Summer Camp this past weekend was, as always, universal! The music and energy is so special and you feel it every single time you enter the venue. Every artist that played brought their best. Community: NYE 2025

In over 20 years of label work, I have seen many artists come and go.
Many of these artists were really very ambitious.
But they didn't stand up to the pressure in our music industry.

Producing music is a very time-consuming and expensive
business. 
You have to constantly adapt to the high production standards.
And that's not a cheap business and an enormous investment of time, 
at the expense of your life, your friends and your family.

The biggest problem is probably that in our market, which is dominated by booking agencies 
and monopolised by a few artists, new talents hardly have
a chance to present their music at a party.
Even we, Drukverdeler & DJ Bim, are hardly recognised as a live act. 
even though I have been writing music history as a DJ and manager for over 30 years.

Our example is perhaps one of the best to show how entrenched our market has become.
When you sit in the studio for years, producing music that works on the dancefloor, 
but you are simply ignored or overlooked by the organisers
it's more than difficult not to lose the passion and courage to keep going.

It's not just about the few hundred euros that a new live act gets today,
to reinvest in his studio. 
Rather, it's about living his dream and playing his music in front of an audience himself.

At some point you just ask yourself why you're still doing it, you hear other DJs playing your music,
you see people on the dancefloor partying to it, but you as a producer are simply ignored.
At some point, you reach the point where you give up, switch off the power in the studio and spend your free time 
with your family, your wife, your kids and your friends.

I therefore approached three artists who, just like us, have been trying for years to establish themselves on our market 
and somehow get a little more recognition, but are simply being overlooked.
They haven't given up yet and I hope they won't do so any time soon.
Because I see great potential in them, not only in their creativity, but also in the functionality of their work.
Because at every party where I play their music, there is movement on the dance floor.
And that's probably the best statement you can make.

Multiphase is the solo project of Danish artist Jannick Schøler Andersen, based in Aarhus, Denmark. He has been active on the scene as DJ pr0fane, representing the renowned Danish label Iboga Records since 2007. Listener is the psytrance project of Dean Claassens. After being introduced to his first outdoor festival in 2012, the bug bit and he tried to attend as many festivals as possible. After having a profound experience in 2013, the seed of playing psytrance music for others had been planted. Being ever inquisitive, Dean had spent many years teaching himself the theory of DJing before finally purchasing his equipment and teaching himself practically.

Listener is very much led by melody, believing it to be the fundamental character in which a musical journey can be created. He believes in creating flow in music to hold a space so that those present can feel safe to evolve within themselves and to receive what they need at the time.

Listener debuted at Summer Camp in November 2021 to emphatic positive feedback and has played at every Summer Camp festival since. He joined the Psy-Kick Tuesdays radio show, aired on Mutha-FM. Hosted by @gryphon-x, Listener became a monthly resident on the line-up until the show ended in October 2023. He has also been asked to play at festivals in the Garden Route of the Western Cape, including ECHO Gatherings and Community. In Cape Town, Listener will be found on many Hidden Leaf Festival line-ups.
