9+ year old files  on hard drives ;)). I hope you all enjoy it and play it out often and loud!
