Newly discovered music I'm really into

This song may appear simple, if not simplistic. This is right, it’s not a complicated, rather a common, story about opening the door to someone and having to let this someone leaves you one day through the very same door.

However, in life like in love, don’t let the ordinary fool you. The little things in life are the biggest ones and when you have to look back to realize it, you’re actually lost to those magical instants.
Zut doesn’t stand for « Zebra University of Technology », but for « damn! » or « oh, heck! » in French. Yes, in French! Writing in the language of Molière was an arduous choice. It took me a year or so to go from the original « kinda » French lyrics to the final ones, which were done in a bar, on a paper napkin, along a few drinks!

The melody and chords were the most intuitive to find, playing around for a few evenings. However, honestly, my accent didn’t suit the rhythms and atmosphere. Finding singers willing to contribute proved not to be an easier task! Finally, Oliver Neff aka Titanic Jack agreed to record the main vocals. Together with Maja Štebih with her nice back vocals, they made such a great work on this Indie folkish-poppish-rock track. 
Thanks to both of them for their time, trust and capacity to see, and bring, beauty into the world!

U'r fire is wild

Big picture wise, it’s synth pop then something trippy for the bridge. Then I thought it worked fine with just piano/bass/drums towards the end so I let it turn into a singer-songwriter sort of thing. Is it new? Someone’s probably done it before. 
Songwriting wise, I did stick to the main chord progression from ‘Nightcall.’ There’s a part in the first chorus where I used negative harmony and it didn’t sound good so there’s pretty much only a second of that. During the second chorus there is a triad pair. A triad pair is when you a triad like the Red Lantern triad and the Twin Dragon triad and you pair them up. Just checking is anyone reads my theory explanations. Anyway, a triad pair is when the next triad doesn’t use any of the notes of the first triad. Then I did the subdominant -dominant key change but this time I used a deceptive cadence. The bass plays a bit of the dominant bebop scale to highlight the dominant chord. Then the synths play a harp arpeggio which is mostly stacked with 5ths. One of the basses also highlights the 3rd degree at times during the chorus. 

 Sound effects, the intro/last bars of the chorus use the same rhythm and similar sound effect to John Carpenters Escape From NY series. The backing male vocals at the last chorus reminded me of the creepy music they play when they’re summarizing horror films on WeChat.  The bass for the bridge was going for the synthesized bass of Redbone. There’s both real bass/synthetic bass Redbone and there’s 3 basses in this song. Also 2 drum kits which is similar to ‘Instant Crush.’ I really enjoyed doing the production on this one for once and I was doing my Itzy fist pumps like she does in ‘River.’ It’s headbangeable and danceable. 

Lyrically, the chorus is about self doubt. A person who thinks they are not good enough for someone else. So, not me then. The second verse is about bravado. I did read this thing on reddit where a person wrote, “I wrote this bridge. I don’t care if my favorite artist doesn’t like it. I like it. And that’s what matters.” He is damn right.

Made it as a semi finalist in 'Song of the Year' competition in 2022 with his song 'Cassius.' Finalist in 2023 with 'We'll Go Down.' Finalist in 2024 with 'Sigh' and also taking semi finalist positions with 'Heartbeats & Inner Turmoil' and 'You Had Me'. Tastes like Kung Pao Chicken. Looks like a cross between Brag Pitt and Heath Leather. Smells like team spirit. Feels like baby powder. Oh the music. Yeah, it sounds good.

Daily Musing:

My final thoughts towards all of the students is that you're all...talented whether you believe it or not. I've taught kids who couldn't pronounce it right after 10 attempts. You could all get it within 5 attempts. I would like to apologize to Ian for saying "连Ian都会". To which he replied, "呵“。 I prob have the wrong character there. On a side note, it is definitely awesome to love Pantera, Metallica, and Ozzy but there's no need to tell other people that the music they listen to is..."dumb." :)
You have a girl there who can't say her name in front of the class. I have no idea what kind of trauma you have to go through to not be able to do that but I think some love and patience would be great. She proactively said hi to me when I was downstairs and she has a beautiful smile. I actually thought she wasn't going to do that. 
You should see her 'aggressive' face. It's really good. You guys are a team and it is important that you all treat each other with respect. We failed miserably which is why our teammate left us and went to Switzerland. You guys can do better than us.
I remember teaching at XDF and in our last class I wrote 'f****t' on the white board and asked the students if they knew the word. They didn't. I said this is like the N word but for gay people. Don't say it. You guys got anything against gay people?
And the usually shy kid said, "老师，我们是新一代。“ (teacher, we are the new generation)
I smiled and said, "good. Then I have nothing left to teach you." See, the future of this nation is bright.
I think Lee will be the one that surprises everyone due to his confidence.  Word of advice: please don't ask your future teachers what cigs they smoke in the middle of the class :)
In conclusion, I think they should be aiming higher then Sydney. Melbourne.
